I took Plavix on 2 different occasions. I was put on the medication after my first heart stent took it for 1 yr. discontinued the medication. I took it again after another heart stent took it for another year I'm now currently not on the medication. I had no problems with plavix other than bruising very easily.

After taking this medication for 14 months I wound up bleeding from the large intestine and came very close to dying! I required 3 pints of blood and 2 saline solutions to get back to any resemblance to normal. This is a very dangerous drug that came awful close to killing me!

In my opinion Plavix is a horrible drug. I've had mult. problems after starting it because of a stent placed in my right coronary artery. I don't feel that I was properly informed of the side effect, and now every dr. I see tells me that I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place, that I'm "stuck" with this treatment for at least 6 mo. I'm having such a terrible time with it that I'd rather quit taking it and take my chances with a heart attach, death has to be better than what I'm going thru!

My husband started this drug in 2 months ago after having two stents put in. He has had nothing but stomach problems since. He always has pain in his stomach and has even thrown up a few times cause the pain was so bad. He has been on prilosec for about 5 years and has had no problems with his stomach since he started it. But the plavix is causing him alot of pain. Anyone else having stomach problems because of the Plavix? By the way he also is on 325 mg of coated asprin daily too.

I am was 39 at time of my heart attack which was very severe in nature,Been on plavix since (2 1/2 months) Other than the price its hard to point out any real side effects because of the HUGE amount of meds I'm on I cant pinpoint what causes side effects that I experience(total of 9 medications)

I started taking this drug for TIAs. The second night I have an extremely heavy feeling in my chest. No headaches. No bruising yet, but this is still new to me.

this medication almost killed me , I had one of the rare side effects called TTP, after 12 stents where placed in both my legs from P.A.D. my red and white cells dropped as well as my platelets, my kidneys started to shut down, thanks to the hospital they treated me with a plasma exchange and steroids, this drug is very dangerous !!! , shame on Bristol Meyers Squibb , profit before the patient !!!

Since I'm taking Plavix ,I bruise very easily and bleed with any sratch or nick, that I get. I have to put a band-aid on everything. Hopefully I'll never cut myself real bad because if I do I'll have to get to a hospital very fast.

Has by-pass in 2000. By-passed artery closed and I had a heart attack. 3 stints inserted in the closed artery. So far so good on Plavix except I now get constipation and night sweats (I guess the sweats are from the niacin).

I was on another well known blood thinner, since I have been on Plavix for the past 7 years I have had nothing but problems, severe nose bleeds, horrible bruising, my DR. that put me on it blames it on the plavix bur keeps me on it, I do have an ulcer of the deuodum, I have red marks all over my body, go to sleep with no bruises wake up with my legs and arms covered in bruises, bleeding when brushing teeth. I was put on it because of TIA's I honestly feel like it has given me some sort of blood disease, I would have never went on this medication had I known I would be going through all these problems, and having to wear long sleeve shirts and long pants year round even in the hot weather, because I am so embarrassed about the bruising and how people look at me. The rash that I get believe me it is no joy, and always feeling exhausted since I have been on this medication does not help me at all, my DR blames all the problems that I am having from taking the plavix but does he take me off of it and put me on another blood thinner NO. I contacted Plavix once but did nothing for me. I ask the makers of Plavix how safe is your drug? Why do I and I am sure others have to suffer like this, especially the bruising, that do not come from bumping my arms, legs, stomach, etc on any thing they just appear and in the hot weather they appear so badly and are so painful I do not know what to do.
