I have suffered from chronic yeast infections, likely from OCP use and a course of vancomycin I took 3 years ago. Because Monistat burned in the past, I typically turned to tioconazole 1 day. I've come to realize however, that these 1 day treatments never truly eradicate yeast fully, contributing to recurrent infections that are more resilient. I've tried literally every home remedy, to no avail (...

I made it 33 years without a yeast infection. I had no idea which medicine/cream I was supposed to use so I googled it and Monistat was first on my the list. Grabbed it at the store and used it immediately after cleaning the area. I started itching worse than before I tried the medicine…it was painful and uncomfortable. Took some advil to help and within an hour, the pain and itching completely subsided. Woke up the next morning and my symptoms were still gone, thank goodness. I would buy this product again.Read More Read Less

So I think the formula has changed. I've never been allergic before but today my Dr prescribed monistat 7 I picked it up. Applied after my shower before bed and omg. It burned me. Like throbbing burning. I have used this in the past maybee 2 yes ago after having my baby. But today 6 27 2023 omg something in this batch has changed. I will try tomarrow for the second application but omg this is weird.

I can say something in this formula has changed. I’ve always used monistat as my go to for yeast infections, acute and mild. I never had burning, irritation or swelling but I just used this and let me say I am typing this as I soak in my tub with my legs wide open because I am on FIRE! And it’s super swollen and irritated. I’ve never had this happen before. Someone in the comments stated it burns for woman who have BV, I think as woman we all know the difference between bv and a yeast infection. A yeast infection is supper obvious because of the clumpy discharge. So no, it’s not that we have BV, this seems like a new formula and it SUCKS! Read More Read Less

This is torture. I am sitting here unable to sleep at 3 am with an ice pack between my legs because the burning is absolutely unbearable. At first I was fine then almost an hour later i had the most irritating itchy feeling. This is absolutely awful i sat in a cold bath and it didn’t help. i put a tampon in and pulled it out just so that some of the cream would come out. this is awful pain

I just finished a prescription of amoxicillin and of course got a beasty yeasty. I got the 1 day treatment and I feel like my downtown is on fire!! It's burning, itching and swollen and there's a pulsating throb. UGH!! I woke up at 4 am and used an ice pack which helped relieve some of the pain, but NEVER again will is use this.

I advise for women to be hesitant to use this product. Last night was my first treatment day, and I'm choosing to wait to talk to my doctor so that I can get prescribed an oral medication in tablet form. I'm an army girl so I'm not a wuss, yet 2 minutes after I put in the treatment I began frantically crying uncontrollably. The pain was so extreme I thought I would have to go to the ER. I was very scared. If you have this reaction, I'd recommend finding something that works better for you. You may be allergic to something in the medicine that you didn't know you are allergic to, so it's better to find other options. Speak up if you're concerned about this medicine and its okay to not want to have such intense pain. In the meantime, I'm taking a mild pill that only decreases symptoms of my yeast infection, which is good to take if you're waiting for a prescription or doctor's visit. Stay safe ladies! Hope you feel better soon! Read More Read Less

I decided to try Monistat 7 cause it was recommended to me. I tried mon 1 before and I felt like I was dying and in the end I still had the infection. When I took mon 1 I didn’t know that I had bv and a yeast infection. This time I went to the doctors to make sure it’s a yeast infection. Rn I’m trying 7 cause my doctors fluc pill didn’t get rid of the infection and I can’t wait a month to get checked again. As of now my vagina is burning a little and a bit itchy but idc. This isn’t anywhere close to as bad as when I took mon 1. I’ll see if I can edit this once treatment is done.Read More Read Less

After, reading some of these comments I was so terrified to use the monistat 7 because of the irritation I already had . I was afraid it was burn like crazy but my bf force me to go ahead and start taking it. I took a cool bath and put a mixture of Vaseline and coconut oil also a little of A&D around the area on the outside where I had broke out from the yeast. I then inserted and laid down I didn’t experience any burnin thank God! The next morning I started to move around I felt a little tingly due to it leaking out but still not bad I then took a shower rinse it off and now I’m ready for the second dose tonight. I would recommend 7 because it isn’t as strong. Not sure why some girls are having a horrible experience I thought this would be me because I’m so sensitive down there but hopefully tonight goes well also I’m sure it will . Goodluck !! This is my 1st yi and I am now currently sleeping in my dorm with an ice in a napkin between my legs. It burned so bad I almost got locked out trying to run to the bathroom. I would rather have my lips fall off than to wish this pain in my worst enemy. NO. NO. NO.

OH MY GOD. i am literally the most uncomfortable I have EVER been. I used to use monistat in the past but would always use the 1 day method and that was years ago. I have a pretty bad infection rn so I decided to use the 7 day and dear lord the itch is absolutely unreal i could scream. I put it in probably 15 minutes ago and WOAH. im gonna try to continue the 7 days but if it is like this again tomorrow i can’t do it. apparently it’s normal but be prepared for the itch of your entire lifetime.

I used it through the years every time I had a yiest infection. It is very effective, I notice the decreasing discomfort as soon as a few hours after I apply. I only like the 7-day treatment w 7 individual applicators. I also use the cream to apply in the outside around the area, I find it calming and soothing…

Man, as I write this at 4:14 eastern time…my “down there” is on fire. I applied this product right before bedtime when I took a good warm bath with epsom salt and baking soda…around 12:30 a.m.. my goodness, the pain is worse than the actual YI…if this is what I have. It feels like my cervix is on fire and tingling and itching. I inserted garlic into my VG once before and it burned like crazy for the first 7 minutes that felt like an eternity, but once I removed it, I actually had relief and there was discharge in the toilet that was pulled out because of the garlic. It actually worked, BUT THIS? I’ve never known of monistat to irritate so much. I rarely get year infections, and I suspect it could’ve come from my partner sleeping around on me because I’ve only had this type of issue two other times and the first time was from antibiotics…. So this is the second time that I think it’s coming from sex (which is possible) but I believe they have a weird formula in this stuff now…. I can’t sleep and might wash it out and try the garlic instead. Read More Read Less

This is my second time on Monistat. The previous time I used it, no burning at all really for the entire 7 days. I started taking it tonight again and same thing, no burning at all. Some of the reviews I guarantee are coming from women who actually have BV instead of a yeast infection. I’m not personally sure why it burns some women and not others, but it could be an allergic reaction. Some women are also more sensitive to things than others.

The overall symptoms of the yeast infection have definitely subsided but it’s hard to tell which is worse; the mild-moderate and annoying long term discomfort and itching from the yeast infection, or the excruciating short term burning and inching from the medication. I’m currently on day 2 of 3 and it is torture. If it weren’t for the fact my symptoms were 10x better when I woke up I wouldn’t have bothered continuing. But in the meantime the end of this medication can’t come fast enough. Comparative to needing to cauterize a wound, necessary but unbelievably dreadful.Read More Read Less

so the past couple days i noticed i probably has a yeast infection i didn’t have the 15 dollars to buy the monistat so i got some itch cream. would reapply every few hours and didn’t feel the infection til the cream wore off. fast forward four days i get my paycheck i’m like finally i can go get some monistat.chose the three day tube inserts and external cream. didn’t realize ur supposed to do it at night so i took it before going to family bowling w my boyfriends family… BIG MISTAKE. as soon as i applied i realized the external cream was not the same as the numbing itch cream. ten minutes after getting to the bowling alley i had to run the the bathroom get wet paper towels cleaned the outside and changed the pad i put on to help w leakage because of the burning. spent so long in the bathroom they probably thought i took a massive dump. feels a little better so i go back. five minutes later it’s the inside burning now. burning and extreme itch 10 times more than the actual yeast infection so i wait as long as i can and in tears i run back to the bathroom. the medicine is coming out as i’m wiping so i keep wiping keep wiping and CLOG THE TOILET… it felt good in the moment but trust me do not do this it only makes it worse later on. i felt better for ab twenty minutes the more started coming out. this time it’s excruciating bc i wiped so many times i was raw and my labia minora was BLEEDING not bleeding coming out from the inside but my actual labia was bleeding . i get in there and when i tell u i felt like i was peeing acid. oh boy was it painful. after spending 3/4 of my time at the bowling alley in the bathroom i knew i had to go to the er or go home and wash it out. i couldn’t walk right or even sit right. i get home take a cold bath wash it all out get out put an ice pack on it and started to feel better. this morning i woke up and the infection is gone but i would’ve much rather waited for the weekend to pass to go to the clinic for antibiotics. yesterday was miserable there has to be some type of chemical or something in monistat. if u had covid and had the extreme leg pain like i did then u know how bad that is i would say the week long excruciating leg pain was a walk in the park compared to less than half a day of monistat. still have to go to the doctor monday for antibiotics bc i will not being doing day two and three.Read More Read Less

If you like torture, this is it. It is way worse than the discomfort from any YI. The feeling is the absolute worse. My husband tells me I have the highest pain tolerance of anyone he knows, And still this turned me into a puddle of tears. Whoever made this hates women. It should be illegal.
