I use this drug for RLS. It has been very effective but also can make me very drowsy. I take it before bed because of that. Sometimes I feel like I have just been 'drugged' and can hardly function to get myself to bed, sometimes it doesn't make me sleepy at all! Strange. The other thing I have noticed is that if I wake up in the middle of the night I can't always get back to sleep. I haven't reall...

I have been on this pill for 1 week. I keep waking up it does not help my RLS. What I have found is that this medicine makes me paranoid that someone is breaking into my house or that I am going to die in my sleep. seems to help with RLS, take 2 of the .25 approx hour or two before bed time. Been on now for approx 3 weeks, seem to have trouble sleeping and having pain in my knees. Started out with 1 tablet for 5 days, then 2 for 3 days and was supposed to to to 3 tablets but the 2 seemed to help my RLS. Previously took Carbo-libo for RLS.

This medicine has the complete opposite effect on me. I started out at .5mg and once it started working, I felt great. After about a week, I started feeling worse. My doctor up'd my dosage and it is even more worse. I feel the need to move my legs and arms all day long. I no longer sleep well. Have others experienced this? I am asking my doctor to take me off of it. It is horrible. :(

I have RLS. The symptoms, constant need to move/re-position legs often occurs in the early evening when I quit the movements of the day. I have had to increase my dosage, per doctor recommendation, from one .25 mg tablet to two tablets. It works very well for me and I sleep soundly throughout the night. I have however, experienced short-term memory loss since increasing the dosage. This leads to confusion sometimes and now I make sure to write down planned actions and double check before leaving the room/house. The relief from the RLS is so good that I would not "trade" the memory loss to go back to the RLS symptoms. Read More Read Less

I was diagnosed with RLS over 10 yrs. ago and was taking the lowest dose available. Over time, it became necessary to increase the dosage. I started taking Ropinerole about 5 yrs. ago and it has been very effective. I was taking two 4mg doses every night but I now take only one dose and if needed I take an additional dose during the day. My RLS is pretty much under control as long as I take the medicine. It has worked very well for me.

I've been taking this for about 3 months. Started off with 1 mg. at bedtime. Not very effective. Doubled dosage then had 'rebound' symptoms (?). I now take 2 mg early in the afternoon for rls and 2 mg. at least an hour before bedtime. Perfect! Seemed to increase symptoms but keeps them completely under control.

Taken without food, this medicine makes me violently nauseated! But it lets me sleep and totally does away with my restless legs.

This drug has helped me with my RLS. The side effects I have experienced have been a cough from taking the medication and vomiting. Those are the only drawbacks, but it does help me sleep. If I don't take it (which I never miss), I am up all night.

Sometime during the second and third weeks of use I started to experience very lifelike hallucinations which I didn't even realize until I questioned a family member about something I remembered happening which didn't really happen. As for the RLS, it worked great!

Be very careful on the dosage. I accidentally took (2) 4mg pills thinking it was 2mg pills. Very strange dreams and night time hallucinations during my periods of waking up.

Take for RLS daily for the past 10 years. 1 mg tablets. They have been a god-send. While it takes 1.5 - 2 hours for the medicine to kick in, the symptoms are pretty much gone for at least 6 - 7 hours. I sometimes take a second pill in the very early morning. If I forget to take pills on a trip, I will not sleep at all .....I also may take a pill if I am to be in a car/plane for extended periods.

Dries out my throat, then I begin a dry hacking cough. It makes me very nauseated. I have to lay down as soon as I take ropinirole even if my legs have not settled down due to extreme and sudden fatigue. The worst side effect is the sudden feelings of morbid thoughts, my own mortality. These are not thoughts of suicide but random thoughts of poor health, death, and illogical thoughts of my family left behind, and I don't want to be alone, I cling to my husband for comfort. Very strange and disturbing. I have taken this drug for approximately 8 years and the side effects are becoming worse. Overall, I would never get any rest without the drug due to severe restless leg syndrome, but the side effects are becoming very difficult to live with. Read More Read Less
