as long as I take a probiotic and eat yogurt every day during the treatment, the diarrhea is not as bad. Also, I must take it with food or I have severe vomiting. but it worked good against a sinus infection

This drug did not improve my condition at all. It made my tongue red, painful with small white dots. It is a week since I stopped taking it, and my tongue is still inflamed.

This medicine sent me to the hospital with blood loss. I will never take it again. I am now diagnosed with Bleeding Ulcers which I never even had an ulcer until taking it.

No side effects noted after four days of taking this medication. By the way: save your money if you are prescribed a "Z-Pak", my personal experience is that it is NOT near as effective as a 7-10 day antibiotic, such as Augmentin.

Had a horrible infection, ear and sinus. To combat loose stools, I take OTC Anti-Diarrheal med- and its worked. No nasty diarrhea. The Augmentin is working great with little side effects.

It cleared up a very persistent sinus infection promptly.It did cause diarrhea which kept me grounded to the house.This can cause an unexpected hardship for most people.I had the sinus infection for a very long time thinking it was allergies,the treatment was worth the inconvienence for me.

I am under treatment with Humira and other meds for RA. A dog bite in my hand caused a deep puncture. Within 24 hours , my entire hand was red and swollen warm, and tender to touch. I saw my Dr who advised holding Humira until the wound was completely healed. She prescribed Augmentin along with a tetanus shot. I just completed a 10 day course of Augmentin. It is a huge tablet. Hard to swallow and it gave me terrible diarrhea for the whole 10 days. However, it worked. I had a eye infection after cataract surgery lasting over six weeks. The eye surgeon was unable to treat me and said to me she did not know what to do. I went to my family doctor who sent me to the hospital for a cat scan of my eye. The end result was using this medication for ten days with good results. The eye has since returned to normal, not thanks to the eye surgeon, but my family doctor. I was taking 2000 mg a day.

Within 4 hours of the first dose I had a loose stool (uncommon for me), with 12 hours EXTREME diarrhea. I have been so sick with the sinus infection I don't want to stop the antibiotic and have started using Pepto-Bismol to get relief, I hope all of this works.

This is the first time I have ever taken this medication and the last. I can tolerate it but I have an upset stomach on and off all day. It worked fast to relieve my symptoms of my sinus infection but the upset stomach isn't worth it.

To avoid side effects, I cut these huge pills in half and took half every 4 hours. Since I was off solid foods, I took with baby food such as sweet potatoes. This worked well.

When I first took this I was violently sick approx 10mins after. Wrenching bile, the body obviously rejecting this medication. Went back to the Doctor and he then prescribed an anti sickness tablet, this had no effect. I stopped taking it all together. A few months later I was prescribed this medication and again, violently throwing up. Cut a long story short, I'm elergic to 'Potassium Clavulanate' and was told by my ENT Consultant that this is common.

Diagnosed with sphenoid sinus infection and chronic ear infection. I was prescribed this medication by an ENT after two concurrent sinus infections and chronic ear infection. I had finished 2 rounds of antibiotics (Zpak) without success. I am currently on the last week of a 4 week dose of Augmentin. I feel much better, ear pain and itch is gone, sinus are much better. I return for a CT scan of my ear at the end of the month. I took the Augmentin 2x a day with a probiotic in the morning. I had no stomach upset and no other side effects. Worked quickly, caused stomach pain and nausea.

The only antibiotic that works for me when I have sinus and upper respiratory infections.

nausea and diarrhea ...after the first day of taking the pills, I ended up on the toilet all the time...I went to the chemist for a probiotic (very expensive) and hope it helps...the dose seems very high at 1000mg 2 tablets a day.

So far so good is clearing my sinus thank you

I started taking this medication yesterday; I've only taken two pills so far. Almost instantly the pressure that was built up in my sinuses, the headaches from the pressure, and drainage improved a lot. My sinuses are currently draining through my throat, but I'm pleased that this medication has cleared up pressure issues that I've had for well over a year so quickly.

I am experiencing diarrhea (not unusual for me) but my anus itches, is tender & even a bit of pale blood on the tissue. Is this normal? (It is Saturday so no Dr or PA or NP in office.

I was prescribed Augmentin for Cellulitis from a bite while vacationing in Belize. It's a large pill to swallow, but taking it with food was good. I didn't experience any stomach issues like I have with other medications. One major side effect I had was depression. I was extremely sad, lonely and lacked any motivation. I originally thought I was just drowsy until I started having the urge to burst in to tears all day long. My last dose was 24 hours ago and my attitude is a complete 180.
