Have taken this for years, literally, since no insurance (come on Medicare) for the "magical purple pill"- it works very well and I start to suffer symptoms by second day of I don't get to the store for more- so it definitely relives symptoms. What amazes me is that it is the main ingredient in the expensive OTC (Prilosec, Zantac etc) and you can buy 200 tablets 150 mg at Walmart for about $7.00. ...

My doctor gave me this to try to help with the heartburn I had developed from apparent GERD, while it did help my heartburn at night while I slept, I noticed it caused me to have more heartburn overall and more frequently, if I missed a dose I would get severe heartburn. Until now I only had heartburn while laying down, now I have heartburn all the time. I wanted to have less heartburn, not take...

I have only used this for a short time but it really helped me. I have too much stomach acid and for some reason it also makes me feel bloated. I took this and now my stomach is noticeably calmer and the bloat is gone.

This medication works best when used before you eat problem foods. I asked my doctor to prescribe it when I read that Nexium and Prilosec may endanger the kidneys. Ranitidine is not as effective as the others. I hope they will find a safe and effective treatment at some point.

For me, at 150mg, it's very effective controlling heartburn in place of PPI's, which one must take only in limited time frames and which pose serious potential side effects. But I'm also concerned about longterm effects of ranitidine use. I plan to consult my doctor about this.

I was on ranitidine 150 logo 4357 for years and did well with it and then CVS switched me to GG705 made my stomach so sick. Trying to get back on 4357. Can't believe different makers would have this affect, when I pulled up the ingredients they were noticeable different.

This medication helps my stomach problems. But when I figured it out it was the ranitidine that was causing my body cramps at night. If I moved the wrong way a cramp. The muscle spasms keep me up.

This prescription was written for my 3 month old son to reduce his reflux. Immediately after the first dosage, I noticed complete relief. I am very happy with his doc & the pharmacy! The pharmacy gave me an oral syringe to measure the right amount. I knew that I couldn't put the prescription directly into my son's mouth b/c he would choke, unless he suckled it in a bottle. I use Philips Avent Natural. To solve this problem, I dissolved a very small amount (1/16 tsp) of sugar in an ounce of water and then poured half of it out. I added the prescription to this half-ounce of sugar water and was surprised at how quickly he swallowed it, with no rejection. My son is exclusively breastfed and I thought it would be a lot more difficult, or might cause problems with my nursing. A few minutes after I gave him his prescription, he wanted to suckle. It was easier for us after the ranitidine sugar-water. :-) Again, I am very happy with his doctor and the pharmacy.Read More Read Less
