Comment:
The drug initially lowered my husband's cholesterol but he had muscle weakness in his legs which went away when he stopped it. He started it again and it returned so he stopped it permanently. I think this drug and other statins have the potential to be dangerous and are prescribed too often instead of making lifestyle changes first.

Comment:
Experiencing severe leg pains, including numbness, sensation of heat, swelling of legs from the knees down. On advice of prescribing MD, stopped and was told to not take any more statins ever.

I am extremely satisfied with Lipitor. Started taking l0 mgs. after Baycol was removed from the market. Recently my total Cholesterol was normal; however, the LDL was higher than the HDL and my doctor increased my dosage to 20 mgs., one per day. I can't say if this drug was effective as I only took it for a month and got so sick I had to quit taking it. I had severe muscle aches, was so fatigued I felt like I was dying and then I got some sort of urinary problem where my urine was discolored. I was so sick I couldn't get out of bed.
