I am writing this review because before going on Kariva, I almost asked my doctor to switch me based on the reviews I read on this website and others. Well let me say, five months in and I am VERY happy with Kariva! I had some headaches, appetite changes, and mood swings the first couple of months. Since then, my acne has cleared up, I have not gained weight, my periods are shorter. My pharmacy f...

I don't use this medication for birth control, I use it for the price (which can't be beat). But I do not like it. I have increased cramp, moodiness, and longer, heavier periods. I would not recomend it to anyone. In fact I just finished this set of pills and did not order any more.

I started my 1st pack on the first day of my spotting..my period went over 2 weeks with heavy flow. I have bad cramps and bloatedness and movement hasnt been easy for me at all. And I could even insert a tampon on the last few days...I quit this brand for good.

I was previously on Mircette and my isurance covers Kariva instead. I have been on it for about 6 months now. I really like it a lot. my skin has cleared up a little bit. I do get moodier around when I start a new pack, which I think is kinda weird. Lately though, I have been having a weird feeling in my knee (left if it matters which). Im not sure if its from the pill or stress? guess I find out tuesday.

I have been taking Kariva for 5yrs; originally I started taking it because I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and it was prescribed to regulate my periods. I has helped greatly and now i take it for 3months and get my period 4 times a year. Excellent contraceptive, shorter periods, less cramps, less moodiness!

So far I don't have many problems with this medication. The first month I had break through bleeding, but my periods have been shorter which is great.

I've been taking this medicine for seven years. When I first started it I had a couple mos of getting red spots on my face. It only lasted a day or two though. I have not had that since then and the medicine has been effective. I also have a very light period.

I started on this as I had very heavy and irregular flows. This made my flow MUCH worse. My doc said I am close to starting menopause so wanted to use this one to regulate hormones. Maybe its because I just started on it but I have never had cramps so bad. I'm going through a tampon and a pad every hour and still leaking!

I started using Kariva 3 months ago for irregular periods. The first 2 months, I had 2 weeks of bleeding, and 2 weeks of no bleeding. This month (my third pill pack) everything has been normal, no breakthrough bleeding...Hopefully this is the solution for me.

Unlike other brands of pills I have taken, I gained no weight with this one and don't feel any side effects. I highly recommend this pill, and the price is right too!

I had horrible pms (bloating, acne, ridiculous mood swings) and started taking Kariva to help with it. My acne cleared up very quickly, but my only problem with the medication is that I can just start crying for very little reason. My hairdresser charged me more than usual for a haircut, and I started crying immediately in the middle of the salon, and I could hardly quit! I'm hoping eventually this side effect will go away...?

No negative side effects except a slightly increased tendency towards mood swings (I become weepy easily), and a *higher* libido than before. I love Kariva; it's been great for me.

This pill has worked as far as not conceiving; I was on Mircette before, but was prescribed this brand (apparently the generic brand of Mircette?)after I had my baby girl in April; Unfortunately though, I am not happy with it. I've had increased vaginal discharge to the point where I have to wear a panty liner every day and change it often... I'm calling my dr. this week to switch.

My sex drive has been reduced, just like most birth controls cause, but the last pill I was on gave me high blood pressure. I've been doing great with this one.
