My daughter, age 13, has had issues with her skin since she was very little. We started using the Elidel and were very pleased with the results. I heard and read the results regarding cancer and we stopped using it. I had become very concerned. Nothing else seemed to work nearly as well as Elidel. Now, when the breakouts are bad we apply a very small amount to only the affected area and it is enou...

My infant was given this med at the hospital in 2003. I was unaware of the potential side effects and the Dr. asured me it was safe for my infant. It was not!!!!! Do not use this product believe me its not worth the risk. My child now 8 is almost living a normal life. This drug should be taken off the market!!!!!

Instructed to use on eyelids; eye brows; upper cheek areas. Eyelids became more red an pimple like eruptions occurred. Very difficult to rub into eyelid and not expect/risk getting to near eyes.

My 6 year old son has some plaque type psoriasis. He has a few patches on his cheeks near his ear. His skin became so much smoother after just 1 application!! He has not mentioned burning. But then, I apply this after he falls asleep. (He is on the spectrum and does not have an easy disposition at times- especially for anything new.)

My daughter is using it and was prescribed it when she was diagnosed with vitiligo. It's hard to fully see if there is any improvement, but I would strongly comment on how ridiculous the cost is. When we first had to get the prescription without knowing about the discounts, the starting cost was over $900. In the average was somewhere between 2 to 300, with the cheapest getting one-time discount from Walgreens for $125. I'm an American, but I also live in Italy and as soon as I got home back to Italy, I realized they sell the same tubes for four euros apiece . How cannot be legal ?Read More Read Less

Elidel is extremely effective. Please be careful not to use it more than 3-4 days at any given time. I use this creme on my face because I have very sensitive skin and break out from rashes. Elidel does a fantastic job clearing it right up. Again, please don't overuse this drug, as the side effects will be bothersome.

My dermatologist gave me this for my dry eyelids. I don't think it's a good idea to use around the eyes after reading more info. The skin on the eyelids is thin, and my eyes all the way around and my eyes in general are burning. All of the warnings sound bad too. I'm not going to use it again.

I went through nearly every cream out there for my eczema on my face - and I mean everything. But I had a reaction to it all,and I was starting to lose hope. Then, I was prescribed Elidel. It's an awesome cream, and it really helped clear up my ezcema. I'm still using it now, and I still have ezcema, but Elidel has made a lot of difference. I didn't notice any side effects from it.

I've been on this medication almost 10 years. I chronically suffer from seborrheic dermatitis and eczema on my face. Elidel is approved for eczema but using it for seb derm is off label use. It works better than anything else, though, to keep my skin clear! Most people think I have perfect skin. In reference to the burning/itching: I got that the first two times I used it when my face had a massive build up of dead skin cells on it. It wasn't painful, just kind of irritating. It was like the Elidel was working to unglue all the dead skin from the healthy skin. I no longer experience this sensation, but I'm not putting Elidel on skin with thick eczema crusts, either, since I'm using it daily (because if I don't, I'll have a seb derm and/or eczema break out).Read More Read Less

I didn't want to use steroid medication since I had seen my son were in the terrible "rebound" condition after he was using a steroid medication three years ago. My doctor prescribed Elidel and I satisfied the result so far. The first day, I felt extreme itchy sensation which may be called "irritation" described as one of the side effect. After the second days of usage of the Elidel, I don't feel this irritation anymore and bright red inflammation is just like a light pink skin now. Amazing! Read More Read Less

I was prescribed this for suspected atopic dermatitis on my neck and face. I couldn't use it more than for a single dose the burning and itching were so bad I spent the evening sobbing. I will not be using this product ever again.

I went to a doctor for a rash that had appeared on my hips and lower abdomen. This doctor told me that it was a skin infection and prescribed me antibiotics, and an antibiotic skin ointment. The rash still remained there for months with no relief! After being in so much pain and very uncomfortable at night ( I broke down in tears it was that bad ) I went to another doctor for ANYTHING, something!!!!! He asked several questions and then took one look at it and knew it was eczema. He started me off with a steroid cream (can't remember the name) It had worked for a while but the eczema came back. I informed my doctor of this and he then prescribed me a steroid pill along with the same cream... Same as before... Eczema was back again but worse, and now appearing on my elbows and left calf! I was about to give up and figured there was nothing I could do for my eczema): My doctor had one more trick up his sleeve! He had me take a 2x a day steroid pill for 7 days and ELIDEL! IT WORKED!!!! I was seeing my stubborn eczema going away with ease around the 5th day to where it was completely gone! Now when I get a flare up and as soon as I notice it I apply ELIDEL to the area ASAP and it relives the bumps and redness(: ELIDEL is amazing!Read More Read Less

I began taking Elidel for an uncomfortable itch associated with Eczema. The first 1-3 days it seemed to have been working and then, my face was under severe attack. The itch became agonizing, and my whole face became red, swollen, and broke out with heat rash type bumps. This drug made my existing symptoms worse and gave me a few new ones. DO NOT USE

I tend to get red spots on my face often, they are like allergy rash, but with a smooth surface, not raised, not itchy, can be as big as a quarter coin or like as small like rice, I feel it is related to the food I eat, but so far I still don't know what it is. Anyway, once I got this red spots, they don't go away by themselves, some day seems better, some day are worse...and I can't use any facial lotion/cream, those will make spots irritated and become hot red....so Doctor gave me these couple years ago, and it works like a charm, the red spots fade away in couple days and then totally disappeared. I can go back to my facial care routines, and I am fine for a while. I am always have these medicine on my drug cabinet, because, I will get the spots 2-3 times a years. This elidel is my saver, because without this medicine, the red spot will stay forever and many times more and more pops up and making the situation worse. I am so grateful for those medicine researchers who discovered this wonder. Read More Read Less
