Works great for GERD, however depletes magnesium levels dangerously low. I had heart palpitations, severe muscle cramping, nervousness, and shaking.

Took me a while to figure it out this stuff is poison for me!! Did not control heartburn or acid reflux. Burning in throat, pain in shoulders, arms, throat, sinuses, esophageal spasms and pain, reduced appetite, stomach pain, sores in mouth, nose, teeth pain. Increased B/P. The list is just ridiculous! Feel so sick! How can they say the generic has the same ingredients, obviously there are fillers...

For the most part my acid reflux is controlled. Since I have begun using Izra 40,I have started seeing some twitching in my legs and I am wondering if it is side effect. I have been taking the generic Esomprazole Magnesium IP enteric called Izra 40. I saw a mentioning of its use causing a magnesium deficiency in some that could lead to tremors, but nothing about twitches. I also take Simvastatin 40, so that could be the problem. Any ideas?

I am taking this drug since 8 month. If I stop it for 2-3 days, heart burn started again. Now I reduce the quantity from 40 mg to 10 mg per day or 20 mg in a 2 day. It is working but dont know how long I have to take this medicine.

I have to take Naproxen daily for severe arthritis in both knees. Nexium was prescribed to me after an endoscopy found I had 2 peptic ulcers. I took Nexium for 3 months and had another endoscopy, which showed my stomach ulcers had healed. I was told by my physician that as long as I take the Naproxen I would have to take the Nexium. And I have had no stomach problems since. The one problem I have with the Nexium is its high cost and getting my insurance to pay their part.

With constant 40mg dosage per day I have managed to overcome excessive heartburn pains. But If I stop taking it for more than 2 days my heartburn returns. I find a lot of stomach flatulence and loose stools since taking this medication for teh past 1 year.
