I use it for frequent widespread hydro excema and have found it very effective for reducing the swelling and the itch. Terrasil is the brand containing the allantoin.

I had a very serious burn about the size of a quarter on my wrist from hot water. After the burn I used polysporin until the skin healed over. At this point it was bright red. I used Mederma every day, twice a day. It's been 4 weeks now and the skin is almost back to normal with only the slightest redness left. It doesn't look like it will scar.

I used mederma for a scar after surgery on my neck. I apply it in the morning after I shower and it itches. It NEVER stops itching all day long. I stopped using it because of the itch and switched to a skin cream - Curel Ultra Healing.
