It fixed the bronchitis problem. Completed 10 days of treatment. 2 days after treatment I now have bloating and cramps. I have called Dr and awaiting what if anything can solve the problem

After just taking one dose of this medicine (with food, about 15 minutes later I found myself violently ill almost running to the bathroom to vomit. Stomach continued to be nauseous but there was nothing to throw up anymore. Then to top it all off, the diarrhea came. And the way it came was very surprising. I was laying in bed and all of a sudden found my pants full of diarrhea. The diarrhea has continued into the next day. I will not be continuing this drug as I cannot imagine what it would be like if I took more than just one dose. I called my doctor to get a new prescription. Read More Read Less

Had a bad sinus infection for over a week. Went to doctor and after the 2nd day of Tx with ABT, felt a lot better. No side effects noted. Very happy with med.

After several infections a high dose of this s drug has eradicated the problem.

I normally tolerate antibiotics very well. but after two doses, I was extremely queasy and had to call in sick to work. The side effects of the drug felt worse than my sinus infection, so I asked my doctor for another treatment option.

I had a severe reaction to this drug. I became violently ill with nausea and vomiting. I had to go to the emergency room for dehydration.

My husband almost had to go to the ER just 2 hours after taking this medication for bites and lacerations received from a dog. He took it as directed with food. He started getting severe abdominal pain, sweating profusely and vomiting several times (dry heaves and mucus). He complained of lots of mucus in the nose and stomach and could barely stand or speak and kept groaning in pain and having to throw up. I called the after-hours medical service and they said to bring him to the ER. He was in no shape to ride in the car. Luckily his doctor called just as I hung up with the RN and prescribed Promethazine to handle the nausea and vomiting. This worked quickly and we didn't have to go to the ER. He is able to sleep now but started getting abdominal pain again just 3 hours later and had to take a half of the Promethazine since it hadn't yet been 4 hours. The side effects of this drug - for my husband, was far worse than the pain from the dog bite, lacerations and stitches. He told me he thought he was going to die and I was honestly pretty scared over this ordeal. We don't yet have a replacement antibiotic, and it's something I'll have to follow up on tomorrow, but us along with his doctor will be extremely careful of any similar side effects.Read More Read Less

Was prescribed for a infected tooth. This stuff is horrible. Experienced bad stomach pain, burning in my chest, vomiting, and diarrhea so acidic that just burns BAD! I thought I was having a heart attack and wanted to go to the ER, but no way I could drive. I took about half the twenty pills, and as soon as I stopped I started feeling better. I would rather pull the tooth myself with a pair of pliers that to take any of this again.

Very healthy female, prescribed this for cat scratch infection.In three days infection gone but was advised to keep taking for full seven days. During this time I made sure to take with food and also take probiotics and yogurt to counteract some of the side effects. On day 6, I began to experience diarrhea, which worsened during the day. By evening, had severe intestinal cramps and diarrhea`about every 10 minutes. This lasted all night. By morning , I was exhausted, had a high fever, and incapacitating stomach cramps. My body was totally drained of anything but yellow liquid that burned terribly coming out. Almost went to hospital due to the unbelievable pain. Even a sip of water went right through me, burning and doubling me over each time. I lost track at 52 trips to the bathroom. Dr. suggested Immodium and gator aid— no help. Day seven much the same, but cramping slightly less painful. Forced myself to eat an egg (1st food in 2.5 days.) Now, day 8, trying to eat and take probiotics, but still painful cramping on passage of nothing but liquid. Lost 6 pounds in the process. Dr. says this is normal, but this agony cannot be correct. Not to mention losing 3 days of work, missed appointments and classes. At least, the patient should be forwarned, or the dosage cut in half and replaced with a less damaging antibiotic. I have taken amoxicillin several times with no side effects. However, after taking amox. cval for two days, severe diarrhea occurred after taking the third tablet. I stopped taking the drug and I am going back to my MD for a better prescription.

Was taking for stubborn Sinus Infection with Bronchitis. Started on Thursday Pm. By Friday afternoon I was having severe stomach pains and and a burning sensation. Saturday morning woke up with severe flu like symptoms. Sunday morning (2am) watery diarehha none stop for 5 days. Was later told that that if you any kind of stomach issue like heartburn of sensitive stomach the reactions can be tripled. This should be told to patients before writing a prescription for someone. I took this medication twice a day for seven days to clear up a sinus infection. The infection cleared up fairly quickly, but the side effects are awful! I have experienced severe stomach pain and bloating, and I'm still suffering from these side effects eight days after completing the course. It was so bad this morning that I almost went to the emergency room, because it felt like one of my organs was about to burst open or something. I took some Gas X and a very potent probiotic, and that has helped a little. This medication was extremely effective, but I will never take it again. It's not worth the lasting side effects for me. I noticed since taking this that I have muscle pain and just not feelng good at all. Stopped taking this,because my taste of anything was not there

Worst med I have ever been on. Extreme headaches, upset stomach, constantly tired/weak, cant eat, sleep and lastly diarrhea

I don't know if this was the cause of my severe head and neck pain or a coincidence. I don't know if I picked up a virus at the same time I started this treatment. I am taking this for a couple of cat bites.

The medication took almost immediate effect and I felt a relief in my sinuses the very next day, however the strong side effect, which I have never experienced before made me to call my doctor on the 3rd day of the treatment to ask for a different antibiotics-I was not able to continue with the medication. (Please note that I have taken antibiotics based on penicillin for years to treat sinuses or other respiratory infection without having such a strong body reaction). This medication caused me a great deal of bleeding during bowel movements as well as extreme tiredness and stomach upset. I would not take it again.

I'm taking it cos I have H.parainfluenza and Enteroccoci, but it's not working.
