I have had migraine headaches bad level 9 pain 35 years. this is the ONLY med that takes away my migraines & allows me to function! All others either make me sick, make my heart race or have side effects which are worse than the benefits! I'm on here today looking for an alternative because Dr just informed me that ALL Docs are going to be taking ALL their patients OFF all narcotic pain relievers ...

Works so good within at least the hour, hour and a half of taking it. Sounds like a long time but if you suffer from bad headaches you will think it's not bad.

I have used this medication for a long time to relieve tension headaches. It has been very effective. The only side effect has been drowsiness which seems to peak around 3 hours after taking it.

I am 43 years old and suffered from migraines since I was 8. I was prescribed this medication from a neurologist when I was 25. I have tried the Imitrex and other similar drugs over the years and find this has worked best for me. So I have used this for nearly 20 years. I am able to function and find the only side effect is that it makes me chatty after a brief period of drowsiness. Not a bad side effect :) I keep getting pushed to use daily drugs to control my migraines, but refuse to take them because I don't have them every day. 1-2 times a week peaking in the fall and spring. This combination seems to work for the nausea and visual auras that come with my migraines. I have never become addicted and have not needed to increase the medication dosage. I can only hope that they continue to manufacture this or my migraines would ruin my life, rather than be the productive mom of two that I am.Read More Read Less

All others either make me sick, make my heart race or have side effects which are worse than the benefits! I'm on here today looking for an alternative because Dr just informed me that ALL Docs are going to be taking ALL their patients OFF all narcotic pain relievers if prescribed for migraines & putting them on "preventatives" like Amiltriptaline, Imatrex, and plain old Ibuprofen- which doesn't even take away regular headaches for me. So I'm panicking, I don't look foward to being bedridden without this wonderful med- I never got addicted & I don't understand modern medicine anymore.-we're back in the dark ages-might as well be putting leaches on my head! NO ONE should have to suffer in terrible pain for days & weeks in this day and age!Read More Read Less

OMG..FINALLY RELIEF!! I suffer from migraines & tension headaches. I had to go thru 3 other doctors b4 finally getting this one. All the others insisted on Topamax, which made headache worse & occur more frequent. When I told the first doctor this she looked at me as if I had 4 heads. Next was,Treximet & Imitrex both in pill & injection form both made my heart race so bad I felt I would just deal with the headache. Then of course the Vicodin, Norco, etc., NO THANKS. This is the best I take 1 capsule and within 20mins feel relief. If I am having nausea with the migraine I also have compozine and that combo is THE BEST!! I realize everybody reacts differently to everything but I highly suggest talking with ur doc about this alternative!!!!Read More Read Less

This really takes pain away... but it's addicting and when I take it when I'm not in pain it makes me feel very sick. Sometimes it feels like I got punched in the face and it just isn't very fun. My own fault though...

This is the med for tension headache- i sware by it nothing compares-I get migranes and omg when the relief comes...Danger this is also a feelgood drug if taking it without a headache an easy to get addicted to.I strongly recommend not abusing the if you haven't and are new to the drug-Besides ending up short of your script and getting that migraine you'll be kicking yourself in the bum (been there)Also it has a short half life-will stay in your system about an hour-this is pertinent if you've found yourself addicted-detox can be very uncomfortable but do-able-...its not like someone coming off heroin or something..... backing off can be done yourself in my opinion unless you really are taking a lot(then get help please) Weening off slowly in my experience worked best...cold turkey never worked for me.Too extreme for my body....weening off was comfortable I didnt want to go to Dr. and have him take me off the only drug that works for my headaches-so im back on schedule NO EXCESS...no problem -Read More Read Less
