Took this for a sinus infection due to allergies, vocal chord swelling that didn't respond to Keflex. Really helped me a lot. Some side effects I had were: trouble sleeping, a bit moody, energy, felt hot, increase in hunger, no food tasted normal

Prescribed for occipital neuralgia. Side effects worse than condition. Jitters, headaches, dizziness, leg cramps, and loss of composure.

I have bulging discs in my back, fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. This medication has been a miracle. I started on it and have had steady energy, able to get projects done that I haven't had the energy or attitude to take on in a long time. I am fighting for a chance to be left on it longer so I can keep going. There have been some side effects, but I just lowered my dose and tried to get by on less. Right now, I take l/4 of a pill (Dex pak 13 day 1.5 mg) every 12 hours or so and it's working great. I tried switching to generic 1 mg pills, but found it's not working over the past week and I got really, really tired and had to rest a lot. The challenge is going to be the taper off of it. It is a potent medication.Read More Read Less

Has dramatically improved my back pain caused by a herniated disc, however side effects are almost too much to handle. PROFUSE sweating, leg cramps at night, no sleep, a constant feeling of anxiety and agitation.

I was diagnosed with a sinus infection and bronchitis, but my doctor wanted to treat it like it was a walking pneumonia. I have to say I feel 1000x better than before..however the side effects are outrageous (sp?). My whole body is as solid as a rock, swollen up twice my normal size. Moodswings every 30 minutes. I eat like a football player....I recommend this medicine for someone who has been EXTREMELY sick and needs to gain weight back....never again will I take this medicine due to the fact that it puts me in a weird mood and makes me eat like there is no tomorrow.Read More Read Less

I am a small petite 51 year old female who had previously lead a very athletic lifestyle. But not without seeing a Chiropractor for 30+ years only to find out that I had a severely ruptured disk in my cervical spine, from an MRI. The Dr. had me see a pain specialist which prescribed me the Dexpac 13. After about the 6th day, I wasn't able to sleep and I became extremely angry and aggressive at a drop of a hat! This medicine made me totally off the wall crazy. I will NEVER take it again! BEWARE! I was NOT myself! And had to stop the medication due to it's extreme side effects! I agree it should be removed from the market! NO sleep for days in a row. Yelling at my husband for no good reason. Lost weight because I didn't want to eat. It was a trip, I never want to go on again! The dr. wrote in their records that it was only a 10 day dexpak, after I complained about what the drug was doing to me! I'm sure the pharmacist has the accurate prescription. So, I'm going to make them correct their records! CYA is what they were doing in my opinion. This Dr. also wanted me to continuously spend $ for PT. Which we also found out that one of my problems was a torn bi-cept. AFTER they got $ out of me for PT, I'd had enough! I went and saw another Dr. which put me in the hospital immediately and did surgery to repair the bi-cept. Then I had another Dr. repair the ruptured Disk. Fortunately, I found 2 other good Dr.'s and had surgery to at least fix what we could for now. (Bicept & Disk) Now Rheumitoid arthritis has set in. And have to see a Rheumatologist. Now something else to deal with! Please be careful if you are prescribed this medicine!!!!! Read More Read Less

I was given this for asthma treatment , it worked well as far opening me up and breathing. The first side effect I noticed was insomnia as I continued taking them extreme dry mouth, on the last two days of the pack I woke up so sore I could barely move, extreme skin soreness in my arm, shoulders and back area.. I didn't take the last two days of it, and appetite increase and weight gain was an issue as well as stomach problems and heartburn .. I'll never take it again !!!

Was prescribed for severe, infected poison ivy (1st time event). Was dumbstruck that it worked on everything else! Arthritis in feet, knees and hands virtually disappeared; swelling nearly gone. Spider bite on elbow vanished. Total skin transformation on face...including bags under eyes gone and eyelids totally lifted (been sagging nearly shut for 1+ yrs. Swear it looks like I've had a face lift in 13 days. No exageration. Gums totally firm, with no softness at all. BUT!!! This stuff kicks my butt! Heart is constantly racing and feel full of anxiety one minute and the next minute feel like I can't stand on my wobbly legs. Feel like i need to just sit and lean over. Feel like there is literally a spare tire around my chest/waist and dont' sleep at night. I had ONE objective and that was to keep the poison ivy out of my blood stream. Had NO idea everything else would be effected. I can't decide if this is the best thing that ever happened to me....or if it's the biggest downer side-effects. Have to say I'm a bit nervous about what will happen when this gets out of my system....Read More Read Less

The closest thing I can find listed here for why I took this is asthma. Actually it was prescribed for bronchitis inflammation along with Ceftin for an UR. When I started the drug, I felt totally invincible and with the eerie sense of well being. No aches, no paines. However I immediately I began not to be able to sleep and when I did had extremely strange dreams and constant sweating. I went for six days without sleeping well. Then came the digestive problems with no food being digested by my body and completely backing up my system. Then came the constant hiccups, in groups of 10 for hours. Then came the constant reflux because my digestive system was full. I lost my voice due to the reflux. I thought things would settle down as I tapered the dose but more problems came as then. More sweats, more strange dreams, pounding heart, trouble breathing, constant itching all over, extreme weakness and periods of feeling faint and almost passing out. Then came the emotional instability with an uncontrollable rage. I have never been out of control like that. More weakness, depression, holding fluid and food. Finally four days after tapering the dosage I have begun to feel better. This product should be taken off the market because it has far too many side effects and could kill someone. I will instruct my physician NEVER to prescribe mt this product again.Read More Read Less

I was on a 10-day pack. Although I was pain free, it was the worst experience and will NEVER take it again. I do not do drugs - I was uncontrollably aggressive while taking Dexpak, existed on 3-4 hrs sleep each night, and experienced withdrawals with the shakes for a few hours the first and second morning and hallucinations one night after my last pill. I was super hyper and didn't care what I said or how I reacted - I think this is a dangerous medication and although I was pain free, it was not worth it and today is the 3rd day being off the meds and I am OK, but my pain has returned. NOT WORTH THE EXPERIENCE AND FREEDOM OF PAIN FOR 10 DAYS!Read More Read Less
