I have partial seizures and have tried every medication on the market, all with bad results (until Keppra). Depakote caused me to get a life-threatening case of pancreatitis (so BE CAREFUL!); Lamictal caused bruising and migraines; Topamax & Tegretol didn't work; et cetera. Many of them made me lose/gain weight and lose hair. I thought all hope was lost until they put me on Keppra. I've not lo...
This Drug made me crazy and irritable when in the company of other, when I would not normally act in such a fashion.

I am having problems walking and I have pain all over my body. I haven't been on this med for 1 month yet. Is this a side affect and will it go away?

it helped with seizure activity, but the personality changes, anger, hostility, irrational judgements, were worse than the seizures. It has been a living hell. I am the mother and it has been a heart crushing, emotional draining experience

I take lamictal 200 twice a day and lyrica 200 twice a day which may get increased. The Keppra put me to sleep when I got on heavier doses. I'm not put to sleep anymore but with all my meds I feel dazed, trouble concentrating, reading. Sometimes I just want to not take my meds for 1 day and see I'm living in a cloud or if there is another world out there. I can't though, if I'm late taking my meds I'll have a petti maul. Is there a world outside this fog? I don't say anything to my doc cause all the meds have worked into decreasing my seizures to a few a week.Read More Read Less

I take this med as part of adjunct therapy for tonic clonic seizures and I had a stroke 16 years ago. Since I have started this med 8 months ago, I have had a gradual decline in functioning of my right hand and arm. The right arm returned to a stiff bent position. My right leg also gradually returned to dragging as if I had another stroke. The arm and leg symptoms all occurred 16 yrs ago as a result of my stroke. I received therapy back then to restore function to those limbs, but it had gradually worsened since starting this med. I have been working with my neurologist to pinpoint the cause of these symptoms, but I truly feel it is a result of this med.Read More Read Less

This medication makes me so extremely tired about 3 hours after taking it. I sleep more now than I ever have in my life. Makes life hard when always so tired, especially with a small child.

My daughter takes this medication along with her Tegretol and we have been very pleased. The Tegretol alone was not working and she had many breakthrough seizures, especially when sick. She has a virus now and has had no seizures. I do however notice mood swings with her now, which is concerning, but you have to weigh out the benefits and they are worth it.

This medication was given to my husband and he had a severe hostile reaction to it. He wound up in jail for family violence. I would recommend a thorough review of all medications and interactions with medications before taking it.

I use this medication for neuropathy pain in my legs after 2 lumbar surgeries. This medicine helps me tremendously...to the point that i'm able to return to work. I take it at night because it really snows me, but i get a good nights sleep and i'm ready for the next day. Highly recommend it. :)

I started taking Keppra after Trileptal failed to control my seizures. Keppra has helped, but it has not completely stopped the seizures. I still have about 4 seizures a month. I have fatigue as a side effect and pins & needles sensations in my legs. Also, despite working out with a trainer and adhering to a mealplan, I haven't been able to lose weight

I've had to increase my dose to 1500mg AM and 2000mg PM. With these increases I've had major mood instability. Although this has been troublesome, my seizure frequency has decreased. I think the benefit outweighs the associated risks.

My wife take Keppra and she has a lot of dizziness, fatigue and at times confusion. The Dr says that is normal since she had brain surgery.
