I have spent many years trying to find a med that worked to control my blood pressure, but they were either ineffective or had unacceptable side effects. Finally, with Avalide my blood pressure is under control and I don't find that it hinders my very active lifestyle at all.

i have been on different b/p meds for 25 yrs. nothing has worked successfully. am on avalide for about 1 month. top no. came down, bottom is still 100-115. only problem is a little lightheadedness when i get up to fast, and i'm extremely itchy from head to toe. keeps me up all night. never had that side affect before.

I"m been taking the medication for 6 months. It does control my blood pressure but I become tired easily.

I began taking Avalide for my blood pressure and I will NEVER take these again. My heart was racing, it made me tired and it also gave me severe muscle cramps. These pills also made me feel like I was almost losing my mind. It never lowered my BP. If anything they made things worse. From looking at other reviews these pills are not so good. The doctor switched me back to Atenolol just a higher dosage and my heart rate returned to normal and I feel myself again.

i have been using for 2 weeks, has not helped, having fast heart beat. Feel like I have a brick on my chest.

Started taking Avalide 300/12.5 1/2 tab per day..about a month ago...Feeling tired and getting headaches several a week (normally get a headache once every 2-3 years), feeling tinkling in right hand (thumb) and arm... also feet in early morning feel like walking on water blisters... gained 5 lbs. and BP rose to 170/100 ... what gives...

Was on Avapro,taking Avalide 300-12.5,urinating more during the night, top number of BP is to low with a range of 95-100, notified my Doctor. I am 62 yrs old, Male.

I was very satisfied with the drug until I was admitted in the hospitl on Jan 17, 2010 for pancreatitis due to this medication. I stayed in the hospital for 5 days with severe abdominal and back pain. I was taken off the medication and placed on something else. I never want to experience this again.

Did not have a problem with ED with this med. Also was placed on metropol, and that has caused ED issues.

Is there a generic for this medacine

Switched from Hyzaar because of cost but have experienced ED and loss of libido despite taking Cialis, watching diet and exercising regularly. Will ask my doctor to switch me back or try another drug.

Is this drug causing my hair loss? Also some cysts on my pancreaus?

I might get an upset stomach if I take it with water early in the morning. That is the reason why I have gotten used to taking it after breakfast or with juice.
