I have Metastatic Melanoma in my lungs Stage IV I have had 27 treatments and I am stable as of now. I do not get sick from this drug, I have not lost any weight nor many of the other side effects that they tell you to watch for. My Thyroid acted up a bit, but that's all. I thank God for this drug every day.

The side effects were the worst. The treatment with this drug was stopped after the first dose.

After a radical cystectomy and two additional surgeries for recurrences of bladder cancer I started Keytruda infusions 2 1/2 years ago, treatment #44 coming up. Slight adjustment required in thyroid med, and mild skin rashes and mouth sores were the only side effects for me. Keytruda has been a godsend for me, but I see others have had very serious problems. Hopefully with more research there will be a way to screen patients who will be treated successfully with the drug.

I am 76 years old and I had my first Keytruda Treatment in early November along with other chemo a week later. The first treatment went well. The 2nd round of Keytruda not so good. I immediately starting have breathing problems getting shortness of breath whenever I exerted my self with daily routines. I had COPD along with the cancer and used oxygen every night prior to beginning treatment. I was told this was the Miracle drug. refused to take the 3rd round because I now have to use oxygen all the time, I cannot hardly function with daily activities nor walk from the kitchen to the bathroom without getting so out of breath that I have to sit down. Using wheel chair when in stores etc now. My life has totally changed and gone from functional too barely being able to do anything now. I hope I get better and don't die from it!!!Read More Read Less

My husband has stage 4 melanoma. The tumors were surgically removed along with 3 lymph nodes. Only one lymph had melanoma, the others had lymphoma-slow growing. melanoma will just come right back, we opted to try this immunotherapy to keep it at bay longer. He has had some rash. He's always had joint issues and those may be irritated by the Ketruda but so far, so good. People need to keep in mind that for people like my husband, if he did nothing, the cancer would come back and take his life eventually. Up until this immunotherapy became available, patients like him were told to get their affairs in order and to get checked for new tumors to have them removed if possible, but the mortality rate was very bad. Also, many people have other issues besides just the cancer. It's important to stay as healthy as possible and cut out or limit sugars, carbs that convert to sugar and alcohol. Unfortunately, so much of our environment and food is causing our cancers in the first place.Read More Read Less

My husband was diagnosed with malignant melanoma of the omentum with matastases to brain and bone. This is not related to the skin melanoma. He received 1 dose of Keytruda and Yervoy. He developed the GI symptoms with severe diarrhea. Within 6 weeks he was dead from the side effects. Think 1000+ times before your, or a loved one, receives this horrible drug. IT DOES NOT SAVE EVERYONE’s life

My father had 3 doses of Keytruda, then died from pneumonitis (Keytruda lung). After each dose of Keytruda, he was hospitalized for severe reactions - seziure, internal bleeding.... Yet, the doctors continued to give it to him. The commercials are misleading. I do not recommend this drug based on our experience.

My husband never had another good day after one treatment with Keytruda. He immediately and dramatically started losing both his physical and mental faculties, and within two weeks he was dead. Don't let your doctor talk you into taking this drug! Too often they just do what the pharmaceutical companies tell them to do in order to keep improving their bottom lines. This drug will rob you of your loved one before death ultimately takes him/her. Just say NO to Keytruda!

I have stage 4 melanoma and have been on pembrolizumab for 2 years and 8 months, 39 treatments in total. Of the 7 tumors i had only 1 is left measuring 13mm so a great result as far as I'm concerned. The largest, which was 90mm has gone completely. I have had some side effects mainly skin rashes but nothing to stop me doing anything.

I have been given Keytruda infusions through my port every 3 weeks for Metastatic Malignant Melanoma Stage 3b for the last 8 months. I have had surgery to remove over half of my calve and removal of lymph nodes in my groin that were malignant. I have had great success thus far with Keytruda. I have 4 more treatments. All my scans are currently clear. Side effects have been fatigue, constipation, ad issues falling asleep. Almost like restless leg syndrome. Most days I feel pretty good. I sometimes will do too much and feel as if I worked out for hours. Then I'm down resting most of the next day. This drug has been helping my situation. I'm sorry for those whom loved ones did not do well. Read More Read Less

My mother was given 3 months at most with no treatments, she did the radiation and that did not work and then the offered her Keytruda and aprox 2.5 weeks after the treatment she went in for her labs was told she could have the 2nd dose the following Thursday and she never got to she died that Tuesday afternoon! We noticed she was not herself that Friday 1 day after her checkup and labs. And the Oncol. and his nurse asked what happened she was perfect. I stated well you tell us, you sent her home from the appointment and said all was good!Read More Read Less

I was given 6 months after chemo and radiation . We debated about keytruda because of the reviews. My Dr. assured us it was our best option. I have been taking keytruda for eleven months and am now considered in remission. I write this because I want people to realize it is a blessing for some people.

After 6 treatments the drug is not working it would have been better off staying on another line of chemo which is not painfully debilitating like a true de is it has destroyed my ability to walk and now I have severe muscle pain all over my body and I am bedridden I do not know if these effects will go away no one has the answer I would stay away from any type of immunotherapy chemotherapy obviously been better for me in the past as I feel and I can walk and I'm out of bed at least when I take chemotherapy stay away from it doesn't workRead More Read Less

I can tell you I felt better before I took a truda keytruda has made my legs very weak I can no longer stand on my own it is made me very tired and the tumors are still growing in my lungs this does not work for anybody and that's the problem they can't just put people on it as a gamble because it can definitely ruin your life and I could make you have no quality of life because of the effects of it it's a gamble doctors are taking they don't truly know what it does for the people that it doesn't do anything for especially when it was just approved for cervical cancer they don't have any studies I haven't seen anything on the Internet or had my doctor tell me about anyone who has cervical cancer that has had success with keytruda so we are all Lab Rats right now until they figure out exactly if it really does work or not I would say stay away from itRead More Read Less

Shame on these pharm companies who fool people with these false ads and play with people's lives at any cost. This drug causes serious heart issues and MUST be taken off the market. It is not effective even 1%. Shame on you and your doctors who encourage patients to take them.
