I had the Paragard and was always bleeding during/after sex, so I switched to the pill. I heard nightmares about taking the pill and was nervous. I can honestly say there have been very minimal side effects for me. I'll mention the ones you hear most about. I spotted for the first month or two. My periods were lighter right off the bat, though. After being on it for 5 months now, my period lasts o...

I have been scared to death that something was seriously wrong with me until I read reviews here! I have been having spotting and break through bleeding the entire 4 months I've been taking this and have had random cramping at all times of the month with last night being the absolute worst waking me up in the middle of the night and lasting for two hours before I could go back to sleep. I tried to...

I've been taking this OCP for the last 6 months and haven't had any issues other than some light spotting and moodiness the first 2 months which I expected. Other than that, no issues and no babies.

I was on another birth control pill before this one and it did not work. I had 20 day periods and they would stop for a few days then start again. They were absolutely heavy too. After I started this pill my periods went to 5 days long barely heavy every 28 days exactly. This pill took away my horrible cramps and is also a great birth control.

This is the first BC I have taken, so I don't have anything else to compare it to. I've almost finished my first pack of pills. I was put on it because ever since I started having periods they have been dreadfully long, heavy, painful, and extremely irregular. I gave it time, and it just never really evened out... So they put me on Lomedia. My first period on this was lighter. My first 4-5 days on this pill, I had extremely bad nausea, and I didn't want to get out of bed or eat. I felt like I was sick with the flu or something. My acne got worse and I've had horrible breakthrough bleeding since I finished my period, to the point where I'm bleeding through pantiliners VERY quickly and having to use pretty absorbent pads to manage it. The transition is obviously not going smoothly. I hope that these pills start to work!! I'm so frustrated that I'm having these side effects, and hope that they go away. My doctor said give it 3 months, but I'm struggling to get through the very first one!! I know my body has never been on a pill like this before, so I need to give it time, but I hope that it gets better, because I feel like I'm sacrificing an awful lot just to get used to a pill!!Read More Read Less

This has been the best form of birth control I have taken. I have taken three different types of birth control over the years. The implant made me constantly bleed, nuva ring would not stay in and mirena came out. Lomedia keeps my cycle regular and only lasting 4 days and not as heavy as I have had in the past. My moods have been much better, I am usually emotional and cry at the drop of a hat and this has not happened. Cramping is usually intense but since on this medication I get one day of cramping which is the day before. I have not had any pregnancy scares so effectiveness has been good. The only down side has been it gave me a upset stomach after taking it in the morning. So I changed the time of day I take it, so now I take it after dinner when I am sure I eat a full meal and the upset stomach has subsided. Read More Read Less

I am a 20 year old and this had been my first birth control pill and unfortunately I was not happy. Into my second week I experienced all day long stomach aches and constantly feeling like I was going to throw-up, instant tiredness started to happen and horrible headaches. It was the worst experience for me.

This is the best birth control I have ever taken. I have always had heavy periods, painful PMS, and horrible acne. Within one full pack of this by periods are practically nothing and my face is completely clear. It's amazing and makes me feel like I'm living a better quality life without the pain and horrible acne.

I have been on TriSprintec for years. I have been crazy around week 3 for years. This is my first month on LoMedia - I had my first period and the lightness of it was incredible. I would bleed through all of my tampons on TriSprintec. My blood flow is so light on the LoMedia, I feel like I should have taken this years ago. My cramping wasn't bad at all. I haven't experienced any terrible side effects either - perhaps a little weight gain, but that may be my diet and exercise. TriSprintec seriously made me feel crazy, terribly moody, and my periods were so heavy. Lomedia one month in is like a breath of fresh air. No babies either so that is great! Will update if things change. Read More Read Less

This has been a bad experience for me. I’m 28, very active, and weigh 108 lbs. I was on the Lomedia 24 Fe for one month and during that month I had terrible acne all over my forehead and mood swings - some days I would wake up in a bad mood. This absolutely murdered my sex drive and my ability to have an orgasm. I did not get my period while on the medication either. I had a pregnancy test done and it came up negative. I’m hoping to find a birth control that works for me soon.

After about two weeks of taking this medicationI discovered I had multiple blood clots in my lungs. Go see your doctor immediately if you notice shortness of breath from this medication. Overall, not impressed.

This birth control has been great for my endometriosis. The first month was rough switching but I am glad that I did. No more bleeding, or cramps. I must warn you that you can and most likely will gain weight from this product. I went from 130 to 206 in two months. Of course I should have been a lot more careful with what I was eating and how much I was working out. I am currently trying to loose the weight but it is a long journey. Over all I would still HIGHLY recommend this birth control

I am very happy with this medication. I take it for medical reasons and not for contraceptive reasons. My abnormal, heavy bleeding has stopped completely because It prevents me from ovulating, which I love. The only side effect is weight gain, not too much but it is a pain that doesn't want to go away. This medication works and it works well for me.

I'm not complaining though...and neither is my boyfriend. Zero mood swings. Zero weight gain. It helped my hormonal acne go away, as well. Sex drive is still through the roof - no diminished libido for this girl. Fingers crossed nothing comes up the longer I'm on it. Oh, and most importantly - no babies! It works. This pill is great.Read More Read Less

I've been using it for 4 months now, and the only bad sides of this drug where the lack of sex drive for the first 2 months. This pill is wonderful though. I used to bleed heavy for 6 days but now I'm light for 4, and it's pregnancy protection at its finest

I felt the need to leave a review for this medication in the hopes that it will benefit someone in the same position as me a few months ago. I dragged my feet for two years on picking a birth control after a bad experience with a different birth control pill. My advice is to try a few different pill brands untill you find one that your body responds well too! This one works perfect for me no side effects no spotting in between. Everyone is different however. Also I like that this pill has 4 days of no hormones as opposed to the seven others have. This somewhat helps to guarantee you a shorter period because some people bleed on all the days they are not taking active pills.Read More Read Less

I just finished my second cycle of Lomedia. I have never used birth control before so I was really nervous about it. The first month was kind of rough as I was bleeding the whole time and very tired and irritable, and my acne showed no improvement. However, this second month my energy is up, I haven't been bleeding the whole month (but I do notice more discharge than normal) and my acne seems to be clearing up! Hoping I won't experience any negative side effects like weight gain on my third pack. Read More Read Less

Before I switched to Lomedia I was taking Minastrin 24 fe I switched back to that brand today. I've been using Lomedia for 4 months now and the side effects are horrible. It makes me gas so I constantly feel like I have to burp, food I eat all the time usually has been making me throw up, anything I eat has a bad after taste now, and my period is inconsistent and I randomly cramp throughout the month. I have too many pregnant symptoms not to be pregnant. I would not recommend this birth control to anyone. If you can go with Minastrin I never had an issue with that brand I just had a mix up with my insurance company.Read More Read Less

Of course, just like almost every other review I've read I was extremely upset when I found out they discontinued Lostrin. I've been on 15-20 kinds of bc & that was the only one that's worked for me, until Lomedia. While I did gain a few pounds the first few months on it, that's been the only negative side effect. Cramps are minimal if I have any, my period is only 3-4 days & never very heavy, & no acne! I would recommend this highly.

I was hopeful that this would be my answer after Loestrin 24 FE was discontinued. I was on that pill for years with zero problems. I'm 34 and I've tried a number of pills in the past 14 years, and this is one of the worst experiences I've had (Yaz was the worst). Crazy mood swings (which has never happened to me on BC), really swollen and painful breasts, AWFUL bloating and weight gain (4 lbs in the first week, and it stayed), and worst of all I was bleeding from the second week to the end of the pack. Some of this was spotting, but about 3/4 of it was full on breakthrough bleeding that required a pad (not just a liner). I normally give pills a few months but this is so bad I quit after one month. Disappointed.Read More Read Less

I have been on Lomedia for almost a complete pack now - prescribed by my dermatologist for acne. I have never been on birth control before so I was very nervous about side effects. I am disappointed because my acne has shown little to no improvement (I am also taking doxycyline and using Aczone gel). However, I have noticed no other side effects except for occasional slight moodiness. It could be that the gel I am using is making my acne worse or something but I can't tell. I will stick this out for two more packs but if after that I see no improvement in my acne I will most likely switch to another brand. Read More Read Less
