I wanted to give up. I was going to, I know this. It was my last chance of trying anymore anti depressants, and to my surprise, it has worked. I do not think of taking my life anymore. I'm not 100% there, but being on it now for five weeks, I feel better each day that passes. It saved me!

I have only been on drug for 2 weeks. I have experienced a few side effects. I have had a few brief episodes when I felt like I couldn't get my breath and breathing was heavy. I have had these spells occasionally r/t my MS in the past so not sure what to blame it on. I noticed a slight improvement in mood and activity level on day 3(yes day 3). I couldn't believe it) but it has continued to improve each day. I have been up and around doing some things at home. More than I have done for months. A few headaches the first few days but nothing major. I have had some issues with fine motor skills as when using computer I have had some fine little twitches of fingers. It takes me longer to enter work data. Initially the first week my brain felt scrambled and spacey as I kind of walked around in circles not accomplishing anything . That thankfully is subsiding. I have had past issues with blurry vision, again attributed to MS but that has been worse since I started the drug. I am hoping that it also will resolve. Overall these side effects have not been terrible for me. Some have resolved already, and I am hoping the others will resolve as well. So far I am happy with my overall improvement and hope it will continue.. I will continue to take this drug unless I were to develop a serious side effect. I just want to have some energy so I can improve my quality of life.......Read More Read Less

Was on Wellbutrin for 12 years and wanted to quit taking. thought wellbutrin stopped working; I hated myself, thoughts of suicide daily, unable to focus at work, wound up all the time, no drive to do anything and memory issues. My DR said to try fetzima, i was not ready to be completely off meds. I took both fetzima and wellbutrin first week, now only on fetzima for 3 weeks now. For me it seems to be working. I am a little more mellow and patient, no suicide thoughts and think i am accomplishing more at work, my employees say i am more "dialed in". curbed appetite at first but all is normal there now. Sleep maybe a little more interrupted but also got new mattress that i dont like, hard to tell which it is. I do get hot and cold more often. Will continue taking as i feel better than i have in a long time. the pharmacist told me Fetz is still in trial stage so feedback is important.Read More Read Less

Day 3. Like everyone else, agitation and irritability. Not like me to be so uptight. It also is making my nose runny a lot which seems to be some type of allergic reaction. Not clear with the agitation by so many hiw this drug could receive FDA approval.

This med has had Positives (+) and negatives (-) TAKE WITH LOTS OF FOOD you will see why after reading this... (+) More energy, not as depressed, decreased appetite, some of my sensory issues have gotten better, (-) Blood Pressure and pulse went through the roof while taking (80mg), constipation, I now have a hole in my stomach and had to drop to 40mg again and am having break through symptoms such as agitation and irritability and anxiety issues are still of concern. Is this medication worth taking??? I guess the real question is; are you ready for the medication to treat the medication" side effects. Dropped to 40mg On a major stomach med and other then break through symptoms... mild weeping, the normal anxiety for me and irritation I am doing ok. No casualties from the irritation so we are all good for the moment.... JUST TAKE THIS MEDICATION WITH FOOD WHAT EVER YOU DO...Read More Read Less

I have been on this medication now for about 3 weeks. I am not sure what to think yet. The first couple of days I was constipated. That has passed though. I have felt a little more easily aggravated. I also have more energy. My Depressive thoughts and bouts of crying are still around. Its like I'm not that way all day but for periods it feels like I'm not taking anything. Then again I have a lot going on. The Energy Thing is really important too me. Cause I have taken numerous different anti depressants that really haven't worked. So I think Im going to ask Dr to raise mg's from 40 to 60 or 80 and see how that works. I will return with a review after a few weeksRead More Read Less

Generally had some headaches the first week and decreased appetite, a good thing. Three weeks into it my mood is better. I had lots of aches and pains that went away; a positive as well.

Switched to this after years of taking Lexapro... had such extreme withdrawal symptoms I had to stop everything, wait for the Lexapro withdrawal to stop, and start back up on Fetzima. It has not really helped my depression but has given me more energy than I've ever had in my life. I am able to keep busy and get things done without trouble concentrating. It's a good trade off for me. Raises blood pressure, but not by much.

Went from 40mg of lexapro to 60mg of fetzima, Onset side effects were, increased anxiety, agitation, heart palpitations, consipation, sweaty. after six weeks did not subside and mood did not improve. This is not a calming drug at all. Would not recomend if you have anxiety issues. On to zoloft with fingers crossed.

After having poor luck with Brintellix, my Dr. switched me to Fetzima and gave me samples. This is my first day trying Fetzima. After taking the first capsule, within 3 hours urination was all but impossible. Six hours later there was no change. Nine hours later I could at least urinate continuously albeit slowly. Naturally the starter samples were given to me on a Friday so I will not be able to report this to my Dr. until Mon. I will discontinue immediately since I only took the single 40mg dose. It's too bad because unlike my first dose of Brintellix which made me terrible sick, this first dose was well tolerated. Too bad the only side effect I have encountered thus far is one that is classified as a 'serious side effect'. So far, I haven't the potage that's just right. I think I'd like to just go back to Celexa. For those having success, I'm happy to hear that it's helping.Read More Read Less

Switched from Effexor XR 75mg to Fetzima 40mg. Took 20mg first two days then 40mg daily. I feel great and unwanted sexual side effects from Effexor are gone. During transition i read to take Benedryl to help with withdraw from Effexor XR and it WORKS!!! I almost thought I couldnt get through it but the benedryl made it possible. Very happy. So far so good.

I've been taking 80 mg. for a few months, beginning with 40 mg. Had been mod/severely depressed for a few weeks, now only moderately depressed. That might have been passing phase anyway. Most noticeable benefit is feel less anxious, but also less energetic.

Within two 2 days of being on 20mg my whole body felt like it was sunburned. Seemed to subside with 2 days. Increased to 40 mg, burning sensation(no sign of rash) and urge to itch came on full force. After 8 days could not tolerate. It was upsetting because it began to improve my mood.

Took this medication for a month. Started with 20 mg. which was fine, but as soon as I moved up to 40 mg, I started having hot flashes almost every day. But the worst side effect was the constipation. Only time I could have a bowel movement was by taking a laxative. Certainly don't want to do that on a regular basis. Doctor agreed and switched me to Brintellix which is working wonderfully.
