I wanted to give up. I was going to, I know this. It was my last chance of trying anymore anti depressants, and to my surprise, it has worked. I do not think of taking my life anymore. I'm not 100% there, but being on it now for five weeks, I feel better each day that passes. It saved me!

I had been on a combination of Celexa and Wellbutrin for the last couple of years and it seemed to be working. However, I began noticing moods swings the last couple of months and mentioned it to my doctor last week. He gave me a two week sample of Fetzima. Take daily 20mg for the first two days and 40mg daily after that. First week I just experiencing nausea. Into my second week now and still have the nausea. In addition, I am EXTREMELY irritable and feel like throwing things. Last night I found myself crying and just wanting to run away from life. I was hoping to give it the remainder of the week; however, I do not think I am going to make it. Calling my doctor today to discuss. If you are prescribed Fetzima, please be aware of the side effects.Read More Read Less

My Dr. Switch me from paxil because of weight gain to fetzima 40mg for anxiety and depression. I started feeling the Side effects (constant headache, hot flashes that would make me feel if I were coming down with a fever, and nausea) in two days. Even though fetzima worked for my anxiety And depression the side effects were unbearable. So I bumped the mg to 20mg a day. I went from having headaches from 4 times a day to 2 times a day and hot flashes from twice a day to once a day. Today I stopped taking it and had NO HEADACHES OR HOT FLASHES !. I will be going back to my dr. And ask for something that has been in the marker for a long time...Read More Read Less

Was on 450 mg of Effexor with sexual side effects and weight gain. Tried to get off it many times. Fetzima was effective on 120 mg then became less effective. Slowly increased dosage to 240 mg and finally seems to be working without becoming less effective after 1 month on this dose. Had stomach pain and was up to 200 mg of Prilosec but, have been decreasing slowly. Now on 140 mg Prilosec. Appetite is reduced and sexual side effects have abated too much. Will be trying a little Effexor(75 mg) to ease off sexual potency.Read More Read Less

My doctor tapered me off Zoloft & Abilify and onto Fetzima. In the three weeks I have been taking it, the way I feel and my mood have worsened sharply to the point where now all I want to do is cry. I don't see him till next week but I don't think I can stand it that much longer. I have to be able to go to work and right now I'm worthless.

Hello, I was diagnosed with Gad ( general anxiety disorder) about 9 months ago and although I have struggled with this most of my life ( social anxiety ) , it was time to do something about it due to some added stress and anxiety going on in my life at the time.so, my doctor put me on Lexa pro 10 mg. and although, it worked really well, I gained about 30 lbs. on it so she is trying me of Fezima. Started on 40mg. , then slowly increased to 120mg. Im 3 weeks into it now. at first I had some nausea, restlessness, and seem to sweat alot more. plus side: LOTS of added energy , I like that part. hoping that I start loosing weight which is the only reason for switching in the first place. But, overall I am happy with the results and would recommend giving it a chance. i will post later on any weight loss results as well. I pray, this works for me as far as that part goes. ~God Bless~Read More Read Less

I have tried endless depression meds in my past 40 years and NEVER could stay with any except for Prozac many years ago. Started Fetzima 40 mg 2-14 after getting off Cymbalta. Surprise! It's fantastic for me except I have become MORE organized and detailed oriented than I USUALLY am so that become a nuisance fir me and my husband as well :-) I had chronic insomnia and I'm taking 100 mg. Trazadone (took it for years then quit for a few) ANYWAY - I'm sleeping better not longer and generally quite happy with MYSELF! After all of these years, it's kind of fun to "like" myself!Read More Read Less

I've been on well over a dozen anti-depressants with no benefit. My doctor suggested Fetzima. Within 24 hours of the first capsule I had difficulty urinating. It only got worse. This is a powerful drug.

Been on 120mg about 3 mos, this drug is extremely expensive even with insurance. My mood and depression have gotten worse than ever before. My face broke out and I've never had acne before in my life. Can't wait to get off it! Double thumbs down!

I am 21 years old. Recently in the passed few months have been feeling really bad about myself. (Was on celexa last year for a few weeks and did not work, I stopped taking it and felt better) But, not so much feeling great now. I have suicidal thoughts, feel SUPER anxious all of the time, I can't stop thinking, I feel trapped in my head. I have been taking Fetzima for 20 days now and I feel worse. I have night sweats, super irritable, more anxious than ever, having crazy dreams and thinking a LOT more in my head. I always have the urge to cry, I have no energy at all. This drug did not help me whatsoever. I just want to feel better.Read More Read Less

This is my time taking a medicine for depression. So I'm not to sure how good or bad it is working. I just took my 3 day dose of 40mg and took 20mg the first 2 days. So far it seems to be helping my depression some as I was usually mostly depressed as I was trying to sleep. I've been taking my dose 1-2 hours before bed and have not been stressing on everything like before. But I too have noticed some breathing issues like it's hard to breathe especially right after taking it which is kinda scary as like I said sleep not to long after taking it. Also starting to as of now and all over my body. I hope I'm not getting a rash as some have mentioned. Some minor headaches as well. I'm just gonna see how bad the side affects get and hopefully go away like some have mentioned as well. Read More Read Less

I have tried almost every anti-depressant available since starting treatment back in the '80s. Absolutely nothing worked. Nothing. Doc talked me into trying Brintellix -FAIL due to becoming extremely agressive and hostile. Switched to Fetzima and am at full maximum dose of 120mg as recommended by the manufacturer. No side effects at all. I have felt a very minimal increase in my energy levels and it is a little bit easier getting out of bed. But being at the maximum dose for over a month I had expected more tha just another FAIL. I feel nothing. There is no hope. There never was . . . Read More Read Less

I have been on this medication for less than two weeks. First, I did experience nausea for about 4-5 days. Now I am getting hot flashes, headaches, increased blood pressure, lightheadedness, insomnia, and still urges to cry off and on. I am going to try for a few more days and monitor my blood pressure. if no change or increased blood pressure, I will call my doctor. Previously on Zoloft and Effexor. I gained a tremendous amount of weight. I tried Brintellix for about a week. The side effects were too much to handle.Read More Read Less

I was put on this medication for Fibromyalgia, I know that it hasn't been approved for this illness ( but it should be) I feel fantastic! It does give you more energy and allertness. I'm not a slug anymore. My Husband has asked me, what are you taking? Yes He loves my new energy level. My mood is better, and Yes I want to do things again instead of just laying around. But I have noticed that sometimes my pulse will speed up, I don't like that part of it. I was on 40mg and recentley moved to 80mg. This medicine is a god send for chronic fatigue of any kind. Thanks to the scientist who invented this medication and for the drug company to get it on the market for us that suffer from either depression, or major fatigue. Read More Read Less

I'm only 12 days in, but it seems to be working just fine. No bad side effects. I take 40mg after dinner and sleep soundly. I also take 300mg wellbutrin and I haven't found the combination to be too stimulating (added anxiety). I know this is going to sound unbelievable but I've lost 9 lbs since on it and no sweet cravings at all. Appetite is low but I noticed more interest in food today. I was on celexa for almost 2 yrs and gained 20 lbs! Maybe the weight loss will continue so I can get back into my regular jeans!Read More Read Less

I am taking 80mg of Fetzima SR for bipolar depression. It has been a very good drug for me, alleviating depressive symptoms that other medications (like Cymbalta, Zoloft, Effexor, Prozac) could not even touch. For the first 10 days, I did experience bad and uncomfortable hot and cold sweats. But I toughed it out.I have been on Fetzima since the end of May and it has helped me tremendously, especially with apathy, sadness, low energy, social anxiety, etc. etc. Some of the side effects are rough, but overall worth hanging in there to see what it will do for you.Read More Read Less
