I have been taking this for almost a month and a half, so I think it's been long enough to review. I have never taken any birth control pills before and got mine from Planned Parenthood. Foremost, it's effective since I'm not pregnant (let's keep it that way for now). Periods are slightly lighter, but I've always had a light period. I have acne-prone skin. My skin has slightly improved, but still ...
I only took one pill for one day (I know not long at all), but immediately felt a couple side effects and as the day went on, I was experiencing many many symptoms. It freaked me out and I'm not going to take it anymore. At first I felt nauseous and dizzy/headache. Then after a couple hours the crazy mood swings and emotional roller coaster kicked in. I was going through all the emotions-angry...
I'm a non smoker, 5ft5 115lbs, exercise rarely (but active often), usual period before Aubra: mild to very uncomfortable cramps; heavy bleeding 2nd day, lasts 5-6 days I've been taking the Aubra pill for two months now and haven't had any issues. My period lasted my usual 5 days, though it wasn't as heavy as usual. Cramps were significantly less painful & I've been happy with it so far! Plus I'm not pregnant - yippee !

I'm a little taken back by all of the nasty reviews of this particular birth control. I've always got my BC at Planned Parenthood. From 18 to 25 years old I was on the same one, I forget the name. Just recently (6 months ago) they changed me to Aubra, and I personally love it! My periods are lighter, and only last 3-5 days. My cramps are only bad on day one. Also, I have always had a hard time gaining weight, and this has put a nice 10 pounds on me (which not everyone will love) but I personally do :) Weight gain, bigger boobs, higher sex drive, lighter shorter periods, and never feeling nauseated or have headaches. I recommend if looking for a change, try it out, if it doesn't work then switch. At least give it a shot :)Read More Read Less

I was on Ortho Tricyclen for 9 years with no problems. I started Aubra 1 month ago and stopped 3 weeks into it. I had my period for 2.5 weeks, spotting, headaches, severe acne (which is COMPLETELY uncommon for me), as well as blurred vision. I will NEVER use this BC pill again.

This med gave me a migraine that lasted for days, the worst cramps I have ever had, and I was nauseous. It was AWFUL. Do not start it.

I started on Aubra about a year ago when it was given to me at Planned Parenthood and recently have been experiencing a lot of spotting. It's not heavy bleeding but more of a dark consistency for about 3 weeks straight. I haven't had any other side effects as far as headaches or cramps though. After reading the other reviews it seems this isn't a rare thing. I guess I'll be going back to them to see about getting a different pill.

I was on Lutera for years with no probs, then was switched to Aubra and it was HORRIBLE.. migraines almost every day, hives, relentless coldsores.. went back after 2 months of dealing with it and switched back to Lutera and have had no problems ever since

I was on Lutera for one year, it was GREAT. Went in to get new birth control and they advised me to start taking Aubra. Less than two months I get light bleeding everyday if not every other day. Same goes with headaches. Dryness has occurred and lost sex drive. Im not pregnant which is good so it is effective but these side effects outweigh everything else.

I have extreme headaches. I've always had them but not everyday like this and I'm starting to think that its the BC. It works different for everyone! I'm going back to the doctor to get a different birth control.

Even though it's not on the list of side effects, I believe my vaginal dryness is caused by Aubra, considering the lutera I was on never caused it, but it started when I switched.

Due to confidentiality reasons, I went to Planned Parenthood for birth control where they prescribed "Aubra". I had my period for 3 weeks straight with migraines, nausea, and severe cramping. Finally, I decided to go to my family practitioner who prescribed a birth control with half the estrogen in it which she hopes will decrease my symptoms... USE CAUTION WHEN TAKING THIS BIRTH CONTROL!
