I have been taking this for almost a month and a half, so I think it's been long enough to review. I have never taken any birth control pills before and got mine from Planned Parenthood. Foremost, it's effective since I'm not pregnant (let's keep it that way for now). Periods are slightly lighter, but I've always had a light period. I have acne-prone skin. My skin has slightly improved, but still ...

I only took one pill for one day (I know not long at all), but immediately felt a couple side effects and as the day went on, I was experiencing many many symptoms. It freaked me out and I'm not going to take it anymore. At first I felt nauseous and dizzy/headache. Then after a couple hours the crazy mood swings and emotional roller coaster kicked in. I was going through all the emotions-angry...

Never took any BC before this. I had heavy periods, strong cramps and long menstruation periods. This pill helped to resolve all of these issues and I have been on it for over 2 years now.

I got this medication from Planned Parenthood for birth control reasons. I've only been on Aubra for about 2 months but I feel that's long enough to tell if my body likes it or not. The first month for me was a little rough. I had headaches constantly and had mood swings. Basically, I've gotten all of the side effects from using hormonal birth control this first month. I am nearing the end of my 2nd month and this pill has been AWESOME! It kind of makes up for that first month lol. My skin is clear and soft, I'm am calmer and feel more emotionally stable. No more head aches and my period was shortened by a few days. I will continue to take Aubra. My skin is super clear, I havenRead More Read Less

I have read TONS of reviews where ladies have complained about experiencing terrible side effects such as weight gain and mood swings. I know prior to taking Aubra my PMS were so bad. I would get mad at my boyfriend all the time but this month I have been very mellow and calm. also it has really lightened my period. I usually go through 4 super tampons every day but now I only go through 1 super tampon and the rest are just regular and lite with a lining. I noticed that people only come to these websites to complain but here I am to reassure some ladies who are absolutely afraid (like I was) to take Aubra. But you also have to remember that birth control works differently for everyone. good luck to anyone taking it :)Read More Read Less

My skin has slightly improved, but still need more time to see if it's from taking this. No significant weight gain, but my weight has fluctuate a few pounds from time to time. I'm relatively a calm person, but I did notice I have had a few more PMS moments where I will get depressed and cry out of the blue. It doesn't last too long and goes away quickly. However, there was a day I forgot to take the pill. Therefore, I double-dosed it the next day and I was hysterically crying for a good while the following day. I was so concerned I even had to call my friend to see if this was normal (btw, it's normal and can happen). DON'T SKIP A DAY! Regardless of these experiences, I'd still consider myself an emotionally-stable person with this. Prior to taking this, I was really nervous because of the bad reviews I saw, but I've been fine with it thus far. NOTE TO ANYONE WHO IS SCARED/CONCERNED: People will tend to write reviews if they have a really bad experience or a really good one. Neutral ones, like myself, will typically not write a review. I'm doing this for any ladies taking the Aubra plunge. Hopefully this review puts some minds at ease. Read More Read Less

I have very mixed feelings about this birth control. It does work, but for the first month I had the worst anxiety and depression. The anxiety made me so on edge I barely slept. After the first few weeks, it went away. On the bright side, it cleared my skin. It does make my period have a lighter flow but it last longer. The only reason I havent switched is because I received this birth control from planned parenthood and have a lot left. The depression and anxiety went away after the first month but it took a while for me to get accustomed to the hormonesRead More Read Less

So I figured why not I have too see if i will be victim too. I suffer from PMS sooooo bad and mood swings. With this pill it was totally opposite from me!!! I dont have PMS Its like im the calmest person ever I can think with a clear head and Im so much more happier!! No weight gain nothing different with acne I feel normal and great!! Im almost done with my second month and I pray everything stays this way!Read More Read Less

Ive been taking it for more than a month now and honestly i've never been this anxious or depressed in my life. I'm always angry but then start crying. I think they should mention how much it messes with your emotions. Anyways, the hormones in it didn't cause me any physical side effect, only mental.

I have been taking this for nearly a month now. I will say that my first period while taking the medication was very light and short, I haven't had any appetite changes. But my mood swings are awful. I get so angry, it has been affecting my relationship. I may have to switch to something else.

I really don't know what to think about Aubra. I am an anxious individual to begin with but birth control has heightened it to an unnatural level in the past and I think it's happening again. My boobs get extremely sore each month, while my periods are regular they vary in flow. And I am irritable all of the time which is not good for my relationship. I've been taking this for almost 8 months now, I was on depo before and the same thing happened. This time around, I have stomach cramps, I feel lightheaded whenever I try to exercise, I have ongoing nausea and sometimes I get blurred vision. Starting to think it's time to switch.Read More Read Less

Aubra has been my first form of birth control, and I have been on it for about seven months now. My first month on the pill was challenging- I had two heavy, crampy periods and my acne got worse. However, after my body got used to the hormones I've had no complications at all. It keeps my skin clear and my periods are much lighter (however they do seem to last longer, but that's just my experience). Also I don't get pregnant so that's pretty great too.

I've been taking aubra for about a month now. It's helped prevent pregnancy, so far, but my mood swings are terrible! I feel like throughout the day my moods range from happy, to anxious, to irritable, to downright depressed. And please note that before the pill, I was a very emotionally stable person. I've never before had issues with severe depression or anxiety. When I first started the pill I felt okay but about a week into it, my emotions were a complete roller coaster. I cry all the time, usually for no apparent reason, and I'm also hungry 24/7. I'll probably switch to another brand in the next month if my moods continue to be out of control.Read More Read Less

I was nervous about taking Aubra but it works fine. I prefer Alysse or Avianne but I guess Aubra was the generic form. I took it for about 9 months before moving and now having to switch again. I didn't get acne, my periods were light and I didn't gain weight.

I have been using this birth control for over a month now. It's kept me form getting pregnant of course, but I have some side effects. Not sure if these are from the pill or just personal but I will list them anyways. They made me INCREDIBLY HUNGRY. I gained weight and an appetite after starting them. The pills are small and easy to swallow which is nice. I also have a seriously decreased libido. Again, not sure if this is personal or the pills, but I basically find I am never in the mood to have sex at all anymore! Plus, my moods are crazy, I cry often, and I have become very aggressive. I am going to be asking my doctor about this all very soon.Read More Read Less

Aubra has been very effective for me. I trust it completely when it comes to preventing pregnancy. As long as you take it correctly it's extremely reliable. I also have shorter and lighter periods now. Somehow though, the cons outweigh the pros. Once I began taking this pill my acne took over. I have acne prone oily skin and I've never been able to say that I have clear skin birth control or not, but I noticed that once I started taking this pill my acne has gotten a lot worse! I have also noticed spotting in between periods that will just pop up randomly. I will be visiting a dermatologist for my acne problem and possibly go back to my physician to try a different birth control option. Read More Read Less

I have been taking Aubra Birth control for 3 months and I can't express how much I am dissatisfied with how it affects my menstrual cycle. It would have two FULL (7 day) HEAVY periods a month. And it's not weeks apart, it's TWO days apart. It's definitely not ideal to have a period for two weeks. Not finished with my pack for this month but I will discontinue use. I don't recommend this BC.

I've read other user reviews, and I must say I agree completely with the irritability and mood changes. Prior to taking Aubra, I was originally on Loestrin, which I found controlled my mood far more effectively. However, I find myself downright mean on Aubra, and I feel sorry for those that cross my path on a bad day. I also dislike that it has seven placebo pill days as opposed to Loestrin, which contained only four.

I have been on this birth control for a month and I absolutely hate it! It has ruined my life, no, I am not being dramatic. The only thing that it was good for was helping me not become pregnant. When I first started it I noticed I started losing weight, I had no appetite, and my breasts were huge. I gradually started to regain my appetite, however, it was not the same as it had been prior to use. Later, I started bleeding during sex. Not to mention, this pill has made me emotionally unstable. I find myself crying at the smallest things. This pill has made me very irritable and quite frankly, I became a bitch. My libido has also decreased slightly. I still am taking this pill, only because I am a college student that cannot afford prescribed birth control. I received six months worth for free from Planned Parenthood.Read More Read Less

I just started 2 weeks ago, but already I have felt nauseous, anxiety, even a little numbness on y left arm. I saw someone post that even blurred vision, which happened to me in the shower 2 days ago! I have been spotting since I started. It makes me feel awful! I think I want to switch, but since i have only used it for 2 weeks, i feel i might need to give it more of a try and see if these symptoms pass. I know every body is different i have had at least 5 symptoms women have posted here in just 2 week use.Read More Read Less

the first month or too i took aubra my breath got so big, they were really tender but it wasn't that bothersome. I've now been taking the pill for about 7 months and it's regulated my period so well and i have no problems whatsoever with it!
