I have been taking this for almost a month and a half, so I think it's been long enough to review. I have never taken any birth control pills before and got mine from Planned Parenthood. Foremost, it's effective since I'm not pregnant (let's keep it that way for now). Periods are slightly lighter, but I've always had a light period. I have acne-prone skin. My skin has slightly improved, but still ...

I only took one pill for one day (I know not long at all), but immediately felt a couple side effects and as the day went on, I was experiencing many many symptoms. It freaked me out and I'm not going to take it anymore. At first I felt nauseous and dizzy/headache. Then after a couple hours the crazy mood swings and emotional roller coaster kicked in. Audra has been working very effectively for me the past 6 months that I have been using it. My periods are shorter and very light, which is convenient. No weight gain, no acne. However, this medication has given me TERRIBLE mood swings. The entire time I was on it, my partner and I have had a tense relationship. I do believe I suffer from depression and Aubra has made it so much more difficult for me. I have been off of it for a couple of weeks now and I have never felt better.

Starting my 4th month on Aubra. Previously was on a mini pill and I hated all the bleeding all month long and never knowing when my actual period would be. I am so thankful to have regular periods again! Minimal cramping compared to my previous pill (ortho micronar). The only side effect I had was a little weight gain in the first month but then it tapered off and I lost the few pounds I gained. Also I think it made me hate people a little less! My moods seem a lot better. Very very happy with this pillRead More Read Less

I have been using Aubra for 4 months now and am really satisfied. I didn't experience mood swings, I actually lost about 10 pounds, never experienced any spotting (but I also had very light periods to start with). The only problem I do have is that my acne has gotten so bad since taking it. My skin was almost clear(I am a teenager so I'm definitely going to have some) before I starting taking it, and I could see an immediate difference in my face after taking it.

I have been taking this for almost three weeks now and I wish I could stop. Within the first week my mood swings have caused my boyfriend to look at me slightly differently. He told me he know it's the birth control. My face broke out so badly I refused to go out for a few days. And now my period, I have been on my period for 13 days. My period normally is 4-5 days. Idk where this blood is even coming from. It's putting a strain on my relationship. I've never in my 26 years had a period this long. I found myself yelling at my two year old, louder and more angrier. I'm tired of trying birth control. But this is the absolute worst. The depression that sets in immediately, the tears that come out of no where. The lack of sex that I've been having due to this damn period, it's killing me, my relationship with my baby boy and my boyfriend. Read More Read Less

So at first I was fine,,, lighter periods,,, less pain..then it started...my acne got bad, my mood swings were extreme, I started fighting with my husband just to fight. I would get so depressed I thought about killing myself,,,it was about 7 weeks in. I have stopped and I am slowly returning back to normal

Honestly, I wish it had worked better for me. It was my first birth control and it was great: less cramping, clearer skin, and no visible mood changes of even weight gain. I did eperience breathrough bleeding for the first two months of being on this, so like many the pharmascist from project ruby upped my dosages and switched me to Chateal which has been great so far!

I've been prescribed Avaine for acne, but the pharmacy gave me Aubra saying it's the same med. I've been only on it for less than a week, and I'm already losing more hair than usual (I'm 23 and it's scary). And it does nothing to my acne.

It freaked me out and I'm not going to take it anymore. At first I felt nauseous and dizzy/headache. Then after a couple hours the crazy mood swings and emotional roller coaster kicked in. I was going through all the emotions-angry, sad and crying, happy, irritable. It was coming and going in waves and becoming very exhausting. I got anxiety towards the end of the day. I could feel my blood pressure increase and my heart racing, I was also getting shaky and sweaty. Towards the end of the day I also experienced pain in my cervix area and even blurred vision on my way home. Needless to say, I felt the amount of side effects I experienced off the bat was not worth the risk to continue taking this drug for me. I might switch to a different kind in the future, but will definitely do more research on different medication before hand, and probably go to a different doctor. I've tried a couple different hormonal birth control methods in the past and they have all made me feel funky. It sucks but I feel like perhaps the hormonal method is not for me. I wish we had more options for men, and that there is no restriction on the availability of any method to any body, because some methods just don't work for some people. So we should keep all options available for all people who need to use different strategies. I feel like sometimes birth control is expected for women to take, and people might judge a woman if she is not taking it and having regular sex. I just want all the ladies out there to know that if it is not working for you, don't feel pressured. If you are educated and very careful, there are other methods. Best of luck to everyone out there with this pill.Read More Read Less

Aubra has worked great for me! I had no issues besides occasional spotting - which is not that heavy or annoying overall. I have gained 15 lbs while on it to be honest. But, I moved in with my partner since then and we have started cooking all the time, and have stopped going to the gym (2.5 years on the pill; 2 years of this changed lifestyle). I can assume that some of the weight comes from water retention, but I have definitely started eating more greasy and delicious stuff since I started the pill. And regular sex (the perk of living with your partner) can only burn a fraction of the calories I feel I deserve after it. Additionally, my partner has gained 20 lbs and he is not on the pill, so... I really did not have any mood swings (at least, not worse ones then without the pill). I was afraid the first couple of months I started taking it because of all the stories of people taking the pill - mood swings, acne, weight gain. I can only say - we all react to things differently, hormones are person specific and you are the only one that knows what works for you. Read More Read Less

i HATE this birth control i've been taking it for 2 months and i will not be taking it for a 3rd month! i recently switched bills because my last pill was decreasing my sexy drive but i'd literally rather go back to that then continue with this. This birth control made me breakout like CRAZY i never had acne issues besides in middle school but this is bad. i tried to give it another month but it got worse on my second pack! on top of that it makes me crazy! i hate this birth control and wouldn't recommend this to a single soul. This pill gave me splitting headaches every morning and night for the first month. It has made my anxiety horrible. I've been spotting for three weeks straight and it gave me a lump in my breast. Horrible pill.

I have been taking Aubra for about two and a half months now, and the only complaint I have is that my period has been a bit heavier than it was before taking Aubra. I have also had more spotting than usual, but I'm sure it's just because my body is getting used to the drug. Overall, it has definitely worked for me.

I have been taking this pill for almost a year and my body still hasn't adapted. My breast are tender for at least 2 weeks out of the month and my period that I have always been able to time to the minute has been moving all every single month. My moods are crazy. I am upset easily and cry easily which is unusual for me. My poor husband. I have had so many pregnancy scares because my period comes whenever it wants now. I started my period this last month with 7 days of pills left. I am going to use the rest then find another. This one has made me miserable and depressed. I have had a crazy appetite and having a hard time losing weight, which is unusual for me. I HATE THIS PILL!!!! Read More Read Less

This pill I will continue to take an am not profoundly affected, but it has definitely changed things in my everyday life. I wake up countless mornings with nausea. At first I got more acne (I normally have 100% clear skin with rare acne breakouts) but this pill has overall increased regular acne for me slightly (not dramatically). It has also made me extremely emotional. I cry over everything, I feel so hormonal. My period is starting to perfectly regulate after being on this pill for about 5 months now. I am going to continue taking it because it does the job and I have learned to avoid the side effects by now stressing myself out, which I think this pill doesn't not go well with. Ive been on this pill for 3 months and so far it's not too bad. I do experience a migraine after two weeks of starting new pack but that's only for two days. I've had some pain in my legs and arms too but it doesn't last long. Period comes same time every mo. Have noticed more acne than usual. Plan to give it a try for another 3 months

Buyer beware. I hate this pill. I have been on it for 6 weeks and I have gained 17 pounds. No change in diet and I exercise 3x a week over an hour. My period came early during the first pack (understandable) and I had it for 2.5 weeks. I completely lost my libido. My mood has not changed and I have not had any mood swings.

So I have been taking birth control for about 6 months now, my first moth was kind if hard or me. I had way more acne, headaches, mood swings, back pain, spotting, a heavy flow, blurred vision, and even nausea. I figured it was only because my body was getting used to a different kind of birth control. After 2 months my period went from 6 or 7 days to 3 days. Thank god! My cramps are still strong but only on the first day. So overall I love Aubra for working it's magic on me. I know many people have complications with it but only because everyone's body is different. And I didn't gain any weight from it! And my acne is rare about 1 or 2 zits max! Read More Read Less

My boyfriend and I have been talking about me getting on birth control for our whole 2 year relationship and this is the first one I tried. The first two weeks were ok. Didn't see any changes in ance, moods, or cramps. However this third week...... i will be getting off this birth control come the end of this month. The cramps and bloating are so bad! I have been bloated since I took them, but i didn't really get bothered by it. but now I am bleeding enough to use a pad. So i don't know if it can be considered spotting or a period. The cramps are worse than when I was off it and my mood is terrible! My boyfriend told me he misses the old me abd he sees a difference! it hasnt changed my ance at all, but I would be very careful with the mood swings and head aches and cramps!Read More Read Less

While this pill fulfills it's purpose to prevent me from becoming pregnant, and is easy yo remember, I absolutely hate it. The first month was okay, I broke out a tiny bit but I felt like that was to be expected. However, in my second month, I started bleeding during the second week of the pack and continued to bleed right up until the end of the month. The period stopped and I decided to have sex with my boyfriend for the first time since the bleeding started, everything went well, no mess then, but I left for work and less than three hours later I started bleeding again. This pill has also made me semi-dizzy, very emotional, and my anxiety is through the roof. I'm going to attempt to finish this third month but I plan on switching as soon as humanly possible. Terrible drug.Read More Read Less

Aubra was a bad first experience with birth-control for me. Maybe its just me but my body didn't react well to the drug. I automatically felt nauseous right after the first day of taking and also developed migraines. I never got my blood pressure checked but i have perfect vision and a week after taking and I started getting blurred vision and feeling very sick. I felt more tired than ever, even working out didn't feel the same. By the end of my second week on the pill (Taken on time and never missed one) I had developed red dark spots on my face and severe acne. Never had I had in my life that much skin problems in just a few weeks. I tried to continue my face routine but even cleansing and exfoliating burned. I decided it was enough and called my doctor to let her know of the pill reaction. After being off it for 2 weeks my skin is back to being clear and even looks better. I have found that I might have developed Melasma and am now trying a new pill to see if this one goes better. I really do hope so. I decided to share my experience in case there is anyone who might experience the same and takes longer to take action. I'm glad i got off the pill quick enough to not leave any damaging and lasting facial scaring on my face as many other stories. Also i would advise to check your blood pressure when starting off on a new pill. LESSON LEARNED. Read More Read Less
