I have been on many antidepressants over the past 8 years in addition to other treatments such as therapy, lifestyle changes and was even on the verge of getting ECT for my MDD/BPD. All of the treatments I tried had limited success as far a depression goes. I started using Brintellix about a month ago and it has been, by far, the best treatment I've ever used for depression. Side effects were min...

Started 4 days ago on 10mg Brintellix to help with insomnia. Had jittery feeling for 30mins during the day. Yesterday so tired, tried to stay awake until 10pm but this morning after a rough sleep the jittery feeling started before my alarm went off. It set off my anxiety & had to take 1 Ativan so couldn't go to work. Saw Dr today & told her I will stick to my usual method of taking Restavit or Phenergan to sleep instead of continuing with this medication. She initially suggested trying it longer but I don't even suffer from depression & my anxiety is mild and rare.Read More Read Less

Still early days, approx 2 weeks in. Switch over from Prozac which was making me too numb and detached. Not really feeling the mental effect, but has a terrible gastro effect, stomach completely empties 30-60m after taking in the morning!

Stay away. I had side effects of gastro, painful eyes and after 2 weeks I felt suicidal for the first time in my life. I took it for 4 weeks thinking that I would start feeling better. Very poor support from my psychiatrist. My eye sight has deteriorated over this period.

Major depression before use. Now "don't worry be haapy" feeling. A little costly but it works. Buy from Canadian pharmacies and save 65%-70%...Only about$3.00 per pill when you get 84 day supply.

I have tried SSRIs in the past and they do nothing for me!I have tried SNRIs in the past and they have worked, but I now become physically ill when I take them! So I have now ended up on this evil stuff mainly because my GP was impressed by other paitients responses. So why do I call this stuff evil? its because for a week now all I want to do is die! (I wont do it!)but I havent felt this depressed for years until this stuff!

Took it for 3 months. While it was great for my depression I vomited everyday for 3 months. Unfortunately I had to stop taking it. A shame because it really did work

I'm a 32 year old female, been on numerous antidepressants over the years. After being on Brintellix for 2 weeks I felt compelled to commit suicide (I haven't felt suicidal in over a decade). Brintellix brought out the worst in me and really put me on a rollercoaster. Please be careful with this drug and monitor yourself closely, FDA issued warnings of the suicidal tendencies related to this drug as well, it very nearly ruined my life. I don't recommend it at all.

First few weeks it made me extremely nauseous and couldn't sleep during the night so I went back to the doctor and told her about how it made me feel. Then she said that I should take it at night and so I did and I now sleep right through the night its been almost 2years now and its been working wonders for me. If I do skip rhen I feel totally disoriented and my adhd is all over the place.

This pill is poison. I have never been on a drug that has made you more depressed. I had a spell one day when I cut down to 10 mg and it made me have a straight panic attack. I've been waking up in the middle of the night just wide awake. And then waking back up in the morning just shakey. I feel like I'm malnourished.its causing me to loose a tremendously amount of weight. I still have my crying spells but I feel better with getting off this medicine. I would suggest to try a drug that has been in the market for a really long time. Not a drug that's new and super expensive. Plus it's poison. Read More Read Less

this is my 7th anti-depressant! I was hoping it would as I'm sure ALL MDD suffers do, but of course,no. Crazy itching was the result. Each successive "new" drug's ineffectiveness/side-effects give me less and less hope for relief.

I have been on Trintellix for close to a month. First was nausea for a week, then itching with 20 mg so I went back down to 15 mg to see if it goes away. But the worst are the nightly and horrible images I get of someone standing next to my bed, once a corpse in my bed and then other things that appear and make me scream. Wondering how long that will occur. Can't see my psychiatrist until mid March when he returns to the clinic. Ugh. And I don't know that it is helping that much. I felt better the first week but the feelings of depression have returned with the crying and not being able to get out of bed for the days I am off work. Wish there was something better but I've tried Prozac, Wellbutrin, Effexor (evil drug), Celexa, etc. Don't know what to doRead More Read Less

I was on Venlor for months but became too expensive. Doctor switched me to Brintillex and I suffered from vertigo from not taking venlor for weeks. Didnt think it would get better. Been on Brintillex for almost a month now and slowly but surely getting better (the vertigo). No side effects with regard to my mood and anxiety (although I was very anxious and irritated in the beginning). Although still expensive, it's much cheaper than venlor and I'm relieved I found something that didnt cause major havoc to my mood. Hopefully one day I can get off these meds completely.Read More Read Less

The first two weeks were quite though, with very low energy, lower than I was and massive headache. I am now very satisfied, I do not feel I am under a drug, feel sad when it makes sense, makes less emotional and my anxiety, the butterflies are just on my memory. I am very glad my doctor have prescribed Brintellix!

Don't believe the hype Brintellix is awful. I was on it for 6 months, it didn't help with the MDD, and if anything it made it worse. Plus, I couldn't exercise because of the horrifying abdominal cramps it gave me :/ If it works for you then that's great, and I wish you all the best. But for me it was a disaster.

Was previously on Lexapro (6 months) and Valdoxan (4 months) to treat major depressive disorder and also severe anxiety. Both drugs managed to take me off depression symptoms somewhat but anxiety and bad sleep quality remains unfixed. Both also caused strange vivid dreams after some time. I felt that total recovery wasn't achievable (or way too slow) so doc switched me to Brintellix. 3 months into treatment now, mood is generally very stable, anxiety is gone and natural sleep came back! I started to feel normal and able to regain joy and zest in life once more. It's the recovery I almost lost hope in achieving ! However this drug will cause pretty bad nausea for about 1 month but it will go away. It's the best good drug IMO, so just persist and push through the initial adjustment and it will do its magic later.Read More Read Less
