I had my first Injectafer infusion today, and it wasn't bad at all. I had some weird tingling when the Injectafer was going in and my hand ached a little, but it was over in 20 minutes. It was definitely worth it to feel better. FYI, it can raise your blood pressure but it lowered mine a little. Had a small dizzy moment then it was gone. A BP check showed a small drop in my BP. Don't be scared to ...

Beware!!! My 1st infusion of Injectofer my doctor gave me a benadyrl and Pepcid so I was fine after the infusion. I did notice some fatigue a few days later but I brushed it off. A week later I received my 2nd dose. 2 days after my 2nd dose I had the most sever fatigue as if I was drugged and felt a bit confused. This carried on the next day accompanied with joint pain radiating throughout my body. I researched side effects and called my doctor. I asked the doctor to check my Phosphorus levels. As expected my Phosphorus dropped to 1.3. The doctor prescribed one dose of Phosphorus and want to retest me again in a week. It has been 3 weeks since the 1st infusion and I'm extremely tired and my entire body hurts. I want to ball up and cry. I'm waiting to get tested again and I feel that prescription wasn't enough. I'm still in PAIN!! I'm trying to get alot of foods high in Phosphorus until I take my blood test again. I can't drive, sit still, or sleep because of the pain. And no NSAIDs or herbs are helping. I hope we can reach as many people as possible before you take this drug. Please have your doctor monitor your Phosphorus levels. Read More Read Less

I had severe anemia from years of heavy periods and the hematologist prescribed Injectafer infusions. I read reviews online and many were negative, so I was a little nervous, but my experience was very smooth and side effect-free. I will go back in six weeks to be sure the infusions have been effective in restoring my hemoglobin/RBC levels.

I felt worse and worse after my Injectafer treatments, but was told it could take 3 weeks before you felt better didn't complain until then. I looked went to Mayo Clinic website and found that my symptoms (weakness, fatigue, shortness of breath) were rare side-effects of this drug causing blood phosphorous level to plummet. Blood tests confirmed mine had and now I'm supposed to take an oral supplement 4x per day, and it has terrible side-effects! Apparently there are lawsuits related to this. If you do get this treatment, don't wait to report side-effects and ask for written information about potential dangerous side-effects. Although it did raise my hemoglobin, I would never take this againRead More Read Less

I had injectafer 9 days ago and right away I noticed a rash after the nurse took the IV out. From there I developed full body hives and rashes but I was always able to breathe so they just recommended antihistamines. I am currently on three different antihistamines, with Benadryl being taken every six hours and it didn't even touch the hives. I called in again and I had a seven day prescription for prednisone. That controlled the hives but they still come back in smaller patches. I am almost out of prednisone and I am worried that when I run out I will be covered in hives again. The other side effects were swollen legs, fever, and extreme fatigue. Now reading everyone's reviews I do worry that I will have other side effects appear in the following months. This stuff is toxic, please don't have this if you are reading this before an appointment. Read More Read Less

I got my first injection 2 days ago. I was fine but a bit tired that day but the next night, last night, was horrible. It started with pain in my right upper arm. Then I got a really bad radiating headache on my left then my neck started with the bad radiating pain on the left then before i knew it my entire body excluding my feet had the horrible radiating pain. It would ease just a little then hit really hard. It also felt like there was a band across my chest doing the same effect to my heart. It wasn't joint pain. I took a advil and was able to rest a little but i probably should have went to the ER but i just did not want to move. I've been in bed exausted since Tuesday when i got it. All this happened last night which was Wednesday. I'm still hurting and I don't know what to do because my center is closed. Read More Read Less

Had this in 2017 a few weeks after I’m painting my whole house! Had energy lost weight. Did another one yesterday. No problems at all. Love it recommend to everyone with iron deficiency. My doctor told me when I feel sluggish to let them know and I can come in and get another one. Getting my second dose next week. If you’re experiencing other problems I guarantee It isn’t from this. I am a medical assistant with a physician. We always have patients looking for a reason why they are having problems when we treat them. Sorry it was probably there before and you didn’t realize it. Don’t listen to the nay sayers. Read More Read Less

My Dr. switched to this drug two treatments ago. I spoke to dr after the first one and said I usually feel better after but this time I didn't. I still felt tired, irritable achey. He didn't say anything so I assumed it was caused by something else like my period or having a cold. During the past year I have had muscle joint pain having to go to PT. One doctor thinks I may have RA due to muscle/joint pain. I had second treatment at the end of Jan and I again don't feel better. I don't feel like myself. I have lack of energy/motivation, very emotional/irritable with everyone, forgetful sometimes dizzy. Still have muscle/joint pain. I just read side effects need to have phosphorus test done as the effects are very similar to what I have been experiencing. Read More Read Less

As I was getting my infusion of injectafer my feet and legs started to swell really bad. So I told the Dr. about it and his reply was, it wasn't from that. The second dose was ten times worse, I could hardly walk my feet were in so much pain! The swelling didn't go away for a year, mean while I now am suffering from Ulcers. I know for a fact this medication has caused this issue. I called the company and they said they never heard of that happening. I'm here to tell you it did happen! Right as I was getting the infusion. I'm not saying this will happen to anybody else, but it for sure could. I had the longer infusion a few years ago and never had a side effect from it.Read More Read Less

I gave Injectafer 2 high reviews before this last time. 3 months after the Injectafer, I suddenly couldn't walk and had severe muscle weakness and cramping, especially in my legs. After insisting on a Phosphorus blood level, I was diagnosed with severe Hypophosphatemia, low phosphorus. Blood work showed my muscles were breaking down. I could hardly walk or use my arms. The muscles were like weak noodles. I'm being treated but am still having weakness. Do not take this medicine. Use a different iron infusion instead. This is the only one that causes such a high level of problems afterwards. Both of my doctors were clueless so I had to take in the study results and law suits on Injectafer to get them to finally check my phosphorus. Research!Read More Read Less

ANXIETY! I took my first dose of Injectafer about 3 weeks ago. It seems like ever since then I have become a complete and utter basket case! Quickly after my first infusion I experienced some common side effects but my anxiety has been almost uncomfortable! After about 2 weeks I started wondering what set me off my family and I all agreed that it all started about the day after I received my infusion, so I started to research the connection. No surprise to me, I found that injectafer can cause anxiety and depression. I found in my research that it is very rare, about 1% of women experience this and they are usually in their 50’s. I also found that it can last up to 6 months. I’m a 36 year old female so I don’t exactly fit the bill. Of this I am sure of. if Injectafer cause my to feel this horrible and that this feeling can last for up to 6 months of my life, anyone who takes it should absolutely be warned of this side effect. I do have a history of anxiety and depression but this is absolutely depilating and if I had been advised about this, I definitely would have taken a different route concerning my iron deficiency anemia. I do believe that the drug has done it's part in curing me of my anemia but I also know that there are other treatments that don’t cause you to feel like you’re on speed, so much so that I have an impossible time attempting to relax and getting more than 4 hours of sleep a night and I honestly don’t know what I’m going to do if this lasts for 5 1/2 more months. I honestly wish that I would have found this site before I received treatment and I hope that my experience with Injectafer can help others before deciding on this particular treatment. If anyone else has had a similar experience or can help me get a better idea about how long the duration of this side effect usually lasts PLEASE expand on my experience with your own. Thank You!Read More Read Less

Injectafer requires for you to receive two doses a week apart. I received this treatment in December and in February I received a bill from the infusion center showing that each treatment cost over $6000. It was only at that time that I was made aware that Injectafer â??supposedlyâ?? has a savings program to help with out-of-pocket costs due to the Exorbitant prices that they are charging for an iron treatment. I reached out to their program and followed procedures from their cost saving representatives for requesting a retroactive review of my case and heard nothing from their management. With insurance paying half of each dose I am now left with an an an exorbitant bill. Seek other alternatives because patents are experiencing side effects and obviously this company already knows that they are overcharging for Injectafer. Read More Read Less

Severe headache 3days after the infusion. Had to take Tylenol every 6 hours for relief. I feel some improvement after just 1 treatment, but thereâ??s some slight dizziness when standing for too long. Going for my 2nd dose tomorrow. Havenâ??t checked my phosphate levels, but intend to ask for this to be done in follow up.

This drug causes severe hypophosphatemia in the majority of patients according to a new study. I ended up in the ER with dangerously low phosphorous and weeks later continue to be very low despite high dose supplementation. I will never touch this drug again.

Had my first infusion of injectafer yesterday. It was not as scary as most sites put it out to be. I had no reaction while getting the infusion and I react to alot of medications. I am sick at the moment so as far as side effects go I can not really differentiate whether the effects are from the infusion or the flu. I did wake up feeling less foggy headed. My blood pressure was low this morning at dr 96/60 but before infusion was normal. I go back for my second dose next Tuesday hopefully it goes as well as my first. While getting the infusion there is a slight ache in the arm and wrist of injection site probably because the medication is cold but this subsides shortly. You will be cold but no worries the nurse will offer you a blanket.Read More Read Less

I received 3 infusions a week apart. After treatment I had some tiredness and muscle aches from the medication. Five days after the first infusion I noticed that I was able to sit, stand, kneel in Church without experiencing overwhelming exhaustion. Simple things improved such as getting clothes in and out of washer and dryer without getting an increased heart rate up to 135 and without shortness of breath. I did have one episode of extreme fatigue about 2 days after the first infusion but I felt better the next day.Read More Read Less
