Before I started using this I read these reviews and became horrified this was going to be the worst thing to happen to me, but I've been extremely fine with it no bad side effects at all

I've been taking birth control for 12 years and in the past 3 years been on Tri-Estarylla. CVS changed it and I assumed it would be the same has the one I had before. I was wrong. I didn't have any physical problems like most ladies and it did do its job..no pregnancies. I just started feeling off. I become more anxious, and depressed before my period. I thought this was normal. Until, my new doct...

This medication has worked for me. I could recommend females to take this contraception. My only advice is that you need to take it at the same time EVERY DAY.

When I forgot to take a pill and had to double up or was taking the pills early in the make I would feel extremely sick to my stomach. This resulted in two cases of vomiting on a 2.5 month period of time. I was also working once and felt hot, sweaty, and dizzy. My vision and hearing blurred and I had to sit down before I blacked out. Definitely not the best pill for me.

This birth control gave me anxiety which I've never had in my life! I couldn't even leave the house without getting sick. I would get a upset stomach and be stuck on the toilet also. I had to get switched after 4 months. Definitely did not like this birth control but everyone's body is different. I'm now on a low dosage birth control!

I gained 8 pounds in 2 weeks and I've had cramping every day. I can't stay on this medication. I have a three month supply so I'm going to try to stick it out.

I was prescribed brand name Orthotricyclen lo and was switched to tri estarylla without being asked or told. I was told by the pharmacist it is exactly the same. I haven't experienced any nausea or issues with my cycle but...After almost 4 months of use I have had cystic acne and it's caused some depression because of it. It took me a bit to figure out it was the med change and I wish I would have found out sooner. I would not recommend this medication.

I only just started taking this 2 weeks ago. I have been on the generic for ortho tri-cyclen 28 for two years now. I have never had a problem with the generic brand until my pharmacy refilled my script this last time with this one. After the 4th day I got extremely dizzy and very sick to my stomach. I thought it was just a bug going around until I read all the reviews on here. In the last 2 weeks this was the only thing that had changed. I called my pharmacy and then my insurance company to see what options were availiable to me. The informed me that the other generic, Tri-Sprintec is still available you just have to make sure you ask them to use that in place. Hopefully after my next cycle I will be back to normal!!Read More Read Less

I am a 32 year old white female. I have been on Ortho Tri-Cyclin Low for 11.5 years. I was recently changed to Tri Lo Estarylla as a new generic form of what I had been on by my pharmacy. In the first 12 days I was on the new pill I experienced swelling of my chest with soreness (after the 7 days of the pill pack - not normal), mood swings, panic/anxiety attacks, and uncontrollable crying. I will NEVER take this again. I ended up having to take Xanax for 2 days while my body got rid of what was in my system. 4 days later I felt normal again. I have not had to take Xanax anytime before and haven't been on anti depressants. I was considering quitting my job as I was convinced I couldn't handle it any longer. This was after only 12 days on TRI LO ESTARYLLA. Be sure to talk with your doctor prior to letting the pharmacy put you on this!Read More Read Less

I was on ortho tri cyclen lo before my pharmacist switched me to this pill because they said it was the generic version . At first I thought nothing of it and then after reading all these other reviews I noticed that I had all the same problems ! I am more irritable and I get depressed for no reason ! I've also been having nausea non stop for over 2 months of being on this pill !! It's horrible ! If you can avoid taking this pill please do it ! I've never been in so much pain !!!

Horrific. My pharmacy switched to Tri-Estarylla. I have been on Ortho Tri-Cyclen, Tri-Sprintec, Tri-Previfem and other generic for 15 years with absolutely no problems. 4 months ago my pharmacy switched. I gained 5 lbs. in 2 weeks and I am in the bathroom dry heaving the whole first day of each pack. I thought I had a stomach bug 4 months in a row until I connected the dots and realized it was tied to starting each new pill pack. I also had worse ovarian cysts than usual (pre-existing) and terrible night sweats. Now I have to go back to paying full price for name-brand ortho-tricyclen. Read More Read Less

After 15 years of taking Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo my pharmacy switched me to this because it was generic. The same day I started taking it I started having severe soreness in my left shoulder blade and my left arm. It went away after 5 or so days. It was so bad I had to keep a heating pad on it. My period lasted longer than it had before and I became so irritable that I wanted to claw someone's eyes out. Actually worse! I felt like I was crawling inside my own body. I became depressed, restless and so irritable. I have never felt like this! I WILL NEVER TAKE THIS AGAIN!!!!! Can't wait to start something new with better reviews! Nothins could be worse than this is! Read More Read Less

This drug is effective in that it prevents pregnancy. . I was nervous about switching to this birth control as i had been on ortho try lo for 14 years. . So I read up on some reviews and became even more nervous, with no choice I gave it a try, after 7 months i have had horrible anxiety and some depression which has NEVER been a problem in my life! I can't sleep at night it's so bad. . I have given it enough time and can't take it anymore. . I will be calling my doctor this week.

I was taking Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo. I think I started it when I was 27, about 3 years ago. I never had a side effect, no cramps, no skin problems, no pain. Periods were light, consistent--like clockwork, little to no PMS symptoms...it was great. My doctor approved a generic script if it became available. So RiteAid started carrying this generic. I've been on this one for 3 months now. I've gained weight. Like, a lot of weight. I am terrified to step on the scale, but as someone who exercises daily, competes in road races, and eats a VERY healthy diet, I can't explain my recent weight gain. Has anyone else experienced extreme bloating/weight gain after taking this drug? I haven't had the anxiety, acne, or depression that others have mentioned. But I'm curious if anyone else has noticed their metabolism has come to a dead stop. I haven't compared this vs. O.T.C.lo, as far as percentages of hormones in each pill. I'm feeling too bloated and fat to tackle that challenge.Read More Read Less

Like many others, CVS switched my birth control to Tri-Estarylla after I had been taking Tri-Previfem and Ortho-Tri Cyclen. They too stated that it was the same drug, just in a different package, with insurance coverage being the reason for the change. I've noticed a HUGE increase in irritability, depression, anxiety, little patience, and just an overall feeling of hopelessness to the point of having to be prescribed Xanax. I also noticed a HUGE increase in appetite right around day 14 of the pills. And it's not like I was craving veggies....all I did was eat sugar and chocolate which in turn made me feel even worse. I have been having a rough few days (as I am at pill #13) and was trying to pinpoint the reason. Birth Control pills are the only RX I take (besides the occasional need for Xanax) and I decided to look at the Web MD reviews...HALLELUJAH!!! So happy to find other women experiencing the EXACT same feelings that I am....I immediately threw these pills in the garbage and am happily anticipating the return to my normal, upbeat, energetic, HAPPY self. DO NOT TAKE THESE PILLS! Find yourself an alternative....do your research...this is not the only way to prevent pregnancy...talk to your doctor and find another way....this stuff is AWFUL.....best of luck to you all and thank you to everyone for your reviews...I am already starting to feel betterRead More Read Less

My pharmacy switched me to this pill after I had been taking ortho tri lo. I didn't think anything of it since the package had a sticker from the pharmacy saying it was the same drug just a different shape size or color. The first month I felt like puking for three months and I cried. Uncontrollable for no reason very emotional and irritable. Second month same thing. Now it's the third month and my first day back in it (after placebos) I cant take it anymore..

It's horrible! I've been spotting for about a week now, and with the blood clots comes an odor. I've never had an odor problem until I switched to this pill. Never again!

So glad I read these reviews before starting my next pack. I will never again take this drug! Overall you can say it "works" since it prevented pregnancy. Like most other reviewers Rite Aid insisted this was the same thing. About two weeks in I noticed feelings of dizziness, fatigue and extreme depression, crying for no reason and acne. The depression got so bad I had to take time off work, and everyone noticed I wasn't "myself" things otherwise were going great in my life. I was so worried I was about to start seeing a psychatrist then I came across these review, so i'm not loosing my mind at age 24! This is getting thrown in the trash. Read More Read Less
