My daughter is 8, and we have been taking this probably since October 2014. Teacher sees great results. My issue is the continous rubbing her hands and rubbing her face all the time. Almost seems like a tick...She takes 8.75 ml and i just lowered it to the 8 to see if I notice a chang

My 5yr son has been taking 2 cc for 2 weeks. We started low dosage and had to up because it was wearing off by 11. Preschool did see a huge change in behavior for the better. He can sit still and focus on an activity. He's not as impulsive (I know when its worn off because he can't keep his hands off his twin brother) We up'd to 3cc and he's not as physically active (playing on playground- very timid now) but its wearing off by 1:30. Not sure if we will up dosage or give 2 dosages.

My 7 year old son was prescribed this medication in May. Since then it has been a life saver or him and myself. He is able to concentrate better and have more focus. Not certain about the 12-18 lasting though. I tend to give it him about 8am and it seems to wean off by 3:00pm.

I have taken every type of this style of medication known to man. The only effective medication that works for me has been methylphenidate containing medicines. I went from four 40mg doses of Ritalin short acting to a 25mg dose of this and I am extremely satisfied. I am a six foot six inch tall male, almost 300 pounds, so dosing is more difficult for me. I was originally diagnosed at a young age with ADHD, but was rediagnosed two years ago with Aspergers Syndrome. The larger dose helps me stay active and pay attention throughout my daily activities. I work two jobs right now and it stays in my system until about half-way through my night job. It is difficult to dispense, however a LOT easier than taking four doses a day of medication. This medication so far has not been habit forming, as my Ritalin originally was. My 8 year old son has been on this medication for 1 year. his dose is 4mls in the morning. I give it to him at 8am and seems to wear off by 3pm. homework sometimes a struggle but that's ok at least school performance has improved.Only sideffect is lack of appetite at lunch time. Overall very happy.

I was taking short acting Ritalin for 18 years before being prescribed Quillivant XL 2 months ago. The medicine has worked beautifully for me. The effects last between 12-14 hours. I feel SO much better now that I'm not having to experience the roller coaster ride that short acting methylphenidate has been taking me on for those 18 years. Quillivant releases in a consistent and balanced manner.

I am a veteran ADD patient. I have tried Stratera, Vyvanse, Aderall & Ritalin before. Out of all this is by far the least effective and to have to take it in syrup form is very inconvenient. I would not recommend this to anyone not to mention that it's super expensive.

My son is 7 and has been on medication since 5. This is the 3rd medication we tried. He is on 9mls. I give before school at around 7 but by 130 it is wearing off and he is having trouble the last hour of school and homework is a nightmare. It's very affective when I give 2x a day. This is suppose to be a xr but its not lasting all day.

My son is 11. He was diagnosed with ADHD at age 5 and has been on medication since. We tried a lot of other "XR's" and non worked. He was previously on plain old Ritalin (30 mg 3 x a day). He had severe "ups and downs" with the Ritalin... About 45 minutes after taking it he would completely "zone in," which seemed like "zoning out" from the rest of the world. So the doc started him on 8 ml of Quillivant in addition to 10 mg of Ritalin in the morning, 20 mg in the afternoon and 10 mg after school. He had to increase the Quillivant until we found a happy medium at 12 ml in the am with the 10 of Ritalin. I usually do not have to give him the other doses of Ritalin. He is more impulsive on the Quillivant but it's manageable and he doesn't have the severe swings (from silence to bouncing off the walls), which we all are more comfortable with. He has been on it for 3 months now and we will continue. The one thing that scares me is that it is new, and I feel like he's being used as a Guinean pig. It is a little (a lot) scary not knowing if they'll find some sort of severe side-effects down the line a ways... But it is still methylphenidate. My son is 6 years old and has been on Quillivant XR for a month now. He has been extremely moody, highly emotional and somewhat depressed not to mention major loss of appetite. He has always been popular and center of attention and now has become a "social outcast". He does pay attention a lot more and can stay seated through class. But I can not take the depression and the crying all of the time. He does have occasional angry outburst that come from no where as well. I called by doctor yesterday and I will be switching to a new medication. I want my son back!!! I hope that I can find a medication that does not take his personallity away. He is such a great kid he just needs something to calm him down when he needs to be focusing. My son has been on Quillivant XR for a bit over a month and we have been happy with it. We were doing 1 ml 1x/day and now are doing 1 ml 2x/day since we didn't see any change with once a day. His teachers have noticed a big difference as has his grandparents who care for him in the afternoons. His neurologist is hesitant with prescribing meds but we insisted on something since he was having so much trouble in school.

My son is 7 and he never had hyperactivity. Now he has hyperactivity. We are working on dosing at this time but it has been frustrating. I am lowering the dose and then working my way back up.

My daughter is 9. We started with 4ml. She is very irritable in the evening. She cries about any and everything. She is also complaining of the headache but confesses that the meds help her concencrate.

my son is 6yr. first time on a drug, he has been throwing out of the ordinary fits. Like he is three, real tantrums that I have never seen before.

Treatment with quillivant cancelled because last 6 hours and during after school my son was out of control (3pm)

My daughter is 10. She can take pills, but we chose this because it was easy to start slow. No sprinkling, measuring etc. the taste is good and it is super easy. We don't have to refrigerate, and don't have to have water for her to take it. It works amazing! It works even after school for homework. We are very happy.

We was writing in this site past days ago about my 6 years son. He started at 2.5 mg then 2.0 mg because I saw him with good behavior. But personnel of the summer camp were not seen any results. Before he was in Ritalin short term effects (4 hours)two times a day and this treatment work great. But the medicine last to 3 pm. It's better that him take one dose a day than two or three dose a day. We had to upping the dose to 3 ml and personnel of the summer camp said that his behavior was great. The doctor rx was 4 ml a day but he is at 3ml one time a day.The secondary effects are problem to eat and sleep. That's is my concern.Read More Read Less

My son is 6 and we also started him at 2.5 ml and after two days we had to down his dose to 2 ml. When him start the school in August we will knows the correct dosis that he needs. We are currently pleased with this medicine.
