I was started on the lowest dose of the Minivelle patch, 0.0375mg for treatment of hot flashes and difficulty sleeping. I started to feel benefits fairly quickly, within a week, and as time has gone on I've been feeling more benefits of using the estrogen patch. My mood is better, big plus! After three months on the patch I feel my depression is lifting and I am doing more in general instead of si...

I have been using it for maybe 2 years for Osteoporosis. I have used other patches that were ot good for meeither made me sick or didnt work. Minivelle has been the best! If you want to learn about menopause watch Menopause Barbie a doctor a GYN whose name is Dr Barbara Taylor. I started with .0375 and went up to .05 it was great! It resolved so many issues for me like I stopped bleeding after stopping the Climara patch. It took my headaches away and helped with allergies. But now after 2 boxes it doesnt work at all any more. Its like wearing nothing. I dont know if the boxes are bad if my body is used to it ow or what. It was a miracle at first. Now I dont know what I will do! I could die without it. It helps the heart and everything! Read More Read Less

I have been using this patch since I entered menopause 5 years ago at age 39. I tried the generic pills and patches and they made me SO sick I couldn't even get out of bed. My insurance has never covered them. There are 90s day cycles where I've paid as much as $800 for them. I don't care how much they cost as long as I don't have the symptoms of menopause. I get debilitating headaches, hot flashes that make me pass out and muscle pain. This patch saved my life!

I have used Climara Viville and Miniville. Climara was great until they started making it over seas now it wears off in a day or 2 as a result I was changing patches frequently and got a huge fibroid. Viville made me really sick! Right now Minivelle is the only one that works for me. And BTW estradiol does not cause breast cancer progestin does. Estrogen can cause uterine cancer. For more info on that watch Menopause Barbie on youtube. I have not been on minivelle long enough to give it 5 stars but it works with my body chemistry right now. However I need to take it off to shower no matter what they say I cant keep it on! Read More Read Less

I have been on this for about 6.5 years. While it did help my symptoms of menopause, night sweats, insomnia, etc. I now have Breast Cancer and wish I had never taken it. I'm also now living through the hell of sweats again but now all day and all night.

I am 48 and I had a total hysterectomy at age 30. I have been using the Vivelle Dot for the last 18 years and due to insurance had to switch to Minivelle. IT SUCKS!!!! I have gained a ton of weight, my boobs are huge and sensitive. My whole body aches terribly from my neck to my back and even my limbs. I got a charlie horse in my right calf the other day for no apparent reason. I cannot wait to go back on the Vivelle Dot. This is the worst drug ever made. Don't use it!!!

My first month on Minivelle patch was good. No problems to report. However, during the second month the patch left itchy, red circular area. Drug rep suggested waving patch around for 30 seconds prior to putting it on skin to evaporate alcohol. I tried but my allergic reaction to it grew worse. I have to try something else. Bummer!

I am 47 years old. I was having about 30 hot flashes a day- several an hour. The night sweats were awful too. I would be drenched in sweat and then freezing cold.. Did not have more than a couple of hours of sleep at a time.. I would also wake up around 2am and not be able to go back to sleep. My PCM put me on Brisdelle for 3 months. That did absolutely nothing to help. He then wanted to try LRYICA.. I didn't even bother getting that prescription. I just made an appt. with my GYN and she prescribed the minivelle patch and progesterone. She told me it would probably take about 6 weeks to see a real difference. I put the sample on in her office.. That night I didn't wake up one time due to night sweats. The following day I had maybe 5 hot flashes. I've been on it for a week and I would say I am down to having a couple of hot flashes per day. Also, I immediately noticed my mood was so much happier.. I didn't notice that I wasn't happy but feel so much better now. I haven't had a single problem with the patch not sticking to me. I swim and take a couple of baths a day.. If your PCM has suggested an antidepressant or something stupid like lyrics for your menopausal symptoms, get up and leave and go see a GYN. I just want to cry that I didn't go see her in the first place.. I have been living in hell for 6 months.. The PCM just wanted to try antidepressants and brisdelle and lyrics without even testing my hormones. Read More Read Less

I tried switching from Vivelle Dot Patch to Minivelle. It stays on better but does not work as well as the full size patch. On the Minivelle I am now having hot flashes, low mood, tired and delicate and dry skin issues. I will be going back to the brand name Vivelle Dot Patch as soon as possible.

I am 57 and have been in menopause for 15 mos. now with severe symptoms. Not sleeping, hot flashes, some weight gain, and fatigue. I am in good physical health and not overweight. I used the minivelle patch for exactly 3 days and experienced nausea, abdominal cramps and headaches. I took the patch off on the third day and after that I started losing my hair. My hormones were so messed up for over a week until I got back to my normal "miserable" as I call it now. My hair still falling out and I am so upset. Just hoping with vitamins this will stop. I refuse to take anything after this experience. Read More Read Less

I was having joint pain in my hands and feet, severe hot flashes and extreme vaginal dryness; all due to very, very low estrogen count. I've used Minivelle for 18 months now and it's a remarkable improvement. I do take a progestin too. My insurance company (Humana) just quit covering Minivelle, but I am sticking with it. Only complaint is that the sticky sometimes gets on my clothing. But the patch itself generally stays put.

Pharmacist switched from my Vivelle dot to this last month and it was terrible!! Headaches, fatigue and it actually burned a circle on my skin where patch was located!!! BEWARE, I have gone back to Vivelle Dot and will never use minivelle again. Companies should not be able to arbitrarily switch like this!

I've been on minivelle patches for years. Several months back I noticed I was gaining weight and my skin looks terrible. Finally a month ago I had lab tests done and my estradiol level is 24.9; postmenopausal is anything below 32.2. My doctor said something changed in the manufacturing of the patches (I can't find it on the internet and he is on vacation so I can't ask). They have been giving me a rash and when I take the patch off I have a nice raised red circle left behind. As soon as I got my lab results back I came here to WARN women - if you're on minivelle and feel like your estrogen might be low, especially if you get a rash from the patch, please request lab tests to determine if you need to switch to another estradiol delivery method.Read More Read Less

Using for 3 months. Much improved mood, much less hot flashes and night sweats, memory improved/restored. Intermittent breast tenderness, the patch irritates the skin, leaves large red area under the patch, itchy an sensitive, glue leaves ring around patch when removed. Using .05mg/day patch. Weight gain / water retention is also a problem, had to go buy all new pants and dresses for work, as I increased 1.5 sizes in only 3 months. Would like to try vivelle, other reviewers say it was better for them.Read More Read Less

I have been on the Vivelle Dot for 22 years now. 7 months ago I had to switch to the Minivalle.. The dosage has been adjusted twice now. I have terrible breast tenderness, and the weight gain is horrible. I am very careful about what I eat. I have now started experiencing low groin pain that eases after three days of a new patch application but then it is time to reapply a new patch, so it starts over again. I do not like this patch and would like to see the Vivelle Dot be available once again, which is why I had to change in the first place. When something helps so many why change it? I will talk to my Dr. again to change this.Read More Read Less

Been using vivelle dot since 1 year check up past Total Hysterectomy, for about 5 months. Then pick up the next months script and noticed they had substituted minivelle, it was after hours and i needed to change patch, figured it was the same, if the pharmacy gave it to me. WRONG!! My BP ran 15 points higher, i was irritable and had night sweats!! My insurance, says it is the same and wont pay for the vivelle dot any longer......guess what, for the difference in the way it makes me feel i am glad to pay the $95.00 per month!!!!!! It is pathetic that they can make a generic and call it the same and insurance companies go along with them!!Read More Read Less

I am 52 and had a total hysterectomy on June 5, 2014. I had no problems with my periods, but had a side pain that wouldn't go away. I used this patch for 2 months and never had any hot flashes or anything else. The only problem I had was no sex drive. I immediately switched to estrogen-methyltes (a little blue pill) and I gained 6 lbs. Whether the weight gain was from the Minivelle or the blue pill, I don't know. I've now gone off of the blue pill almost 3 weeks ago and I haven't had any hot flashes yet. I figure I still have estrogen in my system. What I really want is my sex drive back. The doctor said the blue pill probably would help after taking it for 6 weeks, but I'm not happy with the weight gain. He said there wasn't anything else out there. Anyone had this issue and found something to fix it?Read More Read Less
