I have just had a round of Chicken Pox Redux (Shingles) which is the chicken pox virus revisited in adulthood. There was no visible outbreak on the surface, which is unusual in itself, of the skin but I had all the other charactoristics of "shingles." There was itching but most of all burning and stabbing pain. I was prescribed an anitviral medication and a pain reliever by my doctor which hel...

I decided to use this drug to reduce my itching due to scabies. I used a lot of steroids cream before, but they were affecting my body and thinning my skin. Caladryl help considerably with the itching and reduce my symptoms. I highly recommended it.

I recently moved to Texas, where there are biting bugs galore, like mosquitoes, chiggers, mites, flies, and God knows what else. Coming from the north, I wasn't used to the hot, humid weather and all the nasty bugs here that come with it. I actually used to think the bugs just didn't like me because I RARELY got bit by ANYTHING when I lived up north. Well, that changed here. Consequently, I wasn't used to spraying myself down with insect repellant. So, I ended up covered in bug bites on my legs so bad that they even swelled up and I had little open sores all over my legs. It was gross. The itching was the worst, though. I picked up some Caladryl, and, literally, four days later, the bites are practically gone, all the open sores are scabbed over and shriveled up. Initially, whenever any itching started up, I would slather this on, and the itching went away. It healed my skin, too. Read More Read Less

Our county has had an explosion of bedbugs, an insect I'd never seen in my life. Until my body began to react to their bites, I had no idea I had this bizarre rash from bites. When the reaction set in, however, the itching was as severe as I remember chicken pox was. The steroids my doc prescribed (topical) took the swelling down, but itching remained. This lasted for months, as they're difficult to eradicate. Online, I saw several people had great results with Caladryl, and WHAM, it worked for me, reducing the itching by 80%-90%. Couldn't believe it, and it's cheaper than the Rx cream was, with no steroid side effcts (I was slathering the Rx on against doctor's orders, but boy was I suffering from itching.) Give it a try if you end up with bedbugs. Read More Read Less

I received a yellow jacket sting to the right ankle that resulted in pain, "intense" itching, very intense!, my entire foot is swollen, red, tight feeling. I tried other products but this med gave almost spontaneous relief. Easy to use , just rub it on and within seconds I get relief from the itching That relief only lasts me 6-12 hours and I just reapply. Works on mosquito bites as well.

There was no visible outbreak on the surface, which is unusual in itself, of the skin but I had all the other charactoristics of "shingles." There was itching but most of all burning and stabbing pain. I was prescribed an anitviral medication and a pain reliever by my doctor which helped some but not enough. They also prescribed a patch, Lidoderm, for pain but I had bad side effects from it namely nervousness, anxiety, dizzyness, blurred vision, rapid heartbeat, etc. so I could not use it. I found that applying Caladry lotion to the area, which began at my shoulder blade and wrapped around to the middle in the front between my breasts, significantly relieved both the itching and pain more than anything else I tried including the prescription pain reliever. I just wanted to share this information with those of you who may be affected with this condition and may not think to try Caladryl. It's the only thing that really worked for me and gave me releif from this most painful condition!!Read More Read Less
