I have tried every prescription med for sleep that is out there...(1) they don't work & (2) they all gave me the next day "hangover fog". I can say that Z-Quil put me to sleep quicker than any Rx pill I have ever tried and it does not give me the next fog...I am however concerned about long term use & plan to consult with my MD about this (is it any more dangerous than a Rx pill?)...I have been u...
I took this before I went to bed at 10:30, and was awake until 2:00 a.m. with being wired up and having restless leg syndrome (which I've never had before). Today, I feel groggy and out of it, which should have happened last night! This was a waste of money, and I'm glad I only got the small pack.

I have no problems falling asleep, as soon as 4 a.m. rolls along I wake up like it's my job. I took 2 gels as directed and popped in a couple of ear plugs and slept like a baby. I woke up to use the bathroom about 3 and was able to go right back to sleep. No weirder dreams than usual and I woke up feeling great. It says it's not habit forming , but sleeping well is something I could easily get addicted to. Its been a very long time.

Took this pill. Within 20 minutes I felt dizzy and started getting a head ache. I did fall asleep but woke up 3 hours later wide awake with blurry vision in one eye and stomach ache with diherea. I've now been up since 4 am feeling like garbage with diherea throughout the day and a really upset stomach. Not to mention it's the hardest thing to get out of the package unless you have something sharp. Will be avoiding this product from now on.

Works good once you get it out of the packaging. If you buy the capsules make sure you have a pick axe to try and get them out. If you want to kill an hour of time and maybe fall asleep without taking this drug, try opening it without a sharp object. Maybe zzzquil can lighten up on the packaging or at least include a bottle opener in box.

Before I go to sleep I'd down the whole bottle and knock out. When it doesn't work, I'd wake up with my fist through the wall.

Have taken this for over a year. Working away from home and just dont' sleep thru the night. Works pretty most of time, with the occassional opposite affect, when it just doesn't kick in and I toss and turn thru the night. No after effects. I'm fine the next day.

Tried it twice. First time I took it, it made me dizzy & restless. I couldn't breathe & I had a weird sensation in my legs. I couldn't stop moving them. Second time I took half a dose and it did absolutely nothing..

the active ingredient is an antihistamine. this is why it will work on some and not on others, it is also why some people have nervousness or dizziness. also why you are wide awake if you don't use it. straight antihistamines (those without a decongested agent) generally make people drowsy. if a person is already on an antihistamine and takes this zzzquil, you are getting a double dose. it should not be able to get away with saying it is a sleep aid only as it is not. please be careful taking if you are on other antihistamine medication. once I started having side effects, I did research. this is how I found out it is an antihistamine and quit taking immediately.Read More Read Less

This medication is addicting, even though it discloses that it is not! I use it regularly and within an hour I am able to go to sleep and fall back asleep quicker when I do wake up, which is numerous times per night. I forgot to take it one night recently and was awake until 5:00 am!! There was no other reason for my insomnia that night.

This medication takes a while to set in. Once it does, I am out. The first time I took it,I slept for a full 12 hours! So, I now take less than the recommended dosage so that I don't oversleep as well. Other than that, it's a great product!

ZzzQuil worked great for me. I took it about a half hour before bed and got a good night's sleep. After the first bottle I got a 2-pack and just before finishing one of those I read the ingredients. It contains high fructose corn syrup. I avidly avoid high fructose corn syrup in any and all food and drink. So sad to discover it's in ZzzQuil... but it's now out!!

I take this medicine every night during the week! It helps me tremendously! I used to take Lunesta but I was so addicted to it and would have the worse withdrawals without it and the metallic taste in my mouth was unbearable. Then I took Ambien which worked well but I started getting dizzy spells up to 10 times a day! This is the only product I can take and not have horrible side effects and I'm not addicted to it at all! Only downside I can think of is I have horrible nightmares when u don't take it!Read More Read Less

This worked pretty well, though it did take a little while (30 min. to an hr.) to kick in. I slept through the night, waking only once to use the bathroom but falling right back to sleep. My only issue is that I still felt somewhat groggy the next morning--I'd say the effects lasted up to 11 hrs. after taking it.But I didn't feel ill or dizzy, just a little sleepy. I'd suggest you take it about an hour before you plan to go to bed and make sure you have time for a full night's sleep.
