Alyacen has been great. I was switched after Necon was no longer available and have had the same great results. I've never experienced any of the side affects associated with some birth controls and I have been on it for 6 years.

TERRIBLE! Would comment on its effectiveness but I had to stop after ONE WEEK. I was having allergic reactions to the patch so my Dr switched me to Alyacen. I was on Yasmin for years, and the doctor suggested I try Alyacen-saying the risk of clots were less and it has better hormones. I have been on it for about 5 months now and want to switch back to Yasmin. After starting Alyacen, I have severe acne on my back and even on the front. My skin is alot drier than normal. I feel extremely moody and tend to snap when I get upset or angry. I have PCOS, and have noticed I have more pain in my ovaries (cysts), and periods are more painful. Same as other reviewers, pharmacy just switched from Necon, which I had been using for years, to this. I feel bloated, have had ridiculously abnornmal and heavy periods and cramping, and they are completely unpredictable. After reading these other reviews, I am not alone. I will be calling pharmacy to go back to normal pill.

I was on ortho 1/50 for 20 years and never had a problem. I had a child and now went to Alyacen, and I can cry at the drop of a pin, I have terrible acne and just so emotional. This is just not for me. Called the dr and asked to be switched

I am 44, I have 4 children. I was taking Necon for 9 years with no problems. My Pharmacy gave me this one for my last script stating it was the generic form of Necon and they were only being supplied this particular drug NOW. I have had bleeding almost constantly while on this pill after three months. I have cramping, pain, and all of the symptoms that I have been using Necon to control. I am completely switching to another BRAND. If your Pharmacy switches you to this DO not try it, you will never get straightened out. I can't believe Necon is allowing this as a replacement. Pharmacy just switched to this drug after 20 plus years of being on another - I hate it - I have break through bleeding and am bloated (feels like I have gained 10 pounds) - I am irritable and feel very moody. Breasts are very tender - I am very upset and trying to get my doctor and pharmacy to change back to my old prescription!
