I have been on this for about a year and now am experienceing intense lower back pain (radiating from tailbone), sore legs, fatigue, nausea and no appetite. This does not go away. Thought it was a flu bug. Anybody else?

This medication has caused high uric acid in my urine, it has also caused red pin dots on my skin, and has increased my blood sugar level. I have also suffered with ocular problems since taking this medication!

Taking 50/12.5 mg hyzaar with 25 mg atenolol and it has lower my blood pressure. My head feels a little weird at times and I urinate often...but did so before I took medications. Overall just okay....I am looking forward to being drug free. I exercise, lost weight, eat well and working to reduce stress and get more sleep. I wish you all the best of luck!

SOOOOO DIZZY!!! I feel like I could fall over at any minute constantly am grabbing onto things to stay stable....It feels like sea legs! COnsidering switching.. Was just on micardis for 3 weeks but cardio effects were much more rought I think I was on too high a dose! Peeing doesnt bother me although I could see that part bugging other people! Does this go away??? I only read one other person say they were dizzy and weak? I am an otherwise young healthy active women .... BP is 125/84 these day was 160/110 consistently and 100/64 with the micardis (you would think I would have been dizzy with that one) At least my pressure is done and I am not damaging my body anymore...Read More Read Less

It has helped me maintain a good pressure. The diuretic however; does cause me to go to the bathroom almost every hour.

I've been using this drug (100/25) for a couple of years now. Have experienced some ED, but not sure if that is the drug or my age/weight. I now have Caremark as my drug insurer, and as noted by another reviewer, they are dropping it from their preferred list. My Dr is moving me to lisinopril. We'll see how that goes.

After several years of taking this medication to control my blood pressure, I have a severe reaction to it as it contains a miniscule amount of sulpha drug of which I am allergic.

I have used this drug for the most part for 11 years and has worked great. Have never had any of these side effects I've seen listed here! Now here I am, for the 3rd time in 11 years, having to change meds again because Caremark/CVS has decided to take it off the preferred list once again. It's usually off for about 6 months or so and ends up back on the list! It's too expensive off the list, and I have a hard time finding another drug reasonably priced, that will work for me to take it's place!!! BUMMER!!!Read More Read Less

caused anxiety, panic attacks, insomnia, frequent urination, dizziness, daytime drowziness, blurred vision, impotence, confused thinking, dry mouth, neck pain, leg pain, and jitters. It took about three weeks to feel normal again. Insomnia took several months to subside. I couldn't get my sleep rythm back. This was a nasty drug for me. It also dropped by blood pressure too low. I stayed on it for 45 days (trying to weather the storm and hoping the onset symptoms would pass. They didn't.). I also started to suffer depression, which is also a side effect of this drug. I am a 40 yr old women with about an extra 20 to loose. I have been on it for about 2 years. If you skip a day, you'll know it! Tightness in chest and heart palps, etc. I wish I was told a the side effect by docs. I now have high levels of calcium in my blood and many, many kidney stones!!! I wish I would have lost the 20lbs first to see if that would have brought down the HP. My doc and I tried to wean me off, but it was too rough. Now I think I will have to take it for the rest of my life. And is very expensive!!!Read More Read Less

It has been about 6-9 months and I have blurred vision frequently and lately the tips of both my big toes are tingling. I would hate for this medicine to cause me to have diabetes. The Doctor didn't mention this possibility prior to prescribing this medication - I am making an appointment and I'll request some other medication.

I was given this blood pressure drug because it also helps to take water out of your system. It's been 5 months and I am so dry that the itching wakes me during the night. My dentist prescribed a dry mouth mouthwash because I didn't have much saliva. When I meet my new doctor tomorrow I hope to be taken off of it.

I have taken Hyzaar for 3 years, and it has lowered my blood pressure. I have been experiencing feet pain, on the top of my feet and in my big toes. My doctors refuses to believe that this drug is causing my feet problems. I have been to several different podiatrists and orthopedic doctors, and I still do not know why my feet hurt.
