I like this medication! I'm 27 years old. I was scared to try it because I read all of the bad reviews. I had been on Ortho Tri-Cyclen-Lo for about 4-5 yrs prior to trying Orsythia, and had no problems, but wanted to switch because of the cost. No acne, no mood swings, no period changes. I think we mostly see bad reviews because those are usually the only people who even bother to go online and ...

PLEASE READ: I started taking orsythia in July of last year after my drug store stopped carrying my previous pill Aviane. for the first month everthing seemed fine. In August i started getting involuntary muscle tremors in my left arm and my abdomin, blood pressure spikes that were 255/186 (I'm 24, weigh 105 lbs and am 5'1), dizzy spells, nausea, night sweats. I was hospitalized for 7 days and was...

I'm 27 have been been on birth control since I was 16 for irregular, painful periods. I've been on LOTS of different brands over the years...yaz, ortho tri-cyclin lo, alesse, aviane, just to name a few. I ended up on Orsythia bc my pharmacy stopped carrying aviane and was kind of scared to take it after reading all the horrible reviews. But I must say this is the best brand of birth control I've ever been on. No crazy mood swings, no crying, periods are almost non-existent and the best part is that I have ZERO acne. None at all. That being said, everyone is different and I think the most important thing is finding the brand of birth control that works best for you. Just wanted to share that this has worked wonderfully for me :)Read More Read Less

About 4 years ago, I started taking birth control pills because I had debilitatingly painful menstrual cramps. I've been on Orsythia for about a year and a half after switching from Aviane and haven't had any problems. I didn't really experience any side effects when I started and my PMS isn't any crazier than usual. It also helps keep my acne in check when my cycle is about to start and I don't break out that much. I read horrible reviews about Orsythia and was afraid to try them at first, but it works just fine for me. I simply take a pill first thing in the morning when I get up, and I'm good to go!Read More Read Less

This being the first BC I ever used, I didn't know what to expect. I used it for 3 months and had to get off of it. The mood swings were utterly terrible, and I was extremely emotional for the entire 3 months. After switching to a new pill, I realized how awful this pill made me feel.

I have tried several different birth controls and was given this because my pharmacy was out of my original birth control. Orsythia made me extremely emotional and I also had the worst mood swings. Out of all of the different birth control pills I have taken, this brand was the worst.

This pill has made me a hormonal, fat she-beast. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. My mood swings are so severe, I'm afraid to go out in public. Sometimes I come home and go into my room and just cry uncontrollably for no reason. Also, after working my ass off to lose thirty pounds, Orsythia put it all back on. The absolute worst.

I've been on Lutera, Orsythia and Syronyx and of all of them, I dislike Orsythia the most. It gives me the most mood swings. I hardly ever get depression but it gets so severe when I am on this pill as compared to the others. Besides that though, it does its job. I do get some spotting and nausea occasionally.

I am 24 years old and, because of all the bad reviews online, I was also worried to take Orsythia. I was on the patch, but had to switch to the pill because of cost. I miss the convenience of the patch, but I have had no side effects at all from using Orsythia, and transitioning from the patch to the pill was very easy. In fact, my period ends sooner than when I was on the patch (it's 4-5 days long as opposed to 6). I would definitely recommend trying Orsythia!

The first day I took this pill I got very nauseous but afterwards for about the first week and a half I have been fine. Until now mid 2nd week... I got my period a few days early and towards the end of the month I have started to severely bleed from my vagina and I know for sure that it is not my period... along with an uncomfortable feeling in my lower abdomen. It could just be from changing from Ortho try-cyclen but I prefer it to this one.

I agree with the other woman who reviewed this. I am 21 and was scared to start it after I saw other people's reviews. I was pleasantly surprised. I have had no side effects whatsoever. I'm glad I gave it a chance!
