Don't be scared by all these reviews. Happy people don't write reviews lol. I have been taking this for 3 months with the biggest issue being breakthrough bleeding/spotting. It's tolerable and otherwise side effects have been OK. I gained maybe two pounds and I think it was all in my boobs.

At first, I loved this form of birth control, I was actually loosing weight. Small break through bleeding, no acne, no cramping, great libido, everything was fine for me. Well I ran out of the 5 samples I received from my doctor and I recently switched to the generic form of lo-loestrin due to insurance and costs. It's been about 4 months and I'm miserable, I hate myself, I get sad or mad about th...

ok so this is the 2nd review i have done a lot has change in the time i did my last review. After a 3 week long extremely heavy painful period it stopped with two blue pills left. On the 2nd white pill i started my period again which was extremely light, a light tampon would last 8 hours i had no cramping at all and it only lasted three days. Hopefully my body is done adjusting to this pill and i dont have to go threw all the side effects this month.

I found myself extremely emotional while on this pill. I had emotional crying fits like I never had before. I also had weight gain, ten pounds despite my 3 mile runs etc. I was on this pill for 5 months and I am going to try something different now.

I've been on this pill for a month and am quite satisfied. The first few days I broke out disgustingly but then it all disappeared. I feel nauseous the first hour after taking it every morning. I feel nauseous almost all day after a night of drinking too much alcohol. It isn't difficult to remember to take it everyday. I have an alarm on my phone for 8:30 am everyday because it is easy to remember to take it before my morning class. This is the first type of oral contraceptive I have tried. I was so scared to try anything just because of all the side effects. It turned out to be fine and am glad my doctor prescribed it. I was completely unaware of how expensive it is. I'm a poor college student so I get it for free. Since it's so expensive I figure it has to be pretty good right? Read More Read Less

I switched from Seasonique so I knew the medication would be difficult to get used to for the first three months. It was awful, after 6 months I was getting my period 2 or 3 times a month, I was bloated and gaining weight, tired and having no motivation, and depressed. Once I stopped taking the medication I started feeling better almost instantly

I started this pill because of low energy associated with premenopausal symptoms...took it for five months, my energy came back wonderfully. Felt better than I have in about three years but my blood pressure ( which I was already on meds for ) became uncontrolable and my hair started falling out. I have stopped the pill..I loved the shorter lighter periods and the energy but I think I'll keep my hair!!

so i have been on this pill for two weeks. i have no problem at all remembering to take the pill every day at exactly the same time. I started taking this pill right after getting off of an extremely long irregular period and about a week into the first pill pack i started my period the worse it has ever been, extremely heavy terrible cramping. before being on this pill i would have my period every 3-4months and it would be extremely light, I realize that it can take up to 3months for my body to adjust to this i sure hope it gets better or i will be speaking to my dr about a new pill. I started this Lo Loestrin FE mostly to help regulate my period. The first 3 months were difficult. I knew from work of mouth that I would HAVE to be consistant on taking the pill at the same time every day and set the alarm on my phone so I wouldn't forget. I had irregular period for 2 months, the third month I missed a pill by half a day and this triggered a period. On month 4, week 4 and no period yet after the second white pill. I had to check reviews to find out that this is normal. It is expensive, though with insurance 3 months are almost $100. I will be checking on another options. I have not broken out in acne. I have not gained weight. I am activly trying to lose weight and it has not made that difficult. I am glad I gave it the 3 month trial. (The DR gave me samples for these 3 months)Read More Read Less

I use it for birthcontrol and heavy periods. I've been on it for 4 months now, the first 3 months I had irregular periods, but this month I havnt had one at all. The first few weeks I had upset stomach and nausea and once it went away I have had no more side effects. I honestly don't even know I am on birth control, ZERO side effects. I've actually been losing weight too not gaining. I'm stll waiting on my period though to see if it is light or comes at all. I've read sometimes you don't get one on this pill. Only negative thing is is that it is EXPENSIVE. It's a category 4 drug and my co-pay is $100. Once I run out of samples I will be stopping this pill b/c I can't afford it. Bummer b/c I love it!Read More Read Less

I've been taking this pill for about 4 months. The 1st two months my period was only 2-3 days and for the last two months I've had no period at all. Only gave a 4 star rating because not having anything kept me wondering if I'm pregnant or not. I've stop taking it for now to make sure. It is very very expensive and my insurance doesn't cover it so I'm considering switching to Junel Fe 1.5/30 although I heard there wasn't a generic for it or the Loestrin Fe 24 which I loved also, but again insurance not covering.Read More Read Less

This is a wonderful pill if you hate having or dealing with a period. I went almost 6 months on it, with no period. I have had stomach cramps and headaches with it though. Kept my skin clear too.

I had never taken birth control before of any form so this was all new. I am just finishing my first month. So far so good. I have had a small amount of spotting and breast tenderness but overall things are going well.

so i started B.C cause i needed to regualt myself. i have never in 14 yrs had a regular period.so i am on my 3rd pack and the 1st month a started taking it.. i started my period the 2nd week and had the heaviest period of my life for 14 days, with horrible crapming then stopped, then started back up again 9 days later and really, its a lot lighter, but i have now been flowing for 3 weeks with maybe a day here and there where i am not bleeding. on top of all that,, i have gained 15lbs, totally and horriby tired all the time and my sex drive hasn't been affected except the fact that my hole feels raw after i do have sex and it hurts like i have been having sex for days straight when i haven't..and so my period actually stopped 2 days ago after 3 weeks and then BAM i start again today (not heavy, but not spotting either). so in the end i am going to stop this Pill.,. i am miserable and i am tired of bleeding.. i am always uncomfortable.. but the only good thing is my boobs have filled out a bit more.. but i would rather have irregular periods, i felt fine then.. just the doc told me i was almost 30 and needed to start thinkin about getting regular.. screw that.. i think notRead More Read Less

I just started taking Lo Loestrin Fe because I have ovarian cysts (PCOD). My pains from my disease increased the first 3 days but now I haven't had a single pain (which I did have daily). I was on other pills and they were too harsh on my body. So far I have only had 3 of the side effects for this pill: spotting, slight depression, and the hunger! The spotting has been going on since the 4th or 5th day and has yet to stop so I'm going to have to go to my doctor. It's more of a light period than spotting, really. The depression I'm going to relate back to my mom having breast cancer (though I would normally take news like that very well instead of having these awful crying attacks). The hunger I will blame on my awful work shifts that disallow me to eat for 6 hours straight. But those are 3 of the symptoms that I have weather they relate to other parts of my life or not. I do not use this pill for a sexual birth control since I'm 16 and am most certainly not sexually active at this time. But I have noticed that I don't get turned on as much which is wonderful since I hated that awkward feeling anyways. I think this is an absolutely wonderful pill since it has such a low dose. It isn't affecting me physically so I love that. I just don't like how I'm bleeding more and the emotional changes certainly do suck.Read More Read Less

I have tried many birth control methods, including OTC Lo, OTC, and Nuva Ring, but this pill is by far my favorite. I LOVE Lo Loestrin Fe! I have had zero nausea, my periods last only 2-3 days (if you can even call them periods since its more like spotting), and hardly any cramping during periods. I only had spotting between periods on my second month of use, and I attribute that to taking a pill several hours later than I was supposed to...so make sure you take it consistently at the same time each day! My breasts were tender the first two months, but going on month three they feel fine (and a bit larger maybe?) No acne problems. I did get a yeast infection during the first month, which I have never had before, but I'm not sure if that is due to the pill, or way too much sex haha...also, my sex drive is somewhat diminished, but that was typical for me on other BCP as well. No major weight gain, so thats a big plus! Overall, I really recommend this pill because of its low dose of estrogen and progesterone, which means less risk of potentially deadly blood clots. As a 32 year old female, I feel much safer on this pill than on other methods out there with higher hormone levels. I would love to stay on this pill, but its ridiculously expensive and not covered through my insurance, so I may have to switch to its generic, Junel Fe.Read More Read Less

I only took this for a few days and I had to stop because it made my lower legs and ankles swell up so badly that I couldn't take it! I am a thin woman, and my ankles were so swollen you couldn't even see my ankle bones! My calves were so swollen that I looked like I had gained 20 pounds overnight. The swelling caused a strong sensation of pressure and pain. It was almost like having an allergic reaction. I know everyone is different, but the extreme swelling was scary so I stopped taking it. I've only been on this for a few days but I have had severe swelling in my ankles and calves and it hurts! I am a pretty thin woman and you can't even see my ankle bones. The pressure from the swelling is painful and it looks disgusting. This happens with almost every pill I try. I am fed up and am going to try the copper IUD since it has no hormones.

I went on this birth control after my IUD started falling out. I loved my IUD and I was really sad to have to get back on "normal" birth control. My doctor recommended this because of the low hormones. I have been taking it for a month and so far so good. I did notice some spotting, but nothing horrible. The only thing that I am having trouble with is remembering to take it the same time each day.

I started taking this med. about 2 months ago and so far it has helped me with my premenopausal symptoms. I cut the pill in half at first and I had a very bad headache for five days . I called my Dr. and the nurse told me to cut into fourths, this worked wonders for me. My energy level is coming back , my memory is getting better. I don't like taking anything artificial but I really needed help. My blood pressure went up and I had to change medicine and I am not sure that I needed a new medicine but my primary doc said birth control pills make you retain fluid so he added a diuretic. I couldn't find many reviews about this medicine in my age category,so I hope this is helpful.Read More Read Less

I was on loestrin 24Fe and was satisfied with it. I felt pretty good, but after being on loloestrin fe for 1 month; I have had 2 periods in 1 month and cramps. I'm going to try to tough it out for another month and see how it goes. These were free samples from the ob/gyn office, but I don't know. I just haven't felt as good on these. I'll keep you posted.
