I crushed my ankle a year ago and 2 surgeries (hardware in and then infection and hardware out) and infection treated with 6 weeks IV Antibiotics, I have struggled to live a normal life and find pain relief. I work full time as an Engineer and taking regular Dilaudid only gave me short periods of relief. I wouldn't drive within 5 or 6 hours of taking my Dilaudid and I took it two times a day. I wo...

After being on Duragesic patches (2, 75mcg e 2 d)& using 30mg oxycodone prn breakthrough pain, for the last 5 years...I feel odd. Im very anxious. Last pm it was after 6am before I could even relax enough to sleep. This is with my regular ativan. My heart seems to be beating strangely. I hope this is just my body trying to adapt. I want this to be better as my insurance isnt wanting to pay for the patches anymore. You hope. I want to just have a few days a year where I can feel like playing with my kid. Chronic pain makes it so hard to get through, I really loved the Duragesic(fentanyl)why does all these meds have to cost so much? Im lucky my dr.s never question the need for these Rxs, but Id tried to take a break from my reg med so when I went back to it it would work better, Huge mistake. Insurance wouldn't let me go back even though they changed the opana which did work then they screwed it up because of stupid druggies. Why do we let one idiot ruin things for the rest of us? We are not taking pills to get high we are taking them to get by. Noone in their right mind would chose to be on any of these meds. Im angry because I wanted for these to make things bearable and now I feel So strange.Read More Read Less

I have been takeing exalgo er for about 1 year and have taken just about every other long lasting pain meds they make. I also take roxycodone 30 mg 4 times day. I have had a ruptured disk at L3 l4 that compressed my spinal cord by 75%. Have had a diskectomy, decompresive lamonectomy, and finally a fusion. This medication is the best ive ever taken. No high just pain relief.

Terribe medicine, does not work at all. I think all extended relief meds should be taken off market !!! And absolutely not worth the outrageous price for them.

After taking time to adjust the dose after the initial changeover from 50 mg. Methadone, I have found this medicine to work very well. I had to give it about a week at the correct dose to see it become effective. I also needed to have the doctor titrate it over 2 mos. to get it right. I take 32 mg. twice a day and it seems to keep my pain under control. If you're looking for a feeling, rather than pain control, this isn't for you. If you want pain control, take the time to find your right dosage and be patient. You have to ask yourself, what am I looking for? Hope you find relief.Read More Read Less

After 2 years of trying patches and other pain relievers - Finally a break through. For me the only downside is the constipation - but the fact my pain is managed has greatly improved my quality of life.

the pain relief is pretty good but I'm having trouble with it interacting with my Blood Press. meds. I feel fine when i take Exalgo in morning, Then 1 hr later I take BP med HCTZ and get extreme press. in forehead, then Press. on sides of head which goes to my ears and messes with my bal.(ie nausea). The BPress meds makes me feel like i'm taking 3times the amount of med. than when i take Exalgo ER without BP meds. ITS like i'm getting it i I.V. I have to be very careful in taking it because it sometime causes repressed breathing!! I am trying different BP meds but not having any luck. I'm going to hae to change to some other Pain meds. The reason i'm on this is cuz the reformated Opana ER did the same thing only worse! Dr cant figure out why this is happening, but I am not the only paitent having this problem. Why can't they leave our meds Alone?? The druggies will just find something else and the people who really need it are stuck with something that doesn't work or has bad side effects. If you don't have side effects from this med this is a good pain med but you need at least 2 a day because it drops you bad at about 14 HRS. Good Luck!Read More Read Less

I take this medicine as prescribed two time daily. It takes a couple of hours to reach it's full effectiveness so I still end up taking break though pain medication. I have some side effects like constipation, blurred vision, itching, drowsiness, and sleeplessness. Hopefully these will go away since I have only been taking this medicine for five days. If they persist I will call my doctor. I was switched to this medicine from Opana ER which became ineffective.

Worst medication I have used for my chronic pain.I've used the IV form post op and had good results. but the pill form has made my life a nightmare. My previous meds were methadone 90mg-60mg oxycodone for breakthru 1-15mg pill at a time...

been working with doctor to get me on something that works for chronic pain without feeling high. took exalgo for 3 months, to long to work and doess not last. I am still taking lorcet for pain in addition to exalgo. wish people did not use these drugs for the high, would make getting it easier for people that need it.

I have cronic pain, this a very short acting drug as I'm on 16mg, took it at 7:00 pm & have been awake in pain since 300 am, this could very well be related to my health condition, I pray to God this medication is effective for others, May god bless us ail in our journey of relief.

I am taking Exalgo ER 12mg once a day now along with Hydromorophone 4mg four times a day for break through relief. For me it has a very short sumwhat relief time, considering the pain level. I was prescribed Exalgo Er 12mg three times a day along with the Hydromorophone 4mg four times a day. Lucky for me my family doctor questioned me about that, seems Exalgo ER should only be once a day use. I was having a lot of issues with it, hard to catch my breath, sweating, no appetite, problems urinating. Still not sure if it is OK to take both of these together.Read More Read Less
