I crushed my ankle a year ago and 2 surgeries (hardware in and then infection and hardware out) and infection treated with 6 weeks IV Antibiotics, I have struggled to live a normal life and find pain relief. I work full time as an Engineer and taking regular Dilaudid only gave me short periods of relief. I wouldn't drive within 5 or 6 hours of taking my Dilaudid and I took it two times a day. I wo...

I have been on Opana ER for about 9 months, when my PM&R doc suggested Exalgo 12mg, due to the limited availability of Opana (?) now. Living with chronic low back pain with nerve involvement for 12 years. Had a spinal fusion, but am very arthritic throughout the spine, with DDD and a few other pain disorders. This medication hasn't helped much and it's interfering with my appetite and ability to swallow food. I'm going to ask my doc to prescribe something else. I hope others have more satisfactory results than I've had.Read More Read Less

After horrendous injuries and 31 surgeries from a plane crash I have been on just about all of the pain meds currently made these past 17 years. Exalgo has been terrific. You have to work with your provider to get the dosing just right. For breakthrough pain I use Nucynta. Both meds are at--what are considered strong doses. Also, because of failed travel arrangements and having run out of them I had to go without them both for just under three days--I had NO withdrawal or dependency consequences! I would certainly recommend Exalgo (and the Nucynta)--thank you, best regards!Read More Read Less

Started out with 12mg move to 20mg then 28 then 36mg. Need to go higher, do you need a crystal ball to see where this is going. Only mild relief. Backed it up with hdrocodone 10/650, think God. Causes swelling in feet and mild nausea. Does not work the 24hr. Advertised,to costly, need I go on. Treating DVT'S in lower legs.

I've been on oxycodone 10.325 plus pain patches. Am elergic to patches so I was put on exalgo xr and told to not take my oxycodone. The exalgo 16 mg. isn't working so i'm still taking oxycodone for the pain and it's the only thing that helps. I'm not pain free at all. My pain level since getting off the butrans patch is a 10 most of the time and only down to an 8 which is when I take the oxycodone. The exalgo is not working at all and I cannot stand the pain.

I have DDD since 2000, and has been progressively worse. Been on Norco 10/325 for 5+ years. Found new PM doc and he put me on Exlago ER 8 mg. and it didn't seem to be enough. And I noticed some minor swelling in my feet/ankles and figured it might be another med that I was just put on so I blew it off. Then my PM doc put me on Exlago ER 16, now the swelling is even worse to the point that I can't hardly wear flip flops. I'm worried about not taking Exlago because the pain will return, but I'm also worried about the swelling getting worse. It seems like everyday it's getting worse. Don't know what to do! Calling doc tomorrow morning!!!!!Read More Read Less

My doctor changed the morphine that I was on for about 8yrs. to Exalgo and it is working great for me and I have neck and back problems. the pain so bad at times it takes my breath away and i can't catch it,till I get use to this medication also and then I hope there is something else for me.The break thru helps but not not enough they do not last even 4 hrs.so 5 times a day with 30mg of roxi and 16mg exalo the bad apples ruin it for the needy....

Finally was referred to a PM Doc for severe spinal stenosis L4 + L5. Waiting for bilateral laminectomies of these guys. After trying a few other drugs I started on Exalgo 12mg. That worked for 1 week. Went back and was upped to 16mg, 1 week great relief. Back again and am now on 24mg for the last 3 weeks. Effectiveness is wearing off. Pain Doc is really cautious which I'm greatfull for. Going back again for uppage to 32mg. I hope to get my surgery before that effectiveness wears off. Also take minimal (to me) breakthru 7.5/325 Norco but only every 6 hours as needed. Don't understand why he won't up that one but I'm sure that he has a good reason. Good Luck to all in your quest for pain relief!Read More Read Less

I have severe Chronic Back pain with nerve involvement which causes my Left leg/thigh to hurt and burn constantly. I have been on Exalgo for a couple of months. My doctor had a medical emergency(closed practice) and I had to change doctors.(took me a couple of months but I didn't have withdrawl from this med) Dr.M was giving me 16mg daily and now Dr.G has started me on 12mg. I was also on Nicynta and Zipsor. This managed it very well now My New Doctor has started all over. This is going to be a long year. Exalgo may be helpful if I can find a dose that works for me and convince her to put me back on the same regimen I was on. Not looking for a high just pain relief so I can live my life. I have read the other reviews and pray they are are correct and this is the long lasting med that will help me.Read More Read Less

I have had two incomplete spinal cord injuries, both at same time, opiates and narcotics help me to ingnore the pain but I cannot function, exalgo does not do much for pain, takes edge off, I live in a 7 scale pain 24/7 some days higher, Going to try a spinal cord stimulator.

I wish that the effectiveness was in proportion to the cost. However, after three months of $45 copays, the outrageous price put me in the Coverage Gap with my Medicare/UHC and I'm finding that the $450.74 that I now must pay is a bitter pill to swallow. In the end, nothing is as good as oxycodone10, yet nobody wants to prescribe enough of what really works. We are all treated like crackheads now, in spite of age, pain level, or diagnosis. For me, Exalgo is an overpriced "safety net" to the paltry amount of oxycodone prescribed for breakthrough pain, which is totally backwards. Never mind the useless & dangerous Meloxicam and Neurontin they try to shove down your throat to compensate for the real deal--those go straight into the garbage. Hopefully Watson will be able to come out with a decent ER Hydromorphone as soon as Exalgo's patent expires. Then, and only then, I might give it an extra star.Read More Read Less

I have been taking Exalgo for 5 months for pain control of a nerve injury. After seeing several doctors for surgeries and treatment I started seeing a neurologist for pain control. He started me on Exalgo and within the first few days I not only had relief from pain but was able to do things I hadn't been able to do for more than 8 months. Although I have a long way to go until the healing process is as complete as it can be, at least I am healing without pain most of the time. I take my Exalgo in the evening and sleep all night long and the pain is controlled most of the day. I occasionally take Percocet for breakthrough. Most days the Exalgo lasts 20 to 22 hrs. It is wonderful to have one pill to take instead of having to keep track of multiple doses.Read More Read Less

I've been up and down with chronic nerve pain from my cervical area. I tried so many different meds and on some pretty powerful morphine products. They darn near killed me but finaly dr prescribed exalgo and things have been looking up. None of the side effects that I had gotten with so many other pain meds.
