I've had extreme fatigue for the last 15 years. It started after I was diagnosed with Mono and it never went away. I would take a nap any chance I got. After work, I would come home and fall asleep. If that was not possible, I would lay around with no energy to do the needed tasks. I negated my duties as a wife and mother and did the minimal amount. It was an extreme sacrifice to do anything ...
i just started taking this medication today, don't know how this will for me yet.

I gave it a month and barely go through it! Did have to add 20mg of Adderall to stay awake though. Provigil seems to be the only thing that worked but ins. co. won't pay for it. I think I'll ask if it is possible to take 300mg of the Nuvigil and see what happens. The past 2 months I did the Adderall- hypnogic halluc. come more than before on it. Did not have it so much with Provigil. Sleep is really fragmented with Adderall I noticed as well.... don't know what to do next........

I am more awake during the day than I was. I do faithfully use my CPAP, but was sleeping 18 hours a day. I am not completely satisfied with the length of the wakefulness I experience.

I have been diagnosised with something that is going to ultimately take my life from me. I have always been an active person, working hard and playing hard; life as it is for me now, is next to impossible for me to do either.. Some days it is a monumental accomplishment to simply take a shower. My energy levels are nearly non existent. My lung Doctor suggested that I try this drug (Nuvigil) as a means to be able to live the life that I have left doing something other than sitting on my chair and sleeping. The MG she prescribed I don't think is quite strong enough. It has however given me more energy than I have had in many months. This is the best gift that I could receive.. I just want to thank you for the manufacturing of this drug. It has and will continue to provide to and for me a means to live the end of my life with dignity and a smile.. Thank you for providing this drug to us (the public) and please know that even if no one else ever tells you this, you have made a notable difference in my life and I would like to thank you with all of my heart.. You have made a difference in my life!!! DonnieRead More Read Less

I was diagnosised with Narcolepsy with cataplexy. I was on Provigil for several years at a high dosage and was finding that it was not working as well when I first started taking it. When Nuvigil came out, I tried it. I love it. I pay less a month, only have to take it once a day instead of twice and I don't have the late afternoon crash.

This is my 2nd day also, I was able to sit through all day classes at work yesterday and today! Usually I nod off a lot. Back to a regular work day tomorrow, We'll see how it goes, so far I am very happy! there was a man in my class that kept falling asleep a lot, I asked him if he had Sleep Apnea and he said yes, I told him about this drug, maybe he'll try it. I wish someone had told me about this sooner! I'll write back in a week or so.

I have taken the medication for three days now. I have sores on my tongue, severe shortness of breath that I did not have prior to beginning taking this medication, and pains in the right upper quadrant of my abdomen. I also experience extreme dry mouth, and have been easily ill-tempered. In short, I'd rather be sleepy. I think this medication will cause some real health issues with the liver because that's the area of my pain in just three days. I have taken Provigil as well, and with that medication I did not have the shortness of breath, but still had the liver pain and dry mouth. Not worth the risk of serious health injury.Read More Read Less

I had very acute mono for over 3 months. My body just couldnt fight the virus, I also suffer from RLS, an anxiety disorder, and night terrors, so with everything going on sleep wasnt one of them. Its been 9 months and I still am not in the swing of things. Work is almost impossible( I was out for 3 months but couldnt I take it anymore) so my doctor put me on Provigil to help with the extreme fatigue. I loved it. Although I was starting to have to up the dosage. The doc put me on Nuvigil because he told me it was a better producrt but I am extremely unsatisfied. It only works for a couple of hours and there is an extreme crash. Also since I have started taking it I have had many anxiety attacks and been extremely irritable. I take anti anxiety meds,my happy pills:), but they dont have any effect anymore. To the people it works for great but I am definatly not one of them.Read More Read Less

I was recently diagnosed with narcolespy, and started taking 150mg nuvigil the first few days were fine then I was getting tired about mid-way through the day. My doctor increased the nuvigil to 250mg and it was too much! Does anyone else have the problem of stiff neck? Provigil hurt my jaw. I have been taking 150mg and it helps me stay awake but I still get tired.

I have been having episodes of dosing off and having major hallucinations. Tried NUVIGIL, and it worked the very first day. No nausea or headaches so far. I would recommend taking it with a meal/breakfest. So far so good!

My doc says that I have extreme daytime sleepiness so she prescribed Nuvigil for me. Today is the first day I took it and have been nauseous most of the day. I also had my blood pressure checked and it jumped up to 150/102. I'm calling my doc to see what I should do. I'll write again when I know more.

Nuvigil has been a lifesaver for me. I have spent my days and weeks in bed. Since I have been on it- 60 days have passed with out crawling back to bed. Energy, enjoying life again.
