Savella works great. But the first week of side effects while titrating are a bit uncomfortable. After that, it's WONDERFUL for energy, pain & brain fog, although it takes a couple of months to see a dramatic improvement. IGNORE any reviews from people who stopped taking it after the first week, because they most likely didn't take it properly & just aren't giving it a real chance to work. Savel...

I took Savella for over 5 years and it was a great help. For me not as good as Lyrica but close, and more affordable. As time went on I complained to my PA of being tired. This seemed to slowly grow worse but we had no idea why... I'm sure she attributed to the fibro but never said. After reading an article I decided to try Cymbalta (which made me feel I was going crazy) and to my amazement withi...

this was a terrible drug for me- after four days on this drug I experienced severe night blindness that took months to clear up. I do not have glaucoma or any other eye disease.. Nothing in the literature warned of this possible side effect. Everything was documented by my eye doctor.

I was part of a national blind study for Savella four years ago. Within a week I knew I had the "real" medication because my fibromyalgia symptoms got better. I am still taking the Savella because 80% of my fatigue and pain has abated. I don't have the week of "down time" I have had in the past where I couldn't even go to work. I did go off of it for a week during the "washout" phase of the study but pleaded to go back on because my symptoms returned. The only side effect I have had is increased BP but that has been easily controlled with medication. I would highly recommend Savella for those suffering with fibromyalgia. I feel like I got my life back.Read More Read Less

don't have as much nerve pain and knots and no side effects that I can see and have been taking for 8 month. Thought there was no hope when I had to go off Lyrica for horrible and dangerous side effects, Overall satisfied doesn't keep all pain away just makes it not that intense

My nerve pain is much less painful after starting Savella. Have been on the product for nearly a month but I could feel the difference within the first 5 days of starting the meds. Had been on another rx previously.

I have been on Savella for about 3 months now. It worked great when I first started taking it. It relieved my pain, fibro fog, I had energy and motivated. Now that I am on month 3, I have started feeling my pain coming back slowly and more intensly. Also, for the the past week I have been so sick. I feel like I just to need to puke 24/7 and very weak/fatigue. My doctor is closed today, I have an appt next week but I am now wondering if I should start weening myself from 50mg twice daily to once daily. Read More Read Less

I have had Fibro for many years and have tried so many different things but so far after one week I find Savella to be a god send. The pain relief far out numbers the side effects so anything that helps the pain is valuable to me. My depression was due to the pain that I was at the point that death would be a good thing that is how bad I felt. I am slowly getting over some of the side effects that I have had and hope within some time the other's will go by the wayside. I am now going to try a massage every other week to see if this may produce added comfort of which is one of the suggestions while taking this medicine. To those of you that are still struggly I hope in time that you find something that will give you some relief because this Fibro is not any fun at all and it's hard to describe to anyone the pain that a person has due to this. Good Luck and God Bless!Read More Read Less

When I first took Savella it was as if my life had been given back to me. I still had pain, but it was not as acute. It cleared "fibro fog" and I had a feeling of missing pieces of myself finding their place(you had to be there). I have taken it since 8/2010 and now, 5/2013, realize that exercise helps to relieve pain more than Savella. Tho Savella helped me over the hump to feeling better, a better diet, good rest, and exercise are helping me more now. The Savella has increased my BP from 95/60 to 130/88 - another good reason to stop taking it. I do not regret taking it and I am a little concerned that the fibro fog may come back if I stop taking it, but I am counting on a healthier lifestyle to pick up the slack on that. A good night's sleep makes the biggest difference!Read More Read Less

I must admit that it's early days yet, as I hve been taking Savella for only 4 days, but I feel better, so much better I can hardly believe it. I have spelt better, I woke up during the night and was not cramped and aching as I have been for years. I have hardly any pain or discomfort evan during the late afternoon, when the pain used to swoop down like doom. I was taking Cymbalta and it didi't work like this when it worked. I feel so good I could cry, and even if it stopped working, I would be sorely disappointed (pun?) but would be grateful for this experience of comfort after such a long ordeal of pain filled days and nights. Thank you. I found this by studying information on line. You have to be proactive and your own physician. I don't even (knock wood) need pain pills nor the herbal medications that have been easing the pain somewhat. So far I love it and highly recommend it. I will resubmit with continueing success (I sincerely hope) or any other news. Information is power and in this case, ease and surfeit of pain.Read More Read Less

Savella hasn't taken any pain away from anywhere in my body, all it did is give me hives and less sleep because of it.

I have been diagnosed with lupus and fibromyalgia in the last ten months. The pain has been unbearable. The Drs have been giving me pain meds which has helped with the lupus, but I still had terrible pain. My new Dr diagnosed me with fibromyalgia as well as lupus and has prescribed me Savella in addition to meds to treat the lupus. By taking it just two days, I have had had noticeable pain relief. I was in bed for days at a time, but taking Savella has gotten me out of bed and I am beginning to get some quality of life back. I am getting sample packets from my Dr. so now I am concerned about the copay cost with my insurance for this amazing drug. Read More Read Less

I take this and Neurontin together. When i just took the Savella it was taking care of about 70% of the pain and issues. Had some side effects at first, but they leveled off. Only downside is taking it 2 times a day. Other than that, really like it. It caused soem sleep issues so I was given the Neurontin which has helped with pain and sleep.

I went downhill fast, following titration pack for fibromyalgia pain, my minor depression skyrocketed and I have so much GUILT for putting my 6-yr old twins and poor husband through absolute HELL the past week. Every minor thing made me not just irritable, this savella made me crazy! Uncontrollable bitching one minute, uncontrollable crying the next. Wanted to run away and save my family the shitstorm i was putting them through. Sweating on parts of my body, ice cold numb on others - especially hiked up the Reynaulds syndrome issues that SUCK living in Buffalo! Gut bowels problems worsened. Nausea. Headaches worsened. Pain level same. Only thing I didn't get was severe anxiety attack that Lyrica gave me. Or get completely brain dead like Cymbalta made me. This reaction similar to Gabapentin but not Nearly as bad! I'm going back on welbutrin. Read More Read Less

After trying every other drug on the market for my fibro and having them either not work or cause "head games" as my doctor called it, he gave me sample triation pack of Savella. The first 2 days I felt great. I was giddy but my heart was racing. I had take anxiety pill to calm down. The next week seemed to feel pretty normal, pain slightly decreased but very much still present. Once I got up to the highest dose each day was like falling deeper and deeper into a nightmare. I was very anxious, very low. I couldn't stop crying and had absolutely zero patience. I went back to my doctor and he suggested that I use my judgement to play around with the dosage to see if there was a happy medium that helped control my pain without making me crazy. (We decided on this method because having him adjust dosage could take months and be very hard on me). After just 5 days of only taking the lowest dose only once per day I have been told by my family that I'm not the same person and I've been a total bitch lately. I'm all out of options but I'd rather deal with the pain than hurt everyone around me. Read More Read Less
