Savella works great. But the first week of side effects while titrating are a bit uncomfortable. After that, it's WONDERFUL for energy, pain & brain fog, although it takes a couple of months to see a dramatic improvement. IGNORE any reviews from people who stopped taking it after the first week, because they most likely didn't take it properly & just aren't giving it a real chance to work. Savel...

I took Savella for over 5 years and it was a great help. For me not as good as Lyrica but close, and more affordable. As time went on I complained to my PA of being tired. This seemed to slowly grow worse but we had no idea why... I'm sure she attributed to the fibro but never said. After reading an article I decided to try Cymbalta (which made me feel I was going crazy) and to my amazement withi...

I have been on savella for a couple of months now. I have noticed a massive overhaul in my sleep that has been wonderful. For the first time in nearly 20 years i am waking up and feeling like i slept. I dont spend all day tired and in a fog. Ive also noticed some improvement with the pain. However, i have not seen what i would consider enough improvement in pain and i am also having other side effect issues. I get extreme vomiting within minutes of taking, sometimes even with taking antinausea meds to combat it, i have hot flashes like crazy at nights and feel like my heart is racin and headaches. At this point really thinking this is not the drug for me, but i hate giving up on some progress and the amazing feeling of being awake. Just wanted to share my own experience and to let people know that this may not be the miracle cure for everyone and it has nothing to do with improper usage. Everyone will react differently and there is no cure all that works on everyone. Read More Read Less

In light of other medication I have taken for fibromyalgia, this one has been the most effective, both for the pain and my mental status (fog). I am happier and able to work a full day at a full time job. I sleep better too. I take 100mg AM and PM. I have taken this med for 2 years with no noticable side effects. My insurance doesn't pay, but I gladly pay out-of-pocket for a med that works and keeps me out of the Dr's office and on my job.

I took this for about two weeks. I gradually built up to the full prescribed amount, as recommended by the doctor. As I took it I felt worse and by the time I was taking the full prescription, my pain was so intense that the only reason I got out of bed was to use the bathroom. I didn't eat or do anything by try to sleep and/or watch TV. I couldn't even handle anything touching the skin of my legs. My doctor told me to continue taking it, but I couldn't stand what it was doing to me so I gradually began weening myself off of it. The intense symptoms that began when I started taking it lessened again to my ordinary symptoms shortly after I stopped taking it.Read More Read Less

Savella was my last resort as all other drugs used for fibromyalgia caused horrible reactions. The key for me was to take 50 mg in the am and 50mg in the pm. It greatly lessened my fibro fog, subtlely improved my mood, and put a dull edge on my pain. It enabled me to read and exercise (walk) again! It is my miracle drug. My BP has risen slightly, but it was low to begin with.

Savella started working within a few days. Helped my fatigue, soreness, feeling like I have a fever symptoms of fibro. But my blood pressure and pulse are too high. I went off the Savella to be sure, and yes, they went right back down. Rheumy suggests I take a beta blocker because the Savella is working otherwise. Going to my GP to let him decide what to do. I do not want to go off Savella.

treatment for fibromyalgia. Feel the best on this, other than sleep difficulties which are part of fibromyalgia anyway. I discontinued use because listed side effects are cause for concern. I have been on Gabapentin, still not sleeping and putting weight on and no labeto. I am ready to go back on Savella!! I was able to loose weight on Savella and felt good!!

Had been having trouble with heart rate and blood pressure before taking this and once I reached full dosage 50 mg 2 x day, my BP and heart rate were off the charts. I quit cold turkey and 5 days later, my BP and heart rate started to come down! Never should have been prescribed this med!!

I, like most FM folks have been on countless meds to help this. Savella has calmed the horrible burning I get in my arms, but has raised my blood pressure to a scary height, and I am having nightmares that rival horror movies I can't stand! I have been on full dose for 1 month and can't decide if the side effects outweigh the benefits. Also constipated, and sweaty...
