A daily dose of 80mg Uloric has given me 4 years of Gout free living. The accumulation of tophi on my elbow and knuckles have disappeared. I no longer worry about Gout!!!

I've been on this medication for a little over a year. I experienced sever nausea with this medication. However once I became a vegetarian, the nausea went away almost completely. I also take a Black Cherry pill and have not had an attack since combining it with Uloric.

I took this drug for 6 months. Shortly after starting I notice a change in my skin. It became wrinkled and tears easily. Even removing a band aid caused an injury or bruise. Bruises started early and got worse. Will bruise just leaning up against something. Also became very hoarse and could barely speak. I quit taking about a month ago, but skin is still thin and bruises continue..

Had some rash but ignored it. Have bad kidneys. drink lots of water.

Before this medication, I was having severe attacks of gout in my feet about every three weeks. Since beginning Uloric,I have had virtually no symptoms. It is so wonderful to be free of such torturous pain.

While using this drug I have a lot of flares and it is so exteremly expensive. I don't know how much longer I can afford to use it one way or the other.

It is very expensive for it not to work for me. I am on 2 types of insulin and the cost of all three throw me into the "donut hole" by the end of May. My last blood work showed my Uric Acid up to 10. Basically I am better off not taking this drug. zu5wlx

I have, HAD, been fighting gout for the last 20 years plus. I have had pain in every joint in my body from toe pain to being diagnosed with a dislocated shoulder. I HAD inflamed bursa sacks to joints knurled up and disfigured. I started uloric two years ago. the tofitis? started melting away in weeks and my finger, toes and elbows are back to normal.NO PAIN FOR TWO YEARS. Before I was in pain weekly if not daily. I am 37 and have had attacks for about 7-8 years. I have been on it for 3 months now and I have not had any attacks. It works very effectively for a friend of mine as well. I do not have major side effects I can pinpoint. My blood sugar has actually gone down (someone asked about that).

I have been on Uloric for 16 months. No flare ups in that time! I had been taking Colchine for the first year as well. My flare ups had been infrequent before Uloric but now they're gone. I try to drink 64 oz of water a day. For the first time in years I can eat limited seafood and shellfish. I regularly have a beer ( just one) with dinner most nights. It's good to enjoy a full menu. My only complaint is the price of the drug.

Had allergic reaction to allopurinol. Had gout since 2007 and developed tophii around joints and knuckles of hands. 3/2009, uric acid was 9.8 mg/dl.Started using Uloric 80 mg 1x daily.8/2009 uric acid down to 5.3. As of 12/2013 maintaining uric acid around 3.8 mg/dl and tophii has completely disappeared. Having no side effects so far and bloodwork every 6 months shows everything within normal range. Been under the care of my rheumatologist doctor since 2009 and not my family doctor.

I just start taking it so far I still have gout flare ups

Had itchy rash from interaction of Uloric and Glucosimine.

After a year on Uloric 80mg and two 0.6 colchicine a day I am basically free of gout and have discontinued the colchicine.

I have diabetes and gout.Uloric caused bumps on my finger tips filled with some hard white particals like calcium also my legs turned dark.They are itchy and dry,have dry bumps all over both legs.I stopped taking uloric 2weeks ago and my fingers and legs show improvement.

I am 59 and was diagnosed with what three doctors insisted must be gout based on symptoms and blood tests. I had been suffering one or two flare ups a month for over 3 years. After a couple of days on Uloric my joint pain increased substantially. I held in there and suffered though eight weeks of constant and severe joint pain and depression. Follow up tests showed low platelet counts, so the Uloric was discontinued. Then I discovered that the joint pain I was experiencing was totally eliminated by avoiding any soy in my diet. Many flare ups in the first month of taking Uloric

started on 40mg 32 days ago and took my blood test on day 27. I went from 8.7 to 4.8 and had no side effect other than feeling the needles leave my body. I had three major attacks of gout last year. I am very happy!

I have been struggling with Allopurinol and with repeated attacks of toe and knees. The pain has been debilitating. Colchine causes me terrible side effects. Since starting Uloric 80 mg per day I have no side effects, much better blood work and less attacks. I am being patient assume more attacks as crystals dissolve in my system but fully happy with new medication!

I just started taking this medication, and I'm trying to get some info on what to expect from it.so far it better than what I was taking.
