after many trials and errors, I believe I've found a winner. With minimal side effects this medication has significantly helped my Tri's and overall cholestrol levels. This med alone Does Not cause muscle aches. I've given up on all statin meds and feel much better. Been on Trilipix for about a year with favorable results. I hope this review is helpful.Good Luck

Having been switched from Tricor to Trilipix by my insurer, almost to the day of starting Trilipix I started having upper thigh muscular-type pain. It is aggravating when walking up stairs, but more so when descending. I switched back to Tricor less than a year after starting Trilipix and the pain has lessened but is about 75% still there. I suppose that I will have to live with this for the rest of my life. I am 61 years old, male.

Been on medicine for 5 wks, tri went from 636 to 215, overall cholesterol with in five points now. No problems swollowing, no pains. Long term, I hope this pill is my answer. My pharmacy has told me there is a generic "senosibrate 134mg", you may want to look into this, more cost effective.

I have been on this medication for a couple years now. Previously on Tricor with no problems. Well now, I have gallstones and am having liver problems. My liver enzymes are too high now, which I am trying to convince my DR. is due to the Trilipix. But he is doing all sorts of $$testing$$ etc, and now wants to do a liver biopsy. I am going off this crap before I die from liver problems!

I spent 3 and a half days in the hospital after only 5 tablets. I had uncontroled muscle spasms, itching, headache and chills. My blood pressure dropped alarmingly low & it took 5 weeks to recover.

I took Trilipix for exactly one year. The last 3 months on it I had such severe upper leg pain that I could no longer enjoy my daily walks. Also had chest pains & acid reflux. Leg pain went away 3 days after stopping med. I will not take this again.

I thought I was dying. Felt disoriented, dizzy, very tired and run down. Short tempered with my family. This was not me. I am not taking this anymore and feel it should be banned. Took the med for 1 week.

After five days had dizziness and disorientation to the degree that I had to go down the stairs on my can, one step at a time. When I tried to put on a shoe I roll completely out of the chair and onto the floor and then could not figure out where I was. I have had two TIA's (mini-strokes) and thought I was having another. Have had muscle twitching in my calves and cannot get an erection. Today was my last pill. I am allergic to all statins with extreme muscle pain and weakness

I was taking this medication for a couple of weeks and I started noticing that it is affecting my erection. I also notice that I am having itching and very dry skin. I told my doctor about it and he said that the medication has no side effects. I stopped using it anyway and my itches are gone and my erection is back to normal. Please do not take this medicine. It will ruin your life.....

My last blood test showed high triglycerides and Hdl. I was already taking 40mg of Zocor. My doctor increased the Zocor to 80mg and added Trilipix. I have sever stomach cramps and waking up during the night sweating. This happened for the 2 days I took The Trilipix. Stopped last night no stomach cramps and slept like a baby.

I have been on Trilipix for 2 weeks.. I havent noticed the achy muscles that I experienced with SimCor. However I am wondering if it is affecting my blood pressure. It has been controlled by medication for several years but has been elevated in the past couple of weeks. I am wondering if anyone else has noticed this side effect with Trilipix?

I started trilipix 3 wks ago, started with elevated blood pressure (dangeriously high)this week, saw the dr, and put on more blood pressure meds. I have tried I believe just about every drug to lower the cholestrol on the market this one was pretty new so gave it a try. Read several other reviews and the side effects late last night and called the drs office and told them I am not going to take this anymore, lets see if my bp will come down. Sometimes I just wonder if the meds are worth all the side effects. At this point I have stopped exercising and even taking a walk as it increased the bp so much. I will continue to eat my almonds or walnuts daily which I was told will help lower cholestrol and will hopefully be able to get back to excercising. I have about 10 more lbs to take off to reach my goal and think that will also help. I find myself concerned about all the side effects not only with this drug but so many others. I hope that the muscle aches, headache, nausea, elevated bp and whatever else will stop once this drug is out of my system. Good luck to everyone taking this. Read More Read Less

This med really has lowered my LDL, ...However....It is really expensive even with my insurance....$160.00 for a 30 day supply.

I was on Trilipix for a few days, taking at night. Started have bad dreams and waking up thinking I was having a heart attack or stoke, real dizzy feelings, and muscle cramps in my legs. Stopped taking the med and now things are back to normal except for the high colesterol. Think that is better than the side effecks of this drug. Going back to Dr. and try something else.
