This is an update to my previous post. I have mixed feelings about this drug. I was able to notice solid results very quickly. The side effects were acceptable at first. Then I started waking up at 2 or 3 AM and could never get a complete night of sleep. I stopped taking it for a week or so and discussed it with my doctor. She was willing to offer another drug to try or gave me the option ...

I took 2 doses of this drug (Luvox CR 100mg) and I almost died. My blood pressure dropped enough to cause black-outs and my heart rate dropped to around 40. I called 911 and had to be given fluids through IV until the drug left my system. Now, a week later, my mouth is still incredibly dry and my taste is not right. My tongue has felt scalded as well. I trusted my doctor that had been treating me ...

I've been on the meds for about 4 months and it's been working very well. When I started with the meds I was very sleepy throughout the day but that only lasted about 2 weeks. I sleep through the night but have very vivid nightmares almost nightly. I recently suffered a seizure but am not sure if that was caused by the meds, I'm working with my doctor to see what caused the seizure.

Love this medication... saw a difference within seven days. As a mom of two was able to relax more and handle things with ease. There were hardly any side effects. This was definetley better than any other depression Ocd meds tried.

I have been taking Luvox for 5 weeks now (the increased dose that is. I was on Prozac for 11 years but my therapist thought I should try this as a way to help with the lack of sexual desire. I have been feeling more anxious to the point I have breakdowns where I cry but I'm not sure why. In some ways I feel more obsessive about things than I did. I'm snapping at my husband and feel like I just want to "run away". Do these feelings pass or do I need to get off this drug?

I've been on Luvox 150mg for almost 2 months and I noticed that when I first started taking it that I became really depressed. But my doctor warned me that could happen so I got over it and now I'm better. Sometimes I think SAD is all in my head but this medicine really seems to be working for me but I think it would work better if I took cognitive behavioral therapy along with it. If someone is on Luvox and in therapy let us know how it works.

This medication has worked very well with me other than the sleepiness thought the day it has been great. I did get headaches and a upset stomach at the beginning of this medication but, that is stopped.

I ve been on this medicine for about 5 months and i va never felt better. It feels good to have my old self back again and not feel bad. I can actually talk to people to with confidence. Of course, all antidepressants work differently for everyone but i found it very helpful. :)

I posted a comment earlier that said that it had "control my racing thoughts" however, after using it for a couple of weeks, I have found this medication to have made me depressed, unmotivated and zombie-like. It was pretty misirable.

I have been taking Luvox for about a week; It has decreased by racing thoughts, almost bringing them to a halt! The only problem I am having with this medication is that I haven't been able to sleep. Any suggestions?

I have been on Luvox for about 2 months and it has been great. My doctor put me on it for anxiety and slight depression. It doesn't make me groggy or anything...I can't even tell I am taking anything. But my mood is enhanced and I am not as stressed out and I am no longer suffering from anxiety issues. I ran out over labor day weekend because my pharmacy does not keep it stocked. I was stressed and anxious all weekend. Make sure to keep up with your refills. Otherwise, this has been great!

Luvox has been great to me. I have used many different medications trying to find the right one for me. This one seemed to be the best one. No major side effects. Expensive though.

I started taking this medication three weeks ago, so perhaps I have not given it enough time to work. It has helped to slow my racing thoughts a little, but I am still really depressed. My anxiety level has increased tremendously, my memory has deteriorated, and I am very tired. I do not have energy to make it through a "normal" day. The medication is easy to take, but the results are not good.

After being on prozac successfully for 15 years, it stopped working. Began taking luvoxcr 200mg six weeks ago. I'm almost back to normal. Minimal side effects of anxiety and daytime drowsiness. Stopped obsessive thoughts, anxiety and insomnia. I highly recommend trying this SSRI.

I HAVE BEEN ON LUVOX CR NOW FOR ABOUT 3 WEEKS AND COMPARED TO ZOLOFT IT HAS BEEN GREAT. I REACHED MAX DOSE FOR ZOLOFT AND IT REALY DIDNT HELP WITH MY ANXIETY. NOT TO MENTION THE SIDE EFFECTS ON ZOLOFT WERE MUCH WORSE. LUVOX FOR ME HAS BEEN ALL AROUND A GREAT IMPROVEMENT. I AM CURRENTLY ONLY TAKING 100 MG AND ABOUT TO GO UP TO 150. AT THE WAY I AM CURRENTLY FEELING ON 100, I THINK 150 SHOULD JUST ABOUT HAVE ME BACK TO MY OLD SELF. OVER THE PAST 3 WEEKS I HAVE BEEN ENJOYING AND LOOKING FORWARD TO DOING THINGS AGAIN. LOOKING FORWARD TO THE ROAD AHEAD...Read More Read Less

I trusted my doctor that had been treating me for over 5 years. Now that I have had this horrible experience and I've done my own research, I see that due to the fact that I have multiple sclerosis and take Tizanidine, I should NOT have taken this drug. Be careful. The ER staff wasn't happy that I was given this drug as a "sample" and the package didn't have all the patient inserts. If I were not staying with caretakers, I might have died.
