At first when I took the drug, I hated the side effects! I realized that I needed to take this med. I have a tachycardia and I have anxiety attacks. Every since my daughter was born, (8 months ago) Ive had a lil high blood pressure problem. I'm 20. I asked Dr to put me on lowest dose. So far so good. No anxiety attacks HALLELUJAH! Bystolic scared me at first because of the newness. I search it on the web and hardly NO information on it. My dr. is Indian and new to the game. I started out with a low HCTZ however it slowly stopped working for me. He introducted me to Bystolic and said it was new. It was so new my pharmacy had to order it. I can say that BYSTOLIC is one of the best beta blockers currently available. I have tried several beta blockers (including TOPROL XL). BYSTOLIC is excellent for heart rate control and is also much gentler on the gastro system in comparison to other beta blockers. BYSTOLIC does not have the negative effects on mental functioning such as forgetfullness, mood changes and weird/vivid dreams. It also ... Show Full Comment

After 6 wks. have new side effects, tightness in throat, ringing in ears, overall bad feeling. Can't decide if the feeling of shortness of breath is from the throat tightness or lungs. Feel like an extra breath is needed. Right forearm feels weak at times. Feel like I'm in a zone at times and can't escape the overall blah feeling.
