Sometimes AZASITE 1%ophth solution 2.ML makes my eyes have mater in them in the morning. I don't use it every night because of that . I think it drys my eyes up also.

Rx plan substituted this med after my erythromycin ointment unavailable (for blepharitis/dry eye). From day one, my eyes burned & itched like crazy, unlike the other one with lubricants added. Will be seeing eye doctoe Tuesday & will report this--it's also pretty expensive, even with the coverage & has to be refrigerated as well!

Trying to shake it upside down to mix solution and even harder to squeezing to get the drops on such small bottle is difficult, not sure if you’re putting the right amount in each eye. This product is over price I paid half of the cost with insurance no generic version but is a hefty price when doctor recommended two refills.

This should never be ordered for a single or elderly patient. The $50 copay is criminal for this tiny bottle. The thick contents will not come out right. You get a huge blob that misses the eye because you are squeezing with all your might. It is frustrating and what little medication reaches the eye hurts for 15 - 20 minutes. I can't speak to the effectiveness really because of the defective delivery system.

It works, but way too expensive for the amount you get. If they charge so much, at least they could give you a few more mls. I used it for chronic blepharitis and it works well but doesn't last long. I'm looking for an alternative.

Corneal erosion leading to infection and ulcer. This is a horrid little drop. Because of it's thickness, it stays on the eye for quite some time. I don't understand where the others say it is soothing. To me it feels like lemon juice has just been poured into a gaping wound. After the 10 minutes of stinging, then comes the 30 minutes of throbbing. After an hour of ice packs, I begin to feel better. I wouldn't recommend this to my worst enemy. My dr tells me this will help to eliminate scarring and further infection from using steroid drops. I'm not seeing results. I had bacterial conjunctivitis that other treatments did no cure. My optometrist switched me to Azasite with an interesting treatment approach: 1. Drops in each eye every evening. 2. Every morning thoroughly clean my eyelids, apply a hot compress for one minute, then wash my hands, put one drop of Azasite on my finger, and apply it to the eyelid margin (where the eyelashes are attached). I used a different finger for each eye. He told me that when an eye infection does not go away, over 50% of the time it is because the bacteria are living and reproducing on the eyelid margins, so while the drops in the eyes are necessary, that alone may not be adequate. MY PHARMACY HAS THIS LISTED A TIER 3 MEDICATION. SEEMS TO BE ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF INSURER CIRCUMVENTING LOGIC TO GET MORE MONEY OUT OF THE INSURED.

This medication is hard to use. The prescription was supposed to last 14 days it only lasted 6. The Pharmacy told me that they get more complaints about this medication than any other. They also said they called the manufacturer and asked about the medication amount in the bottle lasting less than the prescribed time and the manufacturer told pharmacy that that is the way the medication is.

I am not a stockholder. Azasite was prescribed for my blepharitis. It is somewhat difficult to use. One MUST turn the small bottle over and shake once to force the viscous liquid into the tip of the dispensing neck. Otherwise it appears that the bottle is empty when squeezed. Put firm steady pressure on the sides of the bottle until drop emerges. For blepharitis I was advised to put the drop on a figertip and apply in a back and forth manner to the eyelids, rather than into the eye directly. Having said it is effective, at the same time I received the prescription I was advised to use eyelid cleaner before each application. Either Sterilid foam or Ocusoft lid scrub pre-moistened pads-both sold at WalMart at best price available. I like the pads. Use folded once and massage in a back and forth motion then rinse well and pat dry. Use one side for first eye then turn over and use the other side on the other eye. I use Bounty to pat dry. It may be that with pad or foam use I could avoid the Azasite. We shall see when course of treatment ends.Read More Read Less

I have given this AzaSite for my condition of Blepharitis. It has allowed my eyes to not be red all the time and for me to be able to wear eye makeup again. My eye dr. has had me on it for 175 days. He told me I'll be on it indefinately. As long as my eyes are not red all the time I'll be happy. At least I won't be stared at like some horrid thing. Instead I look normal.

Way too expensive! My co-pay was $40, which is ridiculous. The bottle is extremely difficult to maneuver and use. Drops landed on my face wasting my hard-earned money! They burned very badly so I was told to discontinue because I am probably allergic. That resulted in $40 down the drain!

Way over priced! My co-pay is generaly $20 this was $40. Even though the treatment required fewer applications, I found the bottle size to be difficult to handle and even more difficult to apply. The medication itself is a very thick liquid that takes a fair amount of exact pressure on the tiny bottle to get just the right amount. All this while your sore eye is being held open. Skip it. Ask for something else.

This product is very expensive, $50 for 2.5ml (9 drops). The bottle and dropper are so big that I lost some of the drops down the side of the dropper. The bottle is very poor design. I am going back to my Opthalmologist for another prescription. I do not recommend this product unless you are rich.

This drug has been disappointing. My Anthem Blue Cross co-pay for this tiny bottle was $50 after meeting a $200 deductible. The first drop did not come out. When trying again more than 2 drops came out. Because of this, I ran short by 1 drop prior to surgery. I cannot recommend AzaSite.

I used this for runny eyes,part of dry eye problems,it is terrific. I feel like I have climbed out of the aquarium and can see without a layer of liquid in my eyes.I can drive again, read, paint.

In reponse to the last post concerning "false reviews", many of the review posters posted their experience with AzaSite on the Investor Village message board since the market introduction of AzsSite. They simply did not know about the webmd site and posted upon their knowledge of its existance, the original post was intentionally false, misleading and had to be challenged since it was a total dis-servece to the users of the webmd site. If all of this leaves users of this site confused, read the posts of the ophthalmologist's posting on the Investor Village message board. Their patients are happy with the drug and most importantly, the doctors are. The most important attribue of AzaSite is the dosing regimen, 9 drops VS. 21 of the market leader.
