When I was diagnosed as hypertensive, my blood pressure was 238/170. This medication, within a month, brought my pressure down to 110/70 on average. I had no side effects except for some slight dizzy spells when I first started taking it as my body was used to having high pressure. My body had to readjust with lower pressure. The only thing I do not like is that Exforge is not available in gener...

I was prescribed exforge for hypertension, and it seeems to be doing its job. I feel fine, and so far I haven't had any problems with it.

Diovan 320mg + 20mg Torsemide was not bringing my BP within desired range. Was placed on 10/320mg Exforge + continuing 20mg Torsemide. BP dropped and stabilized at approximately 105-110/65-70. This was very good, but swelling began in lower right leg and foot. This continued and began using support hose. This helped for awhile, but effectiveness diminished -- often had difficulty getting into a shoe. BP continued to be stable with values as above. Following 12-15 months of use, swelling began in left lower left leg, but not same magnitude as right leg. Was returned to 320mg Diovan + 40mg Torsemide. BP increased to 130-145/85-95. Swelling diminished to nil. Conclusion is that the swelling side-effect of Exforge literally forced the decision to discontinue the Exforge. Read More Read Less

My hbp has been well within the accepted range since I began taking Exforge 10 years ago. I can definitely tell when I've accidentally missed a dose.

was switched to exforge 10-320 mg and metoprolol succ 50mg after being on procardia xl for 2 years because i was tired and weak all the time. The fatigue went away but the developed gout. I am overweight and do have kidney issues, due to untreated hbp for the past 10 years. My legs still feel weak from the knees down, i'm 45 and go down stairs one step at a time because my legs dont feel strong. I always feel soar I did not feel like this before taking these bp meds.

154/84now 4mins ago 184/89 seems to fluctuate. Use to be on amlodipine 5mg for a couple of yrs. Then to nifedical(procardia)30mg then 60mg. Became very tired4 wks ago began exforge 5mg. Feel so much better;however,bp fluctuates.need to urinates increases. Probably the Diovan in exforge. Tried Diovan 5mg couple yrs ago and very frequent leakage. After diagnosis by Urologist, physically okay; cause was Diovan. Stop taking Diovan and leakage stopped. Will continue to take exforge and monitor bp readings. Read More Read Less

was sent letter in mail, took me off Lisinopril & Hydrochlorothiazide 20mg/25mg and started me using Exforge with no reasong why. for 8-9mo. now have severe gout/swelling; depression, cryin alot. dizziness, indegestion, heaviness, itching. just dont feel good; dr wants me to continue taking and has added allopurinol for high uric acid, which is suppose to be the reason why I don't feel well. I feel worst than ever have; can hear joints pop. I am really afraid to take any of this stuff. today I was walking down the steps at work, like I always do, pain in bend of my right leg, felt like I was going to fall. Why do I have to take this medicine? Read More Read Less

I don't know what to do anymore. My doctor took me of this drug because my potassium was alittle high and put me on Bystolic and Amlodipine Besylate witch caused all kinds of problems, weight gain, tired all the time sexual problems and now I am scared to go back on Exforge. My BP was never that high once I got my pain under control. I think I should just stop taking BP meds

I have been on Exforge with Tekturna for about 1 year. My systolic pressure does not come down too much (about where it was when I started 150) but the dystolic is very low - usually in 60's & low 70's). Recently, I have been having terrible heartburn which I have never suffered with before. There was odema around my ankles for a time, my hair is thinner and there is weight gain (seems like water retention). On my next appointment, I will request a change in medication. This drug is also far too expensive for me. Read More Read Less

I had been on Lotrel for over 8 years, but when a generic came out it actually cost me more $. My PCP told me I should try the new med out(Exforge)and after 3 weeks, I started getting heart palpatations and tightness. Going back to Lotrel ASAP..

I too thought this was a miracle drugs until most of my hair fell out, bad gas, intense itching in my scale, at times unbearable. To the point that I scratch my head until it bleeds. I tried everything to stop this itching but couldn’t. I now realize that this drug is more harmful than good and needs to be off the market. I now wear a wig because ¾ of my hair is going and have bald spots because of the eczema that developed while taking this drug. I had bad gas that stopped me from going out after work, rashes and bumps that I get all over my body. I stopped taking this drug and now feel a whole lot better. I say to the ladies take this drug at your own risk because you will be hairless in a couple of month. Disappointed!!! Read More Read Less

This drug has kept my blood pressure at a normal level but I lost most of my hair and have a itch that won't go away. When I started read the reviews I realize that this was not just me but this is on of the terrible side effect of this drug. I am going to my doctor today, 3/10/11 to get me off this drugs. It is sad that I had to do my own research to find out what was going on with me instead of the doctor. Hoping and praying that my hair will grow back and my scalp that itches me like crazy will cease when I get off this drugs. Ladies don't use this drugs if you don't have to. I takes away your dignity. I wear a wig now because of it. Disappointed user.Read More Read Less

For year I've been taking 3 different drugs for high BP. Recently I saw a new Dr.who gave me Exforge. My BP has been great and I'm only taking 1 pill versus 3 and I feel just fine.
