I'm maxed out on metformin (850 mg 3x/day) and glyburide (5mg 4x/day). Januvia, even without the other 2 meds, had my readings in the desired ranges in a day. It's only been 5 days, but so far VERY GOOD! Thanks!

My blood sugar reading soared above 200. Tried letting system get used to meds but never was effective in lowering blood sugar reading in fact reading got worse.

I take glimiperide and this combination drug called Janumet. After adding Janument at 1000 mg per day for the last 6 months in my 3rd month I started feeling very fatigued, having cravings to eat more, soreness and body aches and swelling of my entire body but especially my legs. I would suggest anyone taking this medicine and that also has high blood pressure to not assume that your swelling is coming from that and to tell your doctor if you are experiencing more tiredness, fatigue and body aches than usual to consult with your physician concering this medication called Janumet.Read More Read Less

Very happpy with 100 mg daily. Diabete runs in my family .My sugar was 160 3 months ago and now I am running about 106 daily. Oh, I also lost about 15 lbs. No side effects from someone who is very sensitive to drugs.

i AM WRITING THIS FOR MY 87 YEAR OLD MOTHER WHO ALSO HAS ALZHEIMER'S. PREVIOUS TO TAKING JANUVIA, SHE WAS TAKING METFORMAN AND HER BLOOD SUGAR LEVELS WERE ALL OVER THE PLACE. VERY VERY HIGH TO A LOW OF 30 THAT PUT HER IN THE HOSPITAL FOR 10 DAYS. SINCE TAKING JANUVIA, SHE IS STABLE, ALERT AND NOT SWEATY AND FEELING CLAMMY AND UNCOMFORTABLE ALL THE TIME. IT'S A WONDERFUL DRUG. I CALL IT THE EQUALIZER. THANKS FOR MAKING IT IN TIME FOR HER TO BENEFIT FROM IT. JUDY IN NEW HYDE PARK, NY

I HAD A TERRIBLE REACTION TO THIS MEDICATION. AFTER ONLY 2 DOSES, I EXPERIENCED ACHES AND STIFFNESS IN BOTH CALFS OF LEGS. WITH THIRD DOSE, I EXPERIENCED HORRIBLE STABING PAIN IN LEFT TOES THAT OCCURRED EVERY 30 SECONDS TO 2 MINUTES FOR AT LEAST 23 HOURS. WILL NEVER TAKE THIS MEDICINE AGAIN.

I have been on for 3 weeks and feel unbelievable!!!Clearer head, none of those lows that cause you to panic being inpublic..afaid it will go too low.My sugar is 95 to 110 on waking and 120 to 129 before bed.I have lost 5lbs in the last 3 weeks without a change in my "usual" diet. What a big change from amaryl!!I just turned 50 in a family of diabetics and after 2 years of the ups and downs of my last pill..I'm on "an even keel"I feel better and am not afraid to drive or of beibg caught out when sugar crashes..doen't happen!! I'm thrill with this pill.Read More Read Less

I have been on 100 mgs. Januvia (in combination with 1000 mgs. Metformin)for just over 3 months now. No ill side effects and saw a reduction in my appetite. The Met. alone would not lower my fasting BG - the Januvia had it normal within 10 days. Last A1c = 6.3, a drop from 10.4 in six month time frame.

This is the first med I have tried for my diabetes. It, combined with diet and exercise has helped me keep my blood sugars at normal levels.

Finally, my BSL are in the normal range. I've been on several meds in the past few years and had minimal results. I take a mere 50mg of this a day. I feel good, am losing weight, and have more energy.

I am a insulin dependent type II diabetic. My sugars were in the high 200's My medical team is using this drug to try to wake up my beta cells in my pancreas and/or to see if they were dead. It has helped lower my sugars 50 points. Noone can answer the question though..are my beta cells waking up?

I take his with Glimepiride and it works great. I was skeptical that one dose a day could work for 24 hrs but it does. I finally get blood sugars of 97 to 115. Normal on metaformin was near 150. It's the best thing since baked bread.

It's not as effective as Avandia in controlling my blood sugar but on the other side Avandia is thought to cause congestive heart failure. This drug is extremely expensive and is not covered by Medicare.
