I have taken this drug for the past two cases of sinusitis. I kept the empty bottle to remind me of what worked before. I now have another sinus infection, three winters in a row and I will see my doctor asap to get this drug again. It worked very well for me although it did make food and water taste funny for the duration. I had some weird dreams too but only for a few days. I will gladly ta...

Some of my symptoms were persistent coughing with headache, wheezing, congested nostrils, problem breathing, sore throat.Dr.said I would have ended up in hospital with full blown pneumonia had I waited another day.She treated me with Levofloxacin 500 mg for 7 day at 1 per day, promathazine DM Solution and an inhaler.I started to feel better after the 3rd day and almost back to normal on this the 7th day. Some side effects are as follow. My sleeping was affected but began to improve as I felt better.Hearing in my right ear was affected but cleared up and is back to normal.I also experienced left knee muscle spasm when lying down for the first two nights.I am VERY HAPPY with result I got.I just used my last tablet and all of my initial symptoms have disappeared except a very slight occasional cough which I am sure will totally disappear in another day or two.Read More Read Less

Several months ago, after 5 days, I took the last dosage. I began to notice unusual pain in my shoulders. Unfortunately it got worse. I couldn't sleep at nights due to the pain. I couldn't use my arms to do the things I would normally do. Out of nowhere, the pain handicapped me. It was a horrible experience and turned out to be an allergic reaction. It has taken months to heal and to be able to have use of my shoulders and sleep comfortably again. This drug should be removed from the market, if it hasn't been already.Read More Read Less

I had to take a sleeping pill just to get rid of it and sleep it off. this drug is horrible and the doctor who prescribed me it for a COLD, is dumb. thank you for listening to my ted talk.Read More Read Less

I was on 500mg for 2 weeks, after 5 days my shoulder and arm started hurting. I thought I slept wrong. Pain got worse and my arm would catch and pain would travel to my wrist. I finally went to the orthopedic doctor and mentioned the Levaquin. He had said he heard that about the drug but didnâ??t think it was that. Said I had a frozen shoulder. I donâ??t have limited range of motion just pain. I got a steroid shot that has not worked yet. Due to get another. If I already have a ligament problem from the drug Iâ??m worried the shot may cause a full rupture. I know it was the drug, this came on too quickly with no prior problems with shoulder! Stick to amoxicillin! I am 64 should not have been prescribed this.Read More Read Less

I was taking Levofloxacin 500 mg. The therapy was supposed to last 7 days. I had to stop early due to extreme pain and limited range of movement in my shoulders, bicep area and legs. I have bi lateral knee pain that is making it difficult to walk. I've been out of work for almost 2 weeks. I'm off the meds 2 days now and the tendinitis has not eased up. I don't know why this drug is prescribed! Ask your doctor for safer options!

I was given Levaquin after I got a UTI and a very resistant strain of E. Coli after having a hysterectomy. I started running a high fever two days after surgery, and the urine analysis showed an infection. They put me on an antibiotic that did not work while the culture grew. Then they found out it was a very resistant strain and put me on Levaquin. My high fever went away within hours, and I started feeling better. But I could not sleep for 24 hours - I was wired. My stomach was very upset and I had to continue eating very simple food - eggs, toast, etc. the insomnia remained but got better with melatonin and sleepy time tea. The other side effect was joint pain- waking up feeling like I had run 10 miles. I was given Levaquin for 10 days and because I still didnâ??t feel great they had me take it 7 more days. I think that was a mistake as many of my side effects including the stomach issues were probably from Levaquin. It was hard to know what discomfort was from the hysterectomy and what was Levaquin. I have been off Levaquin for two weeks. My stomach is better but still sensitive, but I still have joint pain. I worry about resining exercise as I have read about the issues with tendons blowing out and Achilles ruptures, and had a friend take Levaquin and rupture her a Achilles. I wish I had known about all of the side effects - no one talked to me about it but I did help me. I wish I would have only taken one round. Hoping the joint pain goes away - it does get better once Iâ??m up and around. Read More Read Less

Insomnia, irritability, debilitating joint pain, heart palpitations. This drug made a minimal impact on my symptoms, I still have post nasal drip and a cough. The pain in my body has persisted and actually seems worse since stopping the medication.

I was given this drug in 500 mg for 7 days. I took it for five days and had to stop because I could not walk. The pain in my leg was so bad I could not sleep and the other leg I could not pick up to walk. Never will I ever take this drug again. It should be banned from anyone using it.

Prescribed 750 ml for 7 days. After third day woke up with numbness in arms. Numbness progressed into pain of tendons in upper arms. Was unable to raise arms or reach behind making it painful to do anything. Severity would come and go and after one week could at least dress myself most of the time. Pain moved to fingers and ankles and comes and goes in shoulders and upper arms. Two weeks on, have no stamina and trouble sleeping. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS MEDICATION! Ask for something else.

I started taking this antibiotic as recommended by my urologist for having blood in my urine I started taking this and I started to feel horrible nauseous tired wanting to faint... I took it for a week only at night before I went to bed since taking it everything tastes strange and I did not notice the same that others claimed on this review. I cannot eat I feel nauseous all the time. The smell of food makes me want to vomit I've lost weight since taking this and I've been on it for a week I stopped taking it cuz I feel like my body does not want it. I'm throwing it out I would not recommend this antibiotic to anybody it's horrible.Read More Read Less

I was so ill when I got the diagnosis of double pneumonia that I wanted them to hospitalize me. I had been sleeping sitting up with my feet on the floor for two weeks because of the coughing. Instead, the doctor put me on Levofloxacin 750 mg/day x 7 days. The first night I slept over 12 hours and woke feeling tired but better. I was appalled when I researched the drug and read the side effect horror stories and considered requesting the doctor switch to a safer drug. But I stayed on it with no side effects. By the third day, I was able to resume normal activities. It also immediately stopped the night sweats I had been having.Read More Read Less

I read a lot of negative reviews on here before taking the medication, and overall had a positive experience so I wanted to share. I developed complications after the flu...pneumonia, then bronchitis, then a sinus/upper respiratory infection. I first had an antibiotic shot, then a z-pak, then amoxicillin. I was still spiking a low grade fever nearly every day and still wasnâ??t feeling great. My doc prescribed me 500mg of levo for 7 days and that seemed to have done the trick. I had a harder time sleeping the first few days, and overall had a higher anxiety level, but the drug did what it needed to do and Iâ??m feeling normal again. Read More Read Less
