I have taken this drug for the past two cases of sinusitis. I kept the empty bottle to remind me of what worked before. I now have another sinus infection, three winters in a row and I will see my doctor asap to get this drug again. It worked very well for me although it did make food and water taste funny for the duration. I had some weird dreams too but only for a few days. I will gladly ta...

I was prescribed levofloxacin for pneumonia. Within 1 week both shoulders had severe pain. I could not dress myself and could not lie on either side in bed. Went online and discovered it was from the drug. After 3 months, had therapy which did not help. After 6 months, had cortisone shots in both shoulders. It has been one year and still have shoulder pain and was told to keep doing exercises. Even after finnishing the med, I coughed for 3 months. I will never take it again, the tendinitis I developed is not worth it. Unfortunately, the patient just takes what is prescribed. Doctors should read these reviews. What ever happened to penicillin etc.? A person developes enough aches and pains without being given something that causes them. I am now suffering, through no fault of my own. Read More Read Less

I just began this drug following surgery. I have had an implanted intrathecal drug pump in my abdomen for 6 yrs. It was replaced today because the battery had gotten low and rather than replace the battery the entire pump was replaced. Infections resulting from this surgery have been serious and some have been fatal. I am 61 yrs old and in excellent health except for chronic back pain resulting in my lumbar spine being fused and nerve damage to my left leg and foot. I will report back at the end of this round of antibiotic treatment. I have been told to stay out of the sun during the time I take this drug. Read More Read Less

I am taking this medicine for sinus infection and an eye infection. It seems to be working; however, I am experiencing muscle cramps and beginning to feel stiffness in my joint. I hope this in not permanent or long lasting.

I was given this after being hospitalized for acute diverticulitis. It makes me dizzy and my body and hands are shaky. I feel fatigue just walking around my home. This is day one of taking it and I have to take it for 10 days. I hope these side effects go away.

After frist dose, the next morning my ankles felt like they were in chains. By, the third morning I could hardly walk at first getting out of bed. Can feel weakness in other area of my body, knee, shoulder and hands. I am a diabetic and had a nasty fall last year that left me walking with a cane (left knee). Should not have been given this medication. Treated for an UTI.

I took it this morning.. Not long after I could barely walk I was so dizzy, crawling to the toilet has not been fun. My vision has blurred horribly, and my heart feels like it could beat out of my chest an onto the floor. I also get so short of breathe I have to put my head between my legs. I don't really know if doing that helped but it made me concentrate on breathing instead of getting worked up. Def not taking it again.

I'm being treated for cellulite infection of the right ear which was spreading to my neck and face. I ear was enlarged beet red think and painful and itchy. The infection has subsided and the ear is starting to get back to normal. I take Florastor to avoid diarrhea. Side effects have been sleeplessness, agitation, headache and sore throat. I don't want to stop taking the medication because its working so well. The black box warnings make me nervous.

This was prescribed as a treatment for a bacterial infection. It helped break up the cold-like symptoms and helped to reduce effects of the infection.

Took 4 of my 10 Levoflaxin pills to treat my bad case of bronchitis. Felt better after one or two days. However, the pills ruined me for a week. First I was constipated and dizzy. Then I was beyond tired and had the worst heart burn, stomach cramping, and diarreah I've ever had. I stopped the meds immediately. I'll never take this script again. Certainly not worth it. I'm hoping I feel better soon.

I contracted a bacterial infection while visiting the middle east: Palestine, Israel, Jordan. It started in my ear, went to my lungs and eventually my sinuses. I was prescribed erythromycin to for this and it did diminish the symptoms but 2 weeks after the prescription completed, the infection was back. Levofloxacin seems to have won the battle and I have had no ill side affects. Inshallah.

ADDING TO PREVIOUS COMMENT. Z-PAC is AZITHROMYCIN. I took it for bacterial infection, not viral.

I have yearly bronchitis, which I receive a standing prescription from my doctor just by calling him. I started getting sick on my way to New Orleans for a cruise. I called my doctors office, and for some reason, unknown, my doctor prescribed LEVOFLOXACIN 500mg. It didnt do anything for me, and I ended up going to the ship doctor, who prescribed my usual Z-pack,along with Q-Tusson to make my cough productive, which worked! By the description of LEVOFLOXACIN, this was not the medicine I needed for a "viral" bronchitis.Read More Read Less
