Before I began taking Topamax, I suffered with migraines almost daily. It took about 5 years and 4 doctors later before I found something that worked for me. Lucky for me, at the time, my current doctor was up to date on all of the latest treatments for chronic migraine sufferers. I have been on Topamax for 6-1/2 years. It works very well to help control my chronic daily migraines. A great many of the initial side effects have gone, but I am still left with word finding issues, as well as memory problems and some short temper problems. I did have depression problems, but went on Wellbutrin and that straightened me out. I do not intend to go off of Topamax any time soon.
