I have been taking Opana ER 40mg Tablets every 12 hours for chronic pain. I think that it is the best around the clock opioid pain medication out there. I have been on Oxycontin, MSContin, Methadone(for Pain), Dilaudid, and fentanyl, along with oxycodone 30mg IR tablets as needed four times a day. The Opana ER has worked way better and actually lasts very close to the 12 hours that it is suppos...

I've been on this medication for years and have found that I haven't built a tolerance and it works very well for me. Fewer side effects than other opiates, too.

Diagnosed Complex Regional Pain Syndrome in 2000 from knee replacement. Chronic pain since 1996. Twenty one years of pain that can only be managed by Oxycodone 30mg X 6 daily so far. Now our damn government has decided to rid the world of oxy's we are being made to suffer. I am being forced to experiment again. I am taking Opana ER 30mg X 3 daily and I get Zero pain relief. I took 4 for 2 day's and got same result = Zero relief. It causes me to dose off constantly to the point I could not drive. I cut a few in half so that I can take 15mg twice daily then to one 15mg a day then I am stopping. From what I have learned when they reformulated this one time wonder drug they turned it into aspirin. I am writing to Endo Pharmaceuticals for an explanation. This is a very expensive drug. Society is turning a blind eye toward the Chronic Pain Sufferers in their effort to control Drug Abusers. It's going to get worse I'm afraid.Read More Read Less

I've been on and off taking pain meds for about 10 yrs. my dr put me on 40 mg opana er twice a day and percocet 10-325 4 a day. This combo helped me sooo much for a while. I've been on these for over a year or two and unfortunately their not working as well as they use to. Imho opana is a good pain killer. I was on morphine before this and hated it. It made my head feel really strange. It took several trial and error to get to this one so I'm a bit apprehensive about trying to switch it up again. Read More Read Less

Prescribed for psoriatic arthritis flares. 5mg allows me to sleep through the night. Best pain medicine I've ever been prescribed.

Doc put me on 5 mgs ER. Doesn't make me sick to my stomach like other meds but it also doesn't work for me. It's like taking a baby aspirin instead of Demerol. I have several dxs that include chronic and/or severe pain so need to find something that actually works. Hydrocodone, dilaudid injections and tramadol don't work and make me violently ill

i thought the effects of the medication were similar to perkocet10 mg i was prescribed them as my primary pain treatment but i i got mild relief from them so i informed my doctor of that and that i was having trouble from wanting to take more than prescribed and he gave me two 10mg tablets of opana er and i am 37 yrs old and never had a medication cause me such stomach trouble i was so constipated that i would sit in the bathroom for hours trying to use it and as soon i would get a little to go it was like passing rocks this went on for three days and day four and five wasn't much better and every time i tried using the bathroom it was like some one poured a cup of blood in the commode and it has been over a month later and i am still having trouble using the bathroom i now have internal and external hemorrhoids and 9 out of ten times i use the bathroom it is like some one lights a fire in my ass Read More Read Less

I was switched from Morphine 200 mg twice a day just to function, to Opana 30 mg twice a day. Not only did it not work, I have been going through withdrawals and my pain has been excruciating.

Got up to 6 x 10mg of Oxycodone a day and with it, the associated ups and downs when to came to pain relief. A new Dr suggested Opana 30MG ER and at first I was skeptical but it really seemed to work well. I didn't have the highs/lows, just a constant pain relief. Have had L5 disc surgery and still have degenerative discs, so the pain was continual. But, Opana 30mg ER (2 x day) works well. Please see if this alternative will help you, if you are tired of constant Oxy up/downs. Also, you get less of the "drug addict" stares at the Pharmacy, which is nice. Good luck to everyone out there with pain issues. It sucks hard. Read More Read Less

DO NOT TAKE before surgery. I was told to went in to surgery on Friday, do not remember anything until Monday afternoon. Was in ICU! Tests were run, etc. Found that I had a reaction from the OPANA ER and anesthesia. Suffered brain damage, lost over 15 IQ points.

I suffered severe broken neck 35 years ago. Have had two cervical reconstructions. Morphine sulfate stopped working after 5 years. 40mg Opana 2x day with 15mg x 2 up to 4x for Brea through works, but wears off completely after 8 hours. While the morphine at 120mgmedications with bad sidecaffecregiment was not as effective, at least it helped a little for the full 12 hours. Pain management doctors have no idea how these drugs actually work as far as true effectiveness and don't listen to patients well. The ratio for opana to morphine is supposed to be 33%, but a little more than 50% seems to be closer to correct for someone with long term opiate therapy. I now take several other medications that are a waste of money and have undesired side effects because my doctor won't give me a simple 20mg middle day dose. Read More Read Less

I have been in chronic pain for 10 years. I am 48 and after a 25 year career as a contract specialist with the federal gov, I had to retire with a disability. I have had 2 spinal surgeries due to OA, DDD, spondylosis. Opana ER saved me

Was previous high doses of OxyContin, aviza, morphine & Duragesic patches. This drug has served me well maintaining severe chronic neurological back pain. I have 8 spinal surgeries, 8 lumbar levels fused, cervical decompress ions on 4 levels. All other drugs make me extremely tired and affects mental acumen. I am fully functional, work high pressure job in financial markets, where I need maximum alertness. 50 mg x 3 times daily. If needed I take oxycodone IR 15 mg . Drug only works effectively. 8 hours, not 12 hours, as they would like you to believe or advertise. Also I do not build up resistance. Requiring dosage increases.Read More Read Less
