My son was diagnosed with ADHD at age 3. We had 3 different doctors confirm diagnosis before we took any additional steps. Right now, the main problem is his hyperactivity and impulsiveness. The daytrana patch is a lifesaver! Especially at his young age, he wouldn't swallow the pills. He actually refers to the patch as his special bandaid that helps him be good. We did have sleep issues also...

The Daytrana patch has been effective in helping my autistic 8 year old son focus and be less impulsive (ie: aggressive). Compliance has been an issue, as has rapid weight loss (10 lbs in the first 2 months) and decreased growth (less than 3/4 inch in a year). The drug is nice in that the patch can be taken off right after school, and used for a few hours a day on the weekend, thus increasing the time his appetite is normal.

My son started this 1 year ago, and I have seen a great change in him, his attention span is alot calmer, and his eye contact is improving, as the treatment progresses, the only thing about this patch is, when you get a batch that won't stick to my son's skin, I have to apply a bangage along with it.
